Chris Hemsworth’s hit action franchise, “Extraction,” is getting a third adventure. The action star and director Sam Hargrave made the announcement at Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, following the June 16 premiere of “Extraction 2.”
The first two films center on black ops mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth). In the first film, Tyler takes on a mission to save an Indian crime lord’s son, but it pushes him to the brink of death. “Extraction 2” picks up with Tyler recovering from the assignment, but then he decides to embark on another risky task in order to save the family of a famed Georgian gangster.
Hargrave, whose directorial debut was the first “Extraction,” has lent his stunt expertise to the franchise’s second film as well. The stuntman-turned-director stunned fans with the sequel’s use of a singular shot for a 21-minute action sequence.

The official trailer for Netflix’s Extraction 2 starring Chris Hemsworth finds the Marvel star fighting his way through what seems like hundreds of well-armed bad guys in order to save a mom and two kids. All this after being declared clinically dead following the events at the end of the first Extraction.
Hemsworth described this official trailer on social media, saying, “Here you go. Extraction 2 trailer smacking you right between the eyes.” Hemsworth also confirmed the action thriller includes a single shot that clocks in at 21 minutes.
The nearly three-minute trailer arrived along with three new posters featuring Hemsworth in action.
In addition to Chris Hemsworth returning as Tyler Rake, Extraction 2 stars Golshifteh Farahani (reprising her role from the first film), Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili. Extraction‘s director and screenwriter – Sam Hargrave and Joe Russo, respectively – also return to put Hemsworth through hell in the sequel.

The official trailer for Extraction 2 has Chris Hemsworth returning from near death as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake in another brutal display of power when he is personally requested for a rescue mission.
As is explained in the high-octane footage (below), Rake was clinically dead nine months ago. But he fought his way back and now, he just has to find out why.
Rake’s deadly mission follows his surviving the events of the original film and in the sequel aiming to rescue the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from prison against impossible odds. Hemsworth continues such death-defying stunts in the nonstop, brutal and bloody Extraction 2 trailer.
The original Extraction thriller saw the Australian mercenary mourn the death of his son while rescuing the kidnapped son of an imprisoned Indian drug kingpin. Rake then seemingly died in the original Extraction, which hit Netflix in 2020, but a...

Chris Hemsworth reteams with “Avengers: Endgame” directors the Russo brothers in “Extraction,” whose trailer just dropped. In the action thriller, Hemsworth is still playing the hero, but his character is a lot more grizzled than Thor.
“Extraction” stars Hemsworth as a black market mercenary who takes a job to rescue a drug kingpin’s teenage son from a warring gang, only to get stuck in the crossfire and constantly on the run with the kid when the city goes on lockdown.
But Hemsworth has something of a death wish in the film for his tortured past, and he definitely doesn’t view himself as the hero.
“You rescue people,” the boy says to Hemsworth in the trailer for “Extraction.” “Sometimes. Sometimes I do other things,” he replies.

David Leitch’s war-time spy thriller Coldest City has recruited X-Men: Apocalypse actor James McAvoy. He joins Charlize Theron in the adaptation of the eponymous Oni Press graphic novel.
Leitch, who is perhaps best known for co-directing last year’s white-knuckle ride John Wick, takes point for this one. Working from a script produced by Kurt Johnstad, the director’s foray behind the lens will be set against the fall of the Berlin Wall circa 1989. Specifically, Coldest City takes place on the eve of the barrier’s destruction, telling the gripping tale of two spies working to locate and destroy a blacklist containing the names of secret agents operating on both sides of the wall.

It’s a science fiction Golden Age in comic books right now, and one of the most unique titles has certainly been Charles Soule and Alberto Jiménez Albuquerque’s Letter 44. Like last year’s fantastic indie film Europa Report, Letter 44 is tied closely enough to the real world—and real science—that it’s not difficult to imagine it happening as a result of politics and experimental space exploration. And it seems that the SyFy channel, while certainly a fan of schlocky monster movies, can also appreciate the gravity of finding new life in space, as publisher Oni Press has recently announced the channel’s upcoming adaptation of Letter 44 for television.
Here’s the press release, including a short plot summary:
Portland, Or (April 30, 2014) – Oni Press is thrilled to announce that Charles Soule and Alberto Jiménez Alburquerque’s hit ongoing series Letter 44 has been picked up for development for television by SyFy!

At last year’s Comic-Con, it was revealed that a deal had been sealed with Universal Television to develop a TV series based on Clone, one of Robert Kirkman’s latest comic book series. We haven’t heard much since then, but Syfy just announced that a number of original programming projects, including Clone, are part of their upcoming development slate:
“New York – April 30, 2014 – Building on the momentum of Syfy’s growing slate of cutting edge, provocative original programming, Syfy today announced it was developing adaptations of the graphic novels Clone, from Robert Kirkman and David Alpert (The Walking Dead) and Letter 44, from Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3), as well as the popular novels The Magicians, based on the book series by Lev Grossman.

Syfy will develop as longform programming (i.e., miniseries) "Pax Romana," Jonathan Hickman’s graphic novel about a time traveling clash of ages and arms, and "Ronin," based on Frank Miller’s (300) comic book series about an avenging samurai.
"Pax Romana" is about a Special Forces team that travels back in time on the eve of World War III to “fix” the future by altering the past. Their destination: Ancient Rome. Roman legions battle modern day attack helicopters, tanks, and soldiers while thought-provoking themes are explored as the leaders of the expedition fight over their vision for civilization. Carlton Cuse has found his next producing gig, according to Deadline. He is reportedly producing an adaptation of Oni Press' graphic novel Sixth Gun for NBC. The drama about "six mythical guns in the Old West" is set to be produced by Universal TV. Ryan Condal has signed on to pen the script and will executive produce with Cuse. Also producing is Eric Gitter and Andy Bourne of Oni Press’s sister company, Closed on Mondays Entertainment.
The story is described as follows:
When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl named Becky Montcrief, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing Becky. Only Drake Sinclair, a self-serving gunfighter, stands in evil’s way.
This sounds like a great TV show for NBC, which has been having bad luck lately launching quality shows.

Created by Brendan Hay and Justin Wagner, the story is set in a place called Toonie Terrace where good-natured Toonies rambunctiously and without fail outwit the Meanies, who are trying to do them in.
The story is set in motion when Rascal Raccoon finally and unexpectedly kills his longtime nemesis, Jumpin’ Jackalope. Needing a new target, he sets his sights on the animator who created him. The film is a live-action and CGI combination (ala "The Smurfs").
Todd Strauss-Schulson ("A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas") is attached to helm, Matt Fogel will adapt the script while Eric Gitter and Ken Franchi will produce.

Deadline is now reporting that Johnson has signed on for a film that’s once again within his comfort zone of the action genre, with the adaptation of an upcoming Oni Press graphic novel entitled “Ciudad.” Oni Press also published the “Scott Pilgrim” books,...
