Mark Glaser(I)
- Visual Effects
Mark has a traditional art background, with a specialty in
photo-realistic painting. This helped him develop a keen eye for light
and color which eased his transition to digital art forms. As his
artistic skills evolved, his still images were put into motion and he
rapidly became sought after for his strong combination of photo-real
computer imagery and computer animation abilities. After a role as
Digital Artist and Animator for "Robocop: The Series" in Canada, Mark
came to the U.S. as a freelance Digital Supervisor/Artist. It was
during this time that he formed a relationship with a group of other
industry pioneers at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Imaging. Together with
five other Amblin alumni, Mark helped form a new creative division at
Digital Domain, where his work as CG Supervisor and Lead Animator on a
60 second Nike spot titled, "Virtual Andre" won him a Clio and an AICP
award forBest Digital Animation. Mark was also Digital FX Supervisor
and Animator on the character animation intensive "The Race" spot for
Nintendo, Porsche and Taco Bell which starred Nintendo characters,
Mario and Donkey Kong. In two Chevy Blazer spots, "Chevy Obstacles 98"
and "Chevy Roads 98", he created a photreal Blazer that appears
throughout the entirety of both spots. The latter which won him his
second Clio award. At Station X, Mark continues to push the envelope of
digital filmmaking. A prime example of this is the entirely computer
generated Dodge "Clock" commercial--the first of its kind. In his next
project, his third Chevy Blazer spot, Mark took things a step farther,
and, in addition to creating the photoreal CG vehicles, also supervised
a "virtual location shoot". Mark is currently the Visual Effects
Supervisor for his first feature film project: Dungeons and Dragons:
The movie.
