It has been 45 years since the release of John Carpenter’s Halloween. And while there are so many unique approaches to celebrating the occasion – killing your babysitter, purchasing Laurie Strode’s house, etc. – there is now yet another way. Debuting at the H45: 45 Years of Terror convention, new prints that bring Michael Myers to Riverdale (or is it Archie to Haddonfield?) is the crossover you had no idea had been inked into existence.
The Halloween / Archie crossover is part of the Archie Horror line, which launched in 2015. While there won’t be a run of comic books themselves, the great Matt Talbot has designed two special prints that will be featured at the aforementioned con. On the work, Talbot said, “Every so often, if you’re really fortunate, a dream project comes along—and this was one of those times. The Archie gang… meeting up with Michael Myers? When...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from the series finale of “Riverdale,” which aired on The CW Wednesday, August 23.
The end of “Riverdale” has arrived — after seven seasons of milkshake-drinking, love triangles, crime- solving and one incredible bear attack. The CW’s teen drama-turned-supernatural phenom finally wrapped up on Wednesday night, but not before throwing in a few more major twists.
The finale, titled “Goodbye, Riverdale,” jumped ahead 67 years. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is in her 80s, and is the last remaining alive member of the Riverdale crew. The night before she dies, she gets a visit from the ghost of Jughead (Cole Sprouse), who takes her back to a day when she missed school, revisiting all of her friends and finding out what happened to them after high school. For a full breakdown of where everyone ended up and how they all died (!), read our full recap.

Exclusive: The CW has expanded the cast of Riverdale for the upcoming seventh and final season. Nicholas Barasch (Hadestown) and Karl Walcott (Le Chalet) have been tapped for major recurring roles on the Archie Comics series, developed and executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Barasch will play Julien Blossom, your classic high school red-headed bully. He’s preppy, rich, and extremely entitled. Handsome, athletic, and cocky, he always gets his way, but in the rare times he doesn’t—like with Veronica—he makes life miserable for everyone around him. He often butts heads with his twin sister, but is also an antagonist to all of our teen characters, most especially Archie.
Walcott is Clay Walker, a teen renaissance man. He is studious, artistic, well-read, and well-traveled. An Army brat, Clay comes from a loving family and is a champion for social justice. He is very open-minded in his art and his sexuality.

A new Archie Comics-based drama is coming to The CW, TheWrap has confirmed.
“Jake Chang” — set in the same universe as its predecessors “Riverdale” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” — hails from Oanh Ly and Viet Nguyen, who worked on the latter series, Daniel Dae Kim’s 3Ad, Archie Comics and Warner Bros. Television.
The official logline for the series is as follows: “‘Jack Chang’ is an Asian-American–led mystery following a 16-year-old private investigator as he navigates the racially and socioeconomically diverse worlds of his ever-gentrifying home of Chinatown, and the elite private high school he attends. The show will blend soapy teen drama with the neon noir aesthetic, all while flipping nearly every Asian stereotype — honor, martial arts, destiny, lineage, parental sacrifice — on its head.”

Exclusive: Sabrina Spellman lives on—sort of—in the new Archie Comics and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa series The Occult World of Sabrina which will pick up where Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina left off in its series finale cliffhanger. Sabrina may have welcomed death, but someone close to her is plotting to bring her back.
The source comic book series that inspired the Kiernan Shipka-led drama will also move forward in time in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9 with Aguirre-Sacasa at the helm, set to debut on Oct. 13.
Both tales involve a Witch War, so does that mean the respective storylines could converge at some point? Aguirre-Sacasa discusses the theory exclusively with Deadline and what fans can expect when they dive into each new tale.

Sabrina’s Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda will be looking a lot different (but probably very familiar) to Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” fans when Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick — who played Melissa Joan Hart’s aunties on the ’90s sitcom “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” — take on the roles for an episode of the show’s upcoming fourth and final season.
In a preview clip from Season 4 of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” which you can view above, you’ll see Broderick and Rhea reprise their iconic parts with a twist, as they are apparently the “aunts” of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) in an alternate universe where her life is a TV show, complete with laugh track.

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will end its wicked tale on New Year’s Eve when the Netflix series launches its final season. And before all is said and done, Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) will promise Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) that they are “endgame.” Now whether or not they both make it to the end of what appears to be a very intense season-long battle remains to be seen.
Nick makes this declaration to Sabrina in the trailer for the fourth and final season of “Sabrina,” which Netflix dropped Thursday, as the coven is battling the Eldritch Terrors with a little help from Sabrina. No, not that Sabrina, the Sabrina who is currently ruling in Hell. Yes, Sabrina travels down below to get some assistance from her double in stopping “The Void,” which is the baddest of the big bads this season and what Sabrina’s cousin, Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) calls “the end of all things.

The Archieverse is coming to Spotify! On Thursday, the streaming service announced an exclusive partnership with Archie Comics to deliver new podcasts based on different comic series, including Archie, Betty & Veronica, Josie & The Pussycats, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Each tale from the Archie Comics world, which debuted the title character in 1941, will target both younger and older audiences, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"The podcast and audio space is so vibrant, and Spotify is, hands down, the industry leader there," Archie Comics CEO and publisher Jon Goldwater said in a statement. "Bringing the iconic Archie library of characters to Spotify is a perfect match, and we're so excited to partner with them to explore new, compelling stories featuring our characters. Exclusive: While fans of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina just learned that series will end its Netflix run later this year, Archie Comics devotees will be cheered by a new first look deal made by Spotify to create an original series of podcasts based on the Archie Comics universe. This follows a similar deal Spotify made recently with DC Comics.
Deal encompasses the whole Archieverse, encompassing the characters Archie, Betty, Jughead and Veronica as well as Sabrina and Josie and the Pussycats, etc. The creative team at Archie Comics will collaborate with Spotify Studios on the development of the series. It is unclear which series will hit the Spotify platform first, but there are conversations around potential shows for all ages as well as other content aimed at an older audience — think Riverdale & Sabrina.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will end its run with its upcoming Part 4, which will be released in late 2020, leading to “a spooky, sexy & supernatural series finale,” Netflix announced Wednesday, realizing first-look images from the series’ final chapter.
Originally developed for the CW, the Riverdale offshoot migrated to Netflix when the streamer offered a two-season order. The show’s seasons, referred to as Parts, ranged from 11 episodes, including a holiday special, in Part 1, 9 episodes in Part 2 and 8 each in Parts 3 and 4.
This is a typical lifespan for a successful recent Netflix scripted series; Ozark, one of the streamer’s most popular dramas, was just renewed for a fourth and final season. Sabrina‘s end date comes a few days after the other Riverdale offshoot, the CW’s Katy Keene, was canceled after one season. It is unclear whether any characters from either ending series would make their way to the mothership Riverdale.

Say goodbye, witches: “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will end with its upcoming fourth season, Netflix said Wednesday.
The final chapter of the Kiernan Shipka-led drama will launch later this year, “with a spooky, sexy & supernatural series finale — but not before Sabrina Spellman reveals a few more tricks up her retro-chic sleeve.”

“Katy Keene” will not be coming back for more adventures in the world of New York fashion, at least not at the CW.
The network has canceled the “Riverdale” spinoff after a single season. According to sources, the show’s producer Warner Bros. intends to explore possibilities to keep it going on another platform.
“Katy Keene,” also based on the Archie Comics character, follows aspiring fashion designer Katy Keene (Lucy Hale), who meets Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), fresh off the bus to chase her musical dreams. Their world is populated with kindred-spirit starving artists, including mysterious socialite Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) and Broadway-bound performer Jorge Lopez – and his drag queen alter ego, Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp).
The series was the only CW show not to be renewed in January, when the network handed out second season pick-ups to fellow newcomers “Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew.” It’s worth noting that even though...

The CW has opted not to proceed with a second season of Katy Keene. Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind The Riverdale spinoff headlined by Lucy Hale, is planning to explore options for keeping the show going.
The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz in May revealed that the options on the cast, which originally expired June 30, had been extended as the network was mulling their renewal decision. I hear the extension is until July 31, giving Wbtv a window to pursue a new home. Given Katy Keene‘s streaming deal at Wbtv corporate sibling HBO Max, which is currently carrying Season 1, the platform is considered the most realistic option for keeping Katy Keene alive.
Katy Keene was the only current CW series not to get a renewal for next season in January. In a vote of confidence, the network at the time gave the midseason show a 13-script order ahead of its premiere.

The CW is set to make a decision on the future on Katy Keene “in a few weeks” and the network hopes that more streaming numbers will make up for “soft” linear ratings.
The network will take into account streaming figures for the show, which will have all episodes stacked on The CW’s digital platform and will launch on HBO Max at the end of the month, before making a renewal decision.
The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz added that it had extended the options on the cast ahead of a decision.

Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols will be exiting “Riverdale” at the end of its currently airing fourth season, a spokesperson for The CW told TheWrap Sunday.
Ulrich plays F.P. Jones, the father of Jughead (Cole Sprouse), while Nichols plays Hermione Lodge, Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) mother. Both have been with the dark Archie comics adaptation since it premiered in 2017.
F.P.’s journey has seen him go from being the sketchy leader of the Southside Serpents to the well-respected sheriff of Riverdale, who still manages to be loyal to his old gang. In that time, he’s also become a better father to his son, as well as a father figure to Archie Andrews (Kj Apa) since the death of his dad, Fred (played by the late Luke Perry).

We are just over a week away from the debut of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part Three, and Netflix has just dropped another trailer.
Part Three finds Sabrina reeling from the harrowing events of Part Two.
Though she defeated her father Lucifer, the Dark Lord remains trapped within the human prison of her beloved boyfriend, Nicholas Scratch.
Sabrina can't live with herself, knowing that Nick made the ultimate sacrifice and is suffering, burning in Hell under Madam Satan’s watchful eye.
So with an assist from her mortal friends, “The Fright Club”, Sabrina makes it her mission to free him from eternal damnation and bring him back into her arms.
However, the Dark Lord's unseating has sent shockwaves through the realms—and, with no one on the throne, Sabrina must assume the title of “Queen” to defend it against a challenger, the handsome Prince of Hell Caliban.

Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) is telling her friends to go to Hell, literally, in the new trailer for the upcoming third season of Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” Of course, she’s leading the group and the trip is obviously for a good cause: to save her boyfriend Nick (Gavin Leatherwood), who currently has her father, Lucifer (Luke Cook) trapped inside his body.
But once Sabrina gets down there it seems like she’s going to have a rather hard time leaving — as she’s expected to take over her father’s throne in his absence. Yes, our young teen witch is about to become a teen queen, Queen of Hell, that is, and she needs to join the family business to keep her coven and the residents of Greendale safe,

The witch is back — and this time, with a track.
Netflix released the music video for the upcoming third season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Thursday morning, in which Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) and the band Lovecraft perform their original song “Straight to Hell.” And while this is not a trailer in the traditional sense, the almost 3-minute video features first-look footage from Season 3.
In the music video, which you can view above, Sabrina sings about how when it comes to love, she’s “going straight to hell.” And heck, we can’t blame her, seeing as her boyfriend, Nick (Gavin Leatherwood) is currently stuck down there, with her father, Lucifer (Luke Cook), trapped inside his body. Yeah, so, she might wanna venture down there soon to save him.

In advance of Katy Keene‘s series premiere next month, the CW has ordered 13 additional scripts of the Riverdale spinoff headlined by Lucy Hale.
The script order joins early renewals for next season of all 13 of the CW’s current scripted series that are not ending this season: All American, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In The Dark, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Roswell, New Mexico and Supergirl.
The additional script order is a strong vote of confidence to Katy Keene. With its pedigree — being spinoff from the CW’s hit drama Riverdale based on the Archie Comics characters, coming from A-list creative auspices, Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and toplined by a CW star, Hale — a Season 2 renewal for Katy Keene was considered likely.

Since the passing of Luke Perry last spring, “Riverdale” fans have been wondering how the CW show would handle the sudden passing of Archie’s dad. Attendees at New York Comic Con got a taste from a new trailer released in advance of Wednesday’s Season 4 premiere.

Juan Riedinger is boarding the cast of “Riverdale” as Archie’s brand-new arch nemesis named Dodger.
The character is described as “a local thug who becomes a nemesis for Archie,” according to The CW.
Riedinger will appear at some point in Season 4, which premieres on October 9 on The CW. The network previously announced that the first episode of the new season will be a tribute to late actor Luke Perry, who played Archie’s father, Fred Andrews. Perry’s “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty will make an appearance on the tribute episode.

The last we saw of “Riverdale” was the third season finale, titled “Chapter Fifty-Seven: Survive the Night,” which centers around the Gargoyle King. We learned that it probably isn’t Hiram Lodge, but it might be — his true identity is yet to be disclosed.

Katy Keene is making the jump from comic book to TV in 2020.
The new CW drama series is set in the same universe as Riverdale, but the show is nowhere near as dark as its parent series.
Katy Keene follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene (Lucy Hale), singer/songwriter Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), performer Jorge Lopez/Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp), and “It Girl” Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City…together.
Katy designs clothes for anyone she can, including her friend and roommate Josie, whose singing talent catches the attention of Alexander Cabot (Lucien Laviscount), a CEO who hopes to reboot the record label division of his father’s corporate empire.

The “Riverdale” team dropped a heap of Season 4 news on fans during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, revealing they’re finally doing a Halloween episode and Cole Sprouse’s Jughead is heading to prep school for senior year.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also said Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) are going to become partners with a “Risky Business”-like storyline involving “maple syrup rum,” and Archie (Kj Apa) is starting a freakin’ band with his friends, y’all: The Archies, the group featured in the original Archie comics.
Plus, Bughead fans are going to be tested, as Betty (Lili Reinhart) is going to be dealing with Jughead’s move to a new school — and the fact that they just found out they share a half brother — and Josie will return for the first episode of Season 4.

“Riverdale” is planning to make a special tribute to Luke Perry.
The show’s executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced at Comic-Con that Shannen Doherty, Perry’s longtime friend and “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star, will guest star in the season 4 premiere. The tribute episode will “reflect Perry’s enduring legacy and the indelible imprint his character” Fred Andrews had on the series. Precise details on Doherty’s character are being kept under wraps, but Aguirre-Sacasa described it as “very emotional.”
Perry died in March, 2019 at the age of 52 after suffering a major stroke. At the time, Doherty expressed that she was “struggling with this loss” and that “processing (it) is impossible.”
Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that he and Perry had been planning to have Doherty on the show for some time and that her presence in the series is “something that Luke wanted to happen since season 1.” Perry played the father to Kj Apa’s Archie.
