- ( 1968/69 )Played Algernon in "The Importance of being Earnest", Reverend Arthur Humphries in "See How They Run" Tony Wendice in "Dial M for Murder"and Silvio in "The Servant of Two Masters" amongst many plays all directed by Willard Stoker..also in the casts were Maria Aitken, Georgina Hale, Michael N Harbour, Ivan Plowright, Sheila Barker, Helen Worth, Jimmy Thompson and John Bott. This was a Repertory season at the Theatre Royal, Northampton.
- (December 1970) Played the title role in "GILGAMESH, KING OF URUK" directed by Frederick Proud at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. Other company members included Ilona Linthwaite, Roger Green, Miranda Hampton.
- ( 1984/85/86 ) Acted in the Royal Shakespeare Company season Richard III, Hamlet, Henry V, Camille, Dreamplay. Company members included were Brian Blessed, Kenneth Branagh, Patricia Routledge, Ian McDiarmid, Norman Henry, Sion Probert, Cecile Paoli, Frances Thomalty, Adam Bareham, Peter Miles, Henry Goodman, Malcolm Storry, Brian Parr, Peter Postlethwaite, Geoffrey Freshwater, Peter Theedom, Jimmy Yuill, Roger Allam. Directors were Bill Alexander, Ron Daniels, Adrian Noble, Ron Daniels and Professor John Barton respectively. Toured Australia with Richard III to Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.
- (July 1981) Acted in ON THE RAZZLE directed by Peter Wood and THE SECOND MRS TANQUERAY directed by Michael Rudman in the National Theatre in the season at the Lyttleton. Company members included Dinsdale Landen, Felicity Kendall, Alfred Lynch, Clyde Gatell, Thomas Henty, John Challis, Harold Innocent, Ray Brooks, Mary Chiltern, Timothy Hick, Leigh Lawson, John Arthur, Ciaran Madden, Michael Kitchen, David Roper.
- ( 1969, 1975, 1980 )Had three West End runs at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in "Hadrian vii" "Betsy" and "Make and Break" Directed by Peter Dews, Val May and Michael Blakemore respectively. Other members of the companies included Leonard Rossiter, Prunella Scales, Peter Blythe, James Grout, Herbert Lom, David Robb, Briony McRoberts, Paul Daneman, Henry Knowles, Gary Fairhall, David Graham, Donald Morley, David Goodland, Simon Gipps Kent, Peter Baldwin, Alan Brown, Trevor Bannister, Ian East.
- (April 1967) Made his debut as Cassius In "Julius Caesar" which was a Schools tour of Northern Ireland in. Julia Breck was also in the cast.
- (January 1977) Played Charles Stratton in Terence Rattigan's SEPARATE TABLES with Sir John Mills, Jill Bennett, Margaret Courtenay, Zena Walker, Anna Cropper, Raymond Huntley, Ambrosine Philpotts, Delia Lindsay....directed by Michael Blakemore at the Apollo Theatre. Paul remembers meeting Terence Rattigan himself during the Play's successful West end run. There was also a thrilling introduction to Robert Mitchum in John Mill's dressing room.
- (December 1984) Played the "Cad" in a very successful FALSTAFF CIGAR COMMERCIAL directed by Brian Rose at Elstree studios in which won best commercial of the year for Young and Rubicam in New York. Other members of the cast included Rudolph Walker.
- (February 1970) West End debut as Pablo in "The Tower" by Peter Weiss directed by Frederick Proud and produced by Verity Bargate for the Soho Theatre company. Others in the cast included John Rogan and Alan Helm.
- (April 1971) Played the Woodcutter in "Rashomon" played by David Suchet directed by Ted Craig at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing in . Geoffrey Bateman, Judy Nunn and Glyn Sweet were also in the cast.
- ( 2003/4 ) Paul played Reinhard Wilke in "Democracy" by Micael Frayn directed by Michael Blakemore, which was voted best Play three times ( Critics circle, Evening Standard and South Bank and finished a close second, one vote, to Pillowman ..subsequently transferred from the now Royal National to the West end, Wyndhams Theatre for a 6 month run.
- (1970) Made his debut in Radio as Eustace in "Eustace and Hilda" by LP Hartley an adaptation on BBC Radio 4 directed by Archie Campbell with Penelope Lee as Hilda, Dinah Sheridan as Lady Nelly. Also in the cast were James Villiers, Kenneth Fortescue, Marjorie Westbury, Jan Edwards, Carl Forgione and the Narrator was David Davis.
- (March 1971) Played Richard in "On Approval" with David Suchet, Judy Nunn and Diane Langford directed by Ted Craig at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing in 1971. Other company members in this season included Geoffrey Bateman, Gerald Flood, Gary Waldhorn, Diane Langford, Alec Linstead, Fiona Gaunt, Gwen Taylor, Ian Judge, Joan Alcorn, Glyn Sweet, Alan Leith, Barry Quinn and Peter John.
- (January 1972) Played Malcolm in MACBETH, Clitandre in THE MISANTHROPE, Rocco in SATURDAY, SUNDAY,MONDAY, Wilfred Kirby in EDEN END, Frank in THE FRONT PAGE and Lady Sneerwell's Footman in THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL at the National Theatre Company at the Old Vic. The Directors were Michael Blakemore, John Dexter, Franco Zeffirelli, Sir Laurence Olivier, Michael Blakemore and Jonathan Miller respectively. Acting company members included Laurence Olivier, Joan Plowright, Anthony Hopkins, Diana Rigg, Paul Curran, Alec Mcowen, Jeremy Clyde, Clive Merrison, John Shrapnel, Dennis Quilley, Benjamin Whitrow, Louise Purnell, Anna Carteret, Louis Ramsey, Michael Jayston, David Bradley, Nicholas Clay, Desmond McNamara, Michael Horden, John Gregg, Ronald Pickup.
- (1985/86) Played Gaston, Sancerre and the Russian Prince in "Camille" starring Frances Barber. Others in the cast were Alphonsia Emmanuel, Polly James, Nicholas Farrell, Bernard Horsfall, John Boswell and Charles Milham at the Comedy Theatre in London's west end for 6 months. This was to be prior to a transfer to Broadway.
- (1995/96 ) I played Roy opposite Adam Faith and Louise Lombard and Janet Dibley in "Now You Know" by Michael Frayn directed by Michael Blakemore at the Hampstead Theatre, London, this was followed by a national tour to Aberdeen, Newcastle, Darlington, York,Wolverhampton, Malvern, Llandudno, Cardiff, Bath, Brighton, Chichester, Canterbury,Dartford, Crawley, Guildford,Windsor, Richmond, Oxford and Norwich.
- (1974) Played Wilfred Kirby in "Eden End" by J B Priestley directed by Laurence Olivier. Celebrating Priestley's 80th birthday, National Theatre at the Old Vic. Other cast members were Joan Plowright, Geoffrey Palmer, Leslie Sands, Michael Jayston, Gabrielle Day and Louie Ramsay. Opened in April and besides playing at the Old Vic toured for weeks in Richmond, Leeds, Wolverhampton, Cardiff and Brighton. There is a very amusing drunk scene in the play between the characters of Wilfred and Charlie Appleby played by Paul Gregory and Michael Jayston which received unequivocal rave reviews from the London and provincial press.
- (2006) Played Konrad opposite Jeremy Irons for four performances whilst Patrick Malahide was ill. in "Embers" by Christopher Hampton directed by Michael Blakemore for a special season at the Duke Of York Theatre in London's West end. Other cast member was Jean Boht.
