Exclusive: Dan Fogler’s graphic novel series Moon Lake is getting the TV treatment as Heavy Metal Studios teams with Irony Point’s Daniel Powell and Rick and Morty animation studio Bardel Entertainment for an animated series adaptation of Folger’s work.
Created by Fogler, Moon Lake is a thirty-minute animated TV show, hosted by the Man in the Moon, a farcical character reminiscent of TV anthology hosts of the past, like Rod Serling and Alfred Hitchcock. Held captive by “moon-men” since childhood, The Man prevents these aliens from attacking Earth by keeping them endlessly entertained with shocking tales of gruesome horror and hilarity. Each episode follows a different deranged set of characters in a strange new setting; whether it be following a ghost-whispering cave-woman on prehistoric Earth, a murderous cheerleader at a modern-day high school, or fighters in a bizarre alien war in space, each story plays into campy classic monster,...

Former Emmerdale actor Mathew Bose is to reprise his role as gay barman Paul Lambert for a handful of episodes next month. The 36-year-old announced his decision to leave the rural serial after four years in September 2008 in order to pursue other projects. On screen, his character left the village with husband Jonny Foster (Richard Grieve) after learning that his mother Val (Charlie Hardwick) was lying about his father Rodney's (Patrick Mower) 'fatal heart condition'. However, after more than a year off screen, Paul (more)...

Former Emmerdale star Richard Grieve has started fronting a new Friends of the Earth advertising campaign. The Australian-born actor, who played Jonny Foster in the Yorkshire-based soap, appears in a two-minute YouTube video for the organisation with only farmyard animals as co-stars. The short film sees Grieve taking on the role of a politician who is confronted by a group of singing cows in desperate need of home-grown food. As the story continues, the animals convince Grieve's character to change his mindset by performing their own version of Little Shop Of Horrors number 'Feed Me'. Speaking of his new role, the soap star commented: "I was shocked to find out that producing meat and dairy (more)...

In The Spotlight — Emmerdale
This week we bid a fond farewell to Emmerdale’s Paul Lambert (out actor Matthew Bose) and Jonny Foster (Richard Grieve), by taking a look back at their relationship as they exit the series for a new life in Australia – oh, yeah, and to give their troubled marriage a second (or is it third?) chance. It’s been a long hard road for this couple that found their love tested time and again.
Matthew Bose (left) and Richard Grieve
During Paul’s years living in Emmerdale, he endured a series of unsuccessful relationships and tumultuous events including the night he rescued his neighbor Grayson Sinclair (Christopher Villiers) during an assault (and somehow managing to learn of Grayson’s bisexuality in the process0. Grayson’s wife, Perdy (who is aware of her husband’s bisexuality) instantly concluded Paul and Grayson were secretly lovers, but once Paul convinced...

Getting To Know … Shameless
The love life of gay teenager Ian Gallagher (Gerard Kearns) on the U.K. series Shameless has never been easy. Whether it’s having to steal a bed just so he can have sex with his hot new boyfriend (somehow landing in prison because of it), trying to keep his ongoing affair with a married man a secret, or that fling with a homophobic drug dealer who has a strange sexual quirk (big surprise), something always comes along to make finding love (or just getting laid) a trying ordeal for poor Ian.
Gerard Kearns as Ian Gallagher
Shameless, which airs on Channel 4, the same network that brings us Hollyoaks, is a dark and perverse comedy/drama about the twisted lives of the extremely dysfunctional Gallagher family, as well as their friends and their enemies. Created by Paul Abbott, who is also the executive producer, the series...

In this edition of Gays Of Our Lives, we introduce “In The Spotlight,” a new recurring feature where we examine in depth a particular series, character or storyline of gay interest.
First up, Casualty’s Dr. Toby De Silva, played by Matthew Needham, who bid goodbye this past week to the long running BBC medical series after a story arc during which the character struggled not only with his sexuality, but with his decision to become a doctor as well.
When Toby first joined the show in September 2007, his conflict over whether or not to be a doctor was quickly apparent as we learned that his overbearing parents had forced him into medicine. And while his relationships with women were rare, fleeting and usually disastrous, there hadn’t been much of an inkling regarding Toby being gay – at least not until he was found in bed with Ben Harding (Mark Letheren...

Emmerdale actor Richard Grieve is to reprise his role as lovelorn Jonny Foster at the beginning of next year. The 38-year-old Australian actor, who was axed by producer Anita Turner in April, will make his comeback as the gay Yorkshire character at the same time as Allo Allo actress Vicki Michelle, who plays his on-screen mother Patricia. Patricia returns to the village in an attempt to reunite her son and his husband Paul Lambert (Mathew Bose). Both Patricia and Jonny find themselves in a head-to-head battle with Paul's mother Vale (Charlie Hardwick), who pulls out all the stops in an attempt to prevent her son from leaving the village. Grieve said of his return: "There is definitely unfinished business between Jonny and Paul and so it will be interesting to see if they have a future together. I thoroughly enjoyed playing Jonny and couldn't (more)...
