The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering Jeepers Creepers 2 was Written and Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Joseph Wilson, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Way back in 2001, Jeepers Creepers introduced us to a very effective movie monster who likes nothing more than to harvest and then eat the organs of human beings. The film, starring Justin Long and Gina Philips was hugely popular, and managed to rake in almost $60 million dollars internationally from a reported budget of just $10 million dollars. When you factor in the subsequent profit the film will have made from the various home entertainment revenue streams, you can see why it’s spawned three sequels, to date. The first movie took the horror landscape by surprise, so naturally the first sequel wouldn’t be far away, and before you could say ‘please don’t...

No genre is as prolific as horror, so it’s understandable that movies fall through the cracks all the time. That is where this new recurring column, Deep Cuts, comes in. While some movies remain popular and talked about, regardless of age, countless others have faded into the background or obscurity.
Each themed installment of this series will spotlight several overlooked, unappreciated or generally unknown movies from the past — some from way back when, and others from not so long ago — that could use some more attention.
The first edition of this column will look at horror movies featuring wintry settings. It may not feel or look like winter wherever you are right now, but somewhere it’s cold. And with a frosty backdrop, the five winter horror movies here feel more bleak than usual.

Unsuspecting party guests find out the hard way that Davenport House is home to a vengeful spirit in The Haunting of Alice D. With the new horror film now out on DVD and Digital from Rlj Entertainment, we caught up with Jessica Sonneborn in our latest Q&A feature to discuss her experiences writing, directing, and co-starring in the The Haunting of Alice D, working with Kane Hodder, and much more.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Jessica. How did you come up with the idea for your new film, The Haunting of Alice D?
Jessica Sonneborn: I wanted to create a “cabin in the woods” style horror movie with a major twist that made it unique from other films like it. I was trying to think of something that could be done on a shoestring budget, but that also had some depth to it.

What do you get when you cross bio-engineering, strippers, deadly fish, gold-flake cinnamon drank, and lovable losers? You get awesome, is what you get. This particular serving of awesome is called 'Piranha Sharks', and it comes to you from the mind of one Leigh Scott. Sigh. Yes, 'Transmorphers' Leigh Scott. No, this is not 'Transmorphers'. Relax.
Piranha Sharks are bio-engineered creatures, that are repackaged, and targeted towards kids, as the year's hot new Christmas item. However, when the animals make their way into the New York water system, it falls on Jackson (Collin Galyean), and his pest-killing buddies (John Wells, and Josh Hammond) to get rid of them, before they destroy the city.
The writing works first, to set this film apart. It takes a shot at many of the cheesy indie cliches, with hilarious class, and accuracy.

While the makers of cheesy shark movies keep trying to come up with the next big thing, writer-director Leigh Scott is thinking smaller with his new horror-comedy Piranha Sharks. We’re gonna need a bigger aquarium!
Forget about that Sharknado soon to strike New York City, great white sharks the size of piranhas are swarming the Big Apple in this tongue-in-jaws nature gone amok flick from Leigh Scott (The Penny Dreadful Picture Show, Dorothy & the Witches of Oz).
Josh Hammond, John Wells, Noel Thurman, and Jessica Sonneborn are amongst those forced to contend with the man-eating, mutant, pint-sized apex predators that get loose in the plumbing of New York City.
Synopsis:
Great white sharks bio-engineered to be the size of piranhas with the purpose of living in rich people's exotic aquariums terrorize New York City when they get into the water supply and do what great white sharks do best.

In his follow up to Emerging Past, director Thomas J. Churchill combines film noir with an impending zombie apocalypse in this new trailer for Lazarus.
Plus here’s a look at the making of the film.
1957 Hollywood CA. A telegram arrives at the office of George Lazarus, an Insurance Investigator to investigate a suspicious claim that was just put in by Deadly Sin Cigarette Company. Lazarus begins to schedule routine interviews with the twelve employees that are named on this claim. He learns that they all had just gotten fired for being sick at the job. …He never makes it back to the office. What seemed to be a normal Fraud Investigation case … may have turned out to be the beginning of the end for the human race.
His fiancée Bethany begins to worry as she realizes that he hasn’t been back at the office since early that morning when she last saw him.

Filmmaker Thomas J. Churchill provided us an exclusive first look at the new trailer, behind-the-scenes video, and stills for his upcoming and ambitious zombie/period feature Lazarus last night, and we think you should have a look at the film's sexy, 1950’s goodness.
Set in 1957 Hollywood, writer/director Churchill’s Lazarus revolves around the character of George Lazarus (Ray Capuana), an insurance investigator who schedules routine interviews with twelve employees of the Deadly Sin Cigarette Company upon receipt of a rather suspicious insurance claim. In the process he learns that all twelve had recently been fired for being sick at the job, and then subsequently and without a trace, he disappears. Two weeks later, with Lazarus now a missing person, his heart-sick fiancée, Bethany Loomis (Natalie Victoria), along with Chip (Kevin Franklin), undertakes the task of finding him. It seemed rather fitting that we hit the set of writer, director and producer Thomas J. Churchill’s ambitious zombie feature Lazarus on Easter Sunday, and we’re glad we did.
Battling the throngs of Sunday worshippers who’d clogged Los Angeles’ concrete arteries for Hollywood Bowl’s Easter Mass, we made our way to Tarzana, CA, where filmmaker Churchill had set up shop at Waggin’ Tails Lounge, a dog grooming facility owned by his cousin, Kathie Fiorillo. Shooting day twelve of thirteen on the Canon 5D, Churchill was prepping a scene which would feature the re-animation of the dead, and while it may be poised to enter the already bloated sub-genre of independent zombie cinema, readers, do please take note: Lazarus seems to be hell-bent on offering an entirely fresh take.

Based on true events, the film is a happy-happy-fun time story (insert sarcasm there) about the abduction, rape and murder of two high school girls and the fallout that nearly decimates a small Mid-Western town as long buried secrets surface when the police begin to put together the pieces of the crime. This was the first episode of the season which looked at two separate cases. In the first, a woman turns up at party, attacked and bloodied; leaving a bloody handprint on the car outside. Her name is Robin Prescott (Michelle Hicks) and Flack (Eddie Cahill) says she only recalled her name after being asked four times and was attacked in Central Park. Mac (Gary Sinise) : "We've got ourselves an 800sq metre crime scene." In the second case, Jordy (Sven Holmberg)is shot. No shell casings are found and Aiden (Vanessa Ferlito) believes the murder weapon to be a revolver. He appears to be a drug user and has track marks on his ankles. The entry wound appears to be larger than a needle. The tissue around the wound is uneven and fibres are frayed outwards. The gun spatter also seems unusual. Mac: "something exited our entrance wound." Stella (Melina Kanakaredes...

If Tyler Perry had a horror counterpart, his name would be Deon Taylor. The man knows his audience and churns out films non-stop. Taylor, who gave us Nite Tales (an urban horror anthology with Flavor Flav), the upcoming Nite Tales 2 and Chain Letter shepherded a new thriller this year called Dead Tone . Co-directed by and starring Brian Hooks (Taylor also directs), the premise is simple: College kids start a prank phone call game and invite evil to f**k with their lives. Josh Hammond ( Jeepers Creepers 2 ) co-stars as does...Rutger Hauer. We've got the trailer below. As you'll see, it's part of the Nite Tales brand. Dead Tone arrives on DVD February 9 from Screen Media.
