The Kung Fu Panda universe has earned an unparalleled level of respect and commendation from fans ever since it was first launched on the big screens in 2008. And inevitably enough, a major credit for this skyrocketed fame goes to none other than Po’s voice actor, Jack Black. Thanks to his immaculate animated voice-acting skills, viewers got roped into the saga like wildfires in Savanna.

That being said, when Jack Black was initially offered this fan-favorite role, he wasn’t all too sure about taking it on. After all, jumping from the live-action genre to the animated one isn’t the easiest, especially when it is the lead character that you have to voice. But amazingly, DreamWorks actually used one of Black’s own masterpieces to convince him to voice the beloved Dragon Warrior!

Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man is heading to the big screen courtesy of Dreamworks and Universal, here are the details.
Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, written by Nicholas Stoller and directed by David Soren, is one of the funniest, most delightful animated films of recent years. It even boasts a brilliant theme song by Weird Al Yankovic. The brief clad superhero ought to have had many more big screen adventures, but it wasn’t to be, although a short lived television series is still available to watch on Netflix.
Back in 2020, we heard that author Dav Pilkey’s other hit novel series Dog Man was heading to the big screen. The series consists of 11 books, with the 12th due to be published in March, and has sold over 60 million copies. We finally have some more concrete details about the film, which is nearing completion.
The synopsis reads as follows,...

Universal Pictures on Monday afternoon unveiled Dog Man, an animated feature adaptation of the beloved book series by Dav Pilkey — the author-illustrator best known for his enduringly popular kids’ graphic novel series Captain Underpants. Dog Man has been slated by the studio to open wide on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Previously on the release schedule as Untitled DreamWorks Animation Film, the movie has no competitors yet on the release calendar as it looks to its first weekend in theaters.
Directed by Emmy winner Peter Hastings (The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants), Dog Man‘s plot is thrust into motion when a dog and a police officer are injured together on the job. A life-saving surgery thereafter changes the course of history when Dog Man is born. Half dog, half man, Dog Man is sworn to protect and serve — as long as he isn’t distracted by squirrels — as he doggedly pursues his...

Turning Disney theme park attractions is a relatively new-ish concept, but the movies based on Disney attractions vary wildly in quality.
The story goes that Dick Cook, who at the time was running the Disney film studio with Nina Jacobson, had originally come up with the idea to “mine the theme parks for movie ideas” (as James B. Stewart put it in “Disney War”). They had made “The Country Bears” and were working on projects based on classic Disney attractions Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion. At the time, Pirates was envisioned as a direct-to-video cheapie, more along the lines of “Tower of Terror,” which debuted as an inexpensive TV on “The Wonderful World of Disney.”
But during a meeting about whether Disney should invest in “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,” an expensive Peter Weir movie starring Russell Crowe (they declined), the idea was...

Universal Pictures has set a March 8, 2024 release date for Kung Fu Panda 4.
The latest chop socky pic from the movie franchise that features Po and the Furious Five will take the place of the untitled DreamWorks Animation film. Inspired by traditional martial arts and set in ancient China, the Kung Fu Panda film series tells the epic tale of wide-eyed Po, whose love of kung fu is matched only by an insatiable appetite.
The Academy Award-nominated 2008 inaugural chapter — with the lovable bear Po that is the Chinese panda voiced by Jack Black — became DreamWorks’ highest-grossing original animated film.
The original Kung Fu Panda movie launched a trilogy that has earned more than 1.8 billion at the global box office. With its massive fan base, the franchise has expanded to a cross-category consumer products program, video games, an Emmy Award-winning television series and global theme-park attractions.

“Uncharted” fans were more than a little delighted when the original Nathan Drake showed up on screen toward the end of the film. And yes, Nolan North loved it just as much, but it was definitely a long road to making it happen.
Based on the PlayStation video games from Naughty Dog, “Uncharted” has been in development for years, going through a handful of possible stars, and more than a few directors. But North was in touch with most of them.
“I had met with a couple of the past directors over time, and everybody always wanted to kind of have have me in there somewhere,” North told TheWrap. Both he and the directors were fully aware how much the fans wanted to see him.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is the latest entry in one of DreamWorks Animation’s more fruitful universes. The third TV series in the franchise born from 2008’s animated feature film Kung Fu Panda (followed by big-screen sequels in 2011 and 2016), it marks nearly 15 years of storytelling around Po, a giant, energetic and endearing — if imperfect — panda who becomes a master of Kung Fu after being prophesied as the Dragon Warrior.
Arriving on Netflix this July with the weight of more than a decade worth of adventures proceeding it, The Dragon Knight manages to set itself a part in Po’s ever-growing story, taking Kung Fu Panda in new directions.

Skadoosh. DreamWorks Animation and Netflix have released the first trailer for “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight,” an upcoming series adapted from the popular series of films starring Jack Black as the voice of the eponymous martial arts master bear.
The trailer showcases Black’s Po as he begins another journey across China, this time teaming up with the Wandering Blade (voiced by Rita Ora) to take on a pair of mischievous weasels named Klaus and Veruca who want to destroy the world by collecting a quartet of ancient artifacts with magical powers. James Hong also reprises his voice role as Mr. Ping, a noodle-cooking goose who is Po’s adoptive father, after appearing in all three “Kung Fu Panda” movies — this time around, Ping looks to be getting in on the action.
“I could save China!” Black’s Po exclaims. “That would be the perfect way for me to reclaim my title.

There are a lot of secret siblings on television.
Plenty of TV shows tend to build their foundation on common tropes such as the cringe-worthy love triangle trope and the long lost sibling trope.
If you need to stir up some drama, especially in a campy teen series, there's no better way than by bringing in a secret sibling that's jealous, scorned, vengeful, broken, betrayed, looking for a family, or all of the above.
Some secret siblings are introduced in a sensical way with the serious laying some breadcrumbs leading up to the introduction.
Other reveals come out of left field and frustrate audiences by appearing as mere plot devices thrown in for the sake of it.
And sometimes, the trope works well as the secret siblings become pivotal to the storyline and the main character's development.

Netflix and Dreamworks Animation have announced that they have a new slate of animated series projects in development that are set to launch next year. One of the most exciting projects that came with the announcement includes a revival of the classic 80s series She-Ra: Princess of Power!
I hope that the series turns out to be good. I think it's something that my girls are going to love. I'm sure most of you are familiar with She-Ra, but if not, she is also known as Princess Adora and is the twin sister of Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man. She was kidnapped as a baby by the Horde's leader Hordak. She is eventually given the Sword of Protection, which parallels He-Man's Sword of Power, gaining the power to transform into She-Ra.
The series is being developed by showrunner Noelle Stevenson, who is the Eisner-winning co-creator of Lumberjanes. Here’s...

Room for Tom Bombadil could easily be found in Amazon's Lord Of The Rings prequel TV series. Could this be his on-screen chance?
In a letter to the writer and poet Naomi Mitchison, who had been proof-reading The Lord Of The Rings for him, J. R. R. Tolkien described Tom Bombadil as an "enigma", "intentionally" so, and admitted that the character was "not an important person to the narrative" but added that he would not have left him in "if he did not have some kind of function". Bombadil represents, Tolkien suggested, "a natural pacifist view", a character who has access to immense power but chooses not to wield it, but rather to observe and not to participate in the wars around him. He had a symbolic importance to the overall story (not allegorical – a point both Tolkien and his friend C. S. Lewis were quite firm on,...

Pretty Little Liars enters its final ten episodes. Expect twists, revelations and general chaos...
This review contains spoilers.

7.11 Playtime
Speaking on behalf of the majority of Pretty Little Liars fans in this episode, in response to Mona’s question of “do you trust me?”, Hannah replies, “sometimes”. As we enter these final ten episodes of the crazy, emotional, often transcendent ride that has been this show, we’re at a crossroads. We can approach the end with suspicion and measured expectations, or we can just relax and go along for the ride.
Because while a lot of people were let down by the Charlotte reveal a season ago (it feels longer, doesn’t it?) we cannot disregard all of the wonderful things the show has done. The Mona reveal was one of them, and the commitment to character over mystery another.

What does it mean when the board game was the scene stealer?
On Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 11, the liars discover that A.D. is still at large, and they aren't any safer than they thought they were. Now they are trying to move on while the chaos from Season 7 Episode 10 is still haunting them along with a brand new board game.
I have to say, this new twist from A.D. might save the conclusion of the show because the stakes didn't seem that big for a while.
This might just be me, but A.D. could be anyone, so this new form of torturing the liars brings it a full circle as to why I started watching to begin with.
This board game is actually very elaborate, hiding a lot inside, and it's hauntingly perceptive. It might be weird to care this much about a game, but that might be their downfall,...

Genetics and ancestry are complicated on Freeform's long-running hit Pretty Little Liars. We've seen Jason Dilaurentis discover that Peter Hastings is actually his biological father; Alison find out that she has a sister, then that said sister was actually her cousin; and in a Pll bombshell, the season 6 finale revealed that Mrs. Dilaurentis has a twin: Mary Drake, who was locked in Radley for years and kept a secret. If only it ended there ... nope. The season 7 mid-season finale revealed that Mary is Spencer's biological mother, so now the question is: who is her father? Let's go over some contenders.

7.10 The DArkest Night
Here we are, in the final days of our beloved high school murder mystery. The DArkest Knight was the last finale before the series finale, and did it deliver? Kind-of.
In my season six finale review I complained that the show had lost its flavour, the things that made it different, and become a parody of itself. While I'm not quite retracting that argument, I do feel like season seven has been a marked improvement. I'm excited about it again, and episodes like Hit and Run, Run, Run deserve to sit alongside the show's strongest outings.
More than anything, though, I'm ready for it to end. Not because it's terrible now, as some people are saying, but because I love it, and think it deserves to go out on its own terms.
We start this finale in the middle of a scene,...

Is Hanna now out of danger?
Jay: Is anyone in Rosewood ever out of danger? I think she may be in more danger than before. We don't know anything about Mary and her capabilities.
Rachel: Nope! Mary just so happen to be near the area Hanna was escaping from. We all know there aren’t any coincidences in Rosewood. Mary could in fact be the one Hanna should be afraid of.

Forgot how ridiculous it looks to wear a ping-pong ball covered black lycra suit. According to prolific games actor Nolan North - best known for his role as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series - doing performance capture is far more serious and rewarding than it appears.
He says it's something closer to the world of theatre than television or movies, forcing performers to work together and use their imagination in order to bring an actor's movements, expressions and voice to life in games and visual effects-laden films.
"When I started out doing theatre, you do something like black box theatre, where there's very minimal props and it's all about the interaction. For me, it always seemed a lot like that," Nolan told Digital Spy.
"We are playing around with things that aren't there in the game, that you don't see. Maybe some of the guns will be plastic little fake guns,...

Pretty Little Liars fans, rejoice! The second half of the fifth season premieres tonight on ABC Family. We received a little taste of Rosewood with the “ChristmAs” special last month; however, Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) are officially back in business. And the first question on everyone’s mind — as it has been for the past five years — is, “Who the hell is A?”
Reddit users have some pretty wild theories on who exactly lies underneath the black hoodie. There are solid arguments that one of the core four girls is A, with particular suspicions toward Aria and Hanna. However, we also have a few wildcard theories — like, um, Emily’s dad Wayne. But that’s not all Reddit users are discussing. One sleuthing user has a theory that asserts Bethany is Jessica Dilaurentis’ daughter, while another accuses Mrs. Dilaurentis of resenting...
