Hallmark's latest holiday film, airing Friday, November 17 at 8/7 on the Hallmark Channel, reminds us of the importance of Christmas miracles. The lighthouse shines bright, locals care about each other, and the film features small-town charm.
Navigating Christmas features three people -- Melanie, Peter, and Jason, who have been disillusioned and hurt by those they love and find themselves healing by the spirit of the holidays.
Melanie Hobbs, Stephen Huszar, and Everett Andres star in this film, and none of them are strangers to the Hallmark franchise.
But this film was unique because Chelsea Hobbs and Everett Andres had previously portrayed mother and son on The Holiday Sitter in 2022. That helped to build a realistic connection between them.
Everett Andres sold this film. If you ask anyone, it's difficult being a divorced kid, but especially that first Christmas.
You only want your parents to get back together, but you hesitate...

Halloween has come and gone and it’s time to start celebrating the holidays. Ok, well, Lifetime (and some of its competitors) began decking their lineups with new Christmas movies before Oct. 30 — but now it’s really time to start making the season bright.

We can all agree that 2020 is definitely getting coal in its stocking.
Fortunately, Lifetime is playing Santa and gifting us with a star-studded, wholesome, inclusive, and highly-anticipated slew of Christmas films. Let's face it, we can take all the cheesy, teeth-achingly sweet, warm, and fuzzy goodness we can get.
Lifetime's Christmas lineup is the gift that keeps on giving with sequels, Lifetime Christmas queens, legends and icons, and some of our favorite faces.
We're talking Kelly Rowland, Kyla Pratt, and Fran Drescher. We have Mario Lopez, Vanessa Lachey, Aaron Ashmore, and Gilles Marini. Oh, and there's Marie Osmond, a Tiffany Haddish directed film, Jason Priestley, and Melissa Joan Hart.
Seriously, the casting alone is all holiday cheers and no jeers.
And the best part is we can kickstart all the fun early, since according to EW, the first film of the lineup, Christmas on Ice, will air on October. 23.

Christmas might not be until December, but some networks are slapping on their mittens and gearing up for the holiday season as early as October.
Families often find themselves gathered around the TV binging some of Hallmark or Lifetime’s latest Christmas-themed films, and this year is no exception. With people around the country encouraged to stay indoors and avoid crowded locations, Variety breaks down a list of feel-good Christmas movies to tune into this year.
As part of Lifetime’s “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” holiday movie slate, the channel will premiere 30 original TV movies beginning Oct. 23 and running through mid-December. In its efforts to diversify the stories it showcases, Lifetime said it worked with GLAAD and Cape (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) for its first-ever LGBTQ-led film “The Christmas Setup” and “A Sugar & Spice Holiday” centering on an Asian American family.
More films will be added to the list as networks announce them.

Even though a lot of people like to pretend they don't pay attention to their more romantic sides by watching networks like Hallmark, Up, Lifetime and others, we know you can't ignore a story with a happy ending.
Gary Goldstein has been writing some pretty terrific movies of the genre while Ruth Clampett has made her name with books of a similar nature. One of her most appreciated works is Mr. 365, featuring the story of a man who lives Christmas year around and the woman who wants to put him on TV.
Goldstein optioned the book for a screenplay, and this season you can find it on PassionFlix. If you haven't heard of it, there is no time like Christmas to treat yourself to a free trial so you can see what it's all about. Hint: It turns up the heat a little!
I had the opportunity to ask both Mr.

The current season of ABC’s Make It or Break It will be the show’s last.
EW has confirmed ABC Family is pulling the plug on the teen drama, which closes out its season (and now the series) on May 14.
The news comes after the departure of a few fan favorites. At end of last season, the series bid farewell to Chelsea Hobbs, whose character was the focus of the show, and lost Josh Bowman to Revenge. Neil Jackson’s Sasha, the team’s coach, has also been largely absent from the current season.

Nick (George Eads) is at an art galley with a thus far unnamed woman, who we're meant to assume is his date. They talk about the exhibits and she asks what's significant about the pieces. Nick decides to play along with one exhibit, when some liquid drips onto his shirt which he identifies as human remains. Db (Ted Danson) arrives at the scene and questions Nick on his date. He replies she's Doc Robbins (Robert David Hall) niece, Callie (Caitlin Custer) and he's showing her around. Db thinks there's more to it than that. Nick has removed his shirt (well he's wearing a vest underneath!) and catches the dripping liquid in a cup. The artist, Slade's (Theo Stockman) work is from things he found discarded at a rubbish tip and Db wants the location, or it's the Bastille (jail) for him. Blocks of cement are found at the tip and...

The stars were out in full force for last night’s Teen Choice Awards 2011. From Gossip Girl to The Vampire Diaries, Twilight to Fright Night, everyone mixed and mingled. While Taylor Lautner and Chord Overstreet hung out mano a mano, Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively clicked pics of each other on their cell phones. So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley chatted up proud papa David Beckham when he wasn’t taking snapshots of his boys with their favorite performers.

A Db is found buried in the sand, another is found stacked inside a washer and a third is found impaled on a spike sculpture. Calleigh (Emily Procter) is pretty vexed and questions what type of person puts a girl out in the laundry. Tripp (Rex Linn) blames it on Spring Break. Calleigh given the limelight now, away from Horatio (David Caruso) when she has the last line before the credits, "There are going to be consequences." Ryan (Jonathan Togo) believes the sand constricted the Db's lungs, suffocating him. Since when did Ryan start second guessing before the evidence is in (my fave phrase). He's not an expert on determining Cod. Jesse (Eddie Cibrian) thinks he most likely drowned as the tide was high. Me Tom (Christian Clemenson) will enlighten them. There was probably more than one killer. Ryan is adament that it's a prank gone wrong and the tide ended it.

Cassie Scerbo is reaching for the brass ring. The talented and gorgeous 20-year-old first gained recognition playing Brooke in Bring It On: In It to Win It (2007) and now co-stars on the popular ABC Family series Make It or Break It (TV). The show, currently in its second season and airing after Pretty Little Liars, casts Scerbo as Lauren Tanner, the mean girl among a group of would-be Olympic gymnasts. Also on the way is the film Not Another Not Another Movie, due for release later this year and featuring Burt Reynolds, Chevy Chase and Vinnie Jones. PopStar recently caught up with Scerbo for an exclusive interview during which she previewed things to come on Make It or Break It, and discussed other upcoming projects. Go back a step. How confident were you when Make It or Break It was about to start that it would click with viewers? I...

For Make It or Break It's Cassie Scerbo, playing the mean girl is fun, but she's glad viewers will get to see a more vulnerable side to her character Lauren by the end of the season. "A lot of people look at her like she's so crazy, but she's crying out for love," the 20-year-old tells TVGuide.com. "By the end of the season people are going to understand Lauren a lot more." As Season 2 wraps up, teen gymnasts Lauren, Kaylie (Josie Loren), Payson (Ayla Kell) and Emily (Chelsea Hobbs) are getting closer to making their Olympic dreams come true, but there's no shortage of boy drama, serious health issues, and acts of betrayal at their training center, The Rock.

A popular ABC Family series is about to land some new episodes.
The gymnastics-themed drama "Make It or Break It" is set to premiere its second season on the cable network June 28.
The original series will pick up right where it left off as the talented young athletes of the Rocky Mountain Gymnastic Training Center — aka The Rock — find themselves facing yet another tense situation following their meet with the Chinese National Team. The confidence of the team members begins to wane as the U.S. National Team starts a strict evaluation of the group and who will make the cut for an upcoming competition in France. Kaylie, Emily and Lauren (Josie Lauren, Chelsea Hobbs, Cassie Scerbo) are already concerned about their chances, but the return of reinvigorated Payson (Ayla Kell) really puts a hitch in the lineup.

Wtf?
Carter chose Lauren?
Over Kaylie?
Perhaps this is why Cassie Scerbo (Lauren) had that crafty little grin on her face when I asked her about the love triangle last fall.
Well, mazel tov to Ms. Lauren. She has been there for Carter all along. And the girl could certainly use some solid love in her life. Something we suspect that Carter can provide.
So, are we cool with this "Make It or Break It" finale -- which stands as the series' second-most-watched telecast in total viewers (2.5 million) and which, btw, beat "Gossip Girl" too -- or do we feel bad for Kayles and want to strangle Lauren with one of her stretchy leos?

I’m going to be completely honest here. I did not tackle this series because I thought it could actually be decent as it’s given law most anything on ABC Family will be close to unbearable. See folks, I gave into that little devil inside of me, the one that has an appetite for women. I mean, look at that cover, with all those pretty, young bodies in tight uniforms.
That sound you hear is me about to be taken away by the proper authorities, but they’ve allowed me to finish this review, which might be my last for a while (hold your applause.) “Make It Or Break It” is essentially every single family-oriented sports show ever made. There’s the one who’s totally dedicated, the spoiled and undertalented one, the new kid with exceptional talent, and the tough chick of the group.

The success of ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" is no fluke.
Premiering the back half of its second season to 4.5 million viewers on Monday (Jan. 4) -- 2.12 million were adults between the ages of 18 to 49 and 3 million between 12 to 34 -- "Secret Life"'s return is now cable's No. 1 scripted premiere of the '09-'10 season in key demos, beating the debuts of TNT's Ray Romano series "Men of a Certain Age" (2.08 million, 18-49) and FX's "Nip/Tuck" (1.90 million, 18-49).
More good news for the network came as "Secret Life"'s lead-out "Make It or Break It" started the second half of its first season with 2.7 million tuning in (1.2 million adults 18 to 49, 1.7 million 12 to 34) at 9 o'clock.
To put this in perspective, there are more people on average watching "Make It or Break It" than "Gossip Girl" or "90210," and "Secret Life" is pulling numbers those CW shows would cut someone for.

Lauren is "Make It or Break It's" bad girl. She lost, you know, it to her best friend's boyfriend and instead of owning up to her mistake, she actually tried to steal him away.
So far: Mission failed.
Carter was quite clear about the fact that he loves Kaylie, not Lauren.
But since Kaylie's giving Carter the ice cold shoulder now, could there be a chance for CarLau (pronounced Carlo... I made it up... thoughts?)?
According to Cassie Scerbo, Carter's beginning to see Lauren in a new light.

Now that Kaylie Cruz is a national champion, her life has apparently changed. That's what Josie Loren -- who stars as Kaylie on "Make It or Break It" -- tells us in the clip below.
And since Payson is the gymnast whom everyone always thought would take that title, it sounds like Kaylie may be a bit less prepared for the fame and notoriety.
She's also not prepared to forgive her cheating ex, Carter, or Lauren (Cassie Scerbo) whom he cheated with.
