Hollywood has never had a healthy relationship with sex. Torn between leering salaciousness and code-mandated puritanism, the end results on-screen have often been messy, thematically conflicted, and deeply unsexy. Much has been made about the state of on-screen sensuality in 2022 and the blockbuster age, where ultra-muscular and fit bodies are fetishized yet entirely divorced from sex itself. As one viral article published last year in Blood Knife out it, "everyone is beautiful and no one is horny."
Things are improving in small ways, mostly on streaming thanks to shows like "Bridgerton" that undeniably f***, but everything remains pretty limited in terms of what goes on between the sheets. Kink of any kind is still a no-go topic for screens big and small. While the highly profitable adaptation of the much-derided "Fifty Shades" trilogy was sold as a journey into the dark pleasure of Bdsm, the end results were decidedly vanilla and not all that erotic.

Downtown Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville, Diy Sos star Nick Knowles and ex-EastEnders Larry Lamb and Michelle Collins also highlight the skills, attitude and knowledge ex-soldiers, sailors and airmen can bring to employers.
Entitled, ‘Veterans Work’, the films, by The Drive Project, were produced to encourage UK businesses to consider veterans as viable options to fill vacancies.
Their release follows a study by Deloitte and the Officers’ Association and the Forces in Mind Trust, which revealed UK plc is failing to realise the potential of veterans, putting ex-military personnel at a disadvantage.
The alarming revelation emerged despite nearly 2,000 British businesses having signing the Armed Forces Covenant – a Ministry of Defence scheme designed...

There are certain films that when I'm watching I think, "How cool would it be if I were there right now?" And by there, I don't just mean the physical location--but, inside the story and a part of it. Sometimes I dream of being one of the characters (Lee Holloway) and others, perhaps just a sideline observer who could wander through Hogwarts Castle, marveling at all the magical oddities.
What if you really could walk into a movie, step into a particular film and be part of the story? Would you want to take over a the main character's plotline or go in as yourself, an additional character who might or might not affect the whole thing? Maybe you'd opt to be fill a supporting role or just be in the middle of it all, observing the goings on? Did you always imagine yourself as Ethan Hunt or James Bond?...

#8 – “Secretary” (2002)
Directed by Steven Shainberg
Dispensing with the customary flowers, chocolates and warm sentiments so prevalent in modern romances in favour of earthworms, red marker pens, harnesses and plenty of healthy spankings “Secretary” is certainly not your average romantic comedy. But though the pre-publicity veered towards the more salacious aspects of the narrative (especially with the iconically memorable “teaser” poster) the film ultimately delights with its quirky screenplay, stunning cast and, above all, the warmth and heart that beats beneath its sadomasochistically sexy exterior.
This was the film that not only allowed the divine Maggie Gyllenhaal to step out from the shadow of her younger sibling Jake but, perhaps more importantly, instigated my current love, admiration and part time obsession for her. In the role of Lee Holloway she delivers a truly outstanding performance that is in equal parts brave,...

Today is Administrative Professionals Day, a time when we celebrate all of the hard work put in by administrative assistants, receptionists and other key front-office positions. There's a lengthy history in film of great receptionists, men and women who weather abuse, juggle unpredictable schedules and occasionally go above and beyond, all in the name of pleasing their bosses in one way or another. So I'm here to take a moment to recognize these brave fictional souls who put up with so much and frequently get so little in return.
Lee Holloway -- "Secretary"
You can't have an Administrative Professionals' Day movie list without making some reference to Maggie Gyllenhaal's starring role in "Secretary." She plays Lee Holloway, a young women recovering from emotional issues severe enough to cause her to harm herself. She lands a job in the front-office of an attorney (James Spader) with whom she begins having Bdsm relationship.

Some may disagree, but I think there's something pretty cool about Toronto's mayor David Miller coming out to declare how proud he is of Atom Egoyan's new erotic thriller "Chloe." Of course, Miller was more likely taking pride in the depiction of his fair city than the film itself, which opens with Amanda Seyfried putting on a lacy black brassiere and never looks back. Egoyan has never shied away from the erotic -- it's the thrills part that has eluded his work for mainstream audiences, and when we meet Catherine (Julianne Moore) at the start of "Chloe," she, too, is dissatisfied.
As a locally prestigious gynecologist, Catherine is smart and sophisticated, but in a foretelling scene, she informs a patient that orgasms are "just a series of muscle contractions." When her husband (Liam Neeson) fails to return home for a surprise birthday party she has planned for him, Catherine...

There is a lot of really bizarre S & M in the ‘The Secretary’, and moreover there is nudity and general freakiness. You’d be hard-pressed (I hope) to watch this movie with your mother in the room. I’m telling you that at the beginning so that those who feel it necessary can leave the room now. Let’s face it, I don’t care what your schedule says, you might be in the wrong room, and there’s no shame in that. There is no trick, or so they say, in standing up for me when you know I’m right. I can get anyone to do that. The trick is standing up for me when you know I’m wrong. ‘The Secretary’ is about as close as you can come to a movie with only two people in it without going all the way over to ‘My Dinner...
