Los Angeles, Feb 15 (Ians) Indian-origin actress Indira Varma, who is known for ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1’, and ‘Homeland’ actor Raza Jaffrey are set to co-host a new espionage podcast for Wondery.
Indira is the child of an Indian father and a Swiss mother who was of part Genoese Italian descent. Her mother was a graphic designer and her father was an illustrator.

Season 1 is titled ‘The Spy Who Inspired 007’ and tells the story of Serbian spook Dusko Popov, who worked for MI5, MI6 and the FBI during World War II.

[This story contains spoilers from Fargo’s season five finale, “Bisquik.”]
For Fargo season five star Juno Temple, nothing was going to get in the way of Dorothy “Dot” Lyon’s mostly happy ending.
When the dust settled on Noah Hawley’s tremendous fifth season of Fargo, Dot finally overcame her wickedly abusive ex-husband Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm), his hired gun who happened to be a 500-year-old sin-eater named Ole Munch (Sam Spruell) and her mistrustful mother-in-law, Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh). Dot thought her quarrel with Munch was settled when he saved her and freed her at Roy’s ranch so she could put a stop to the latter’s vicious cycle of abuse once and for all, but a year after Roy ended up in handcuffs, Dot and her daughter Scotty (Sienna King) arrived home to see Munch sitting in their living room with their respective, unsuspecting husband and father, Wayne (David Rysdahl...

A 10-episode season is far too short a time to spend with Dot, Wayne, Scotty, Lorraine, Witt, Roy, Indira, and, yes, even Gator. Unfortunately, that’s all we get with FX’s Fargo season five as episode 10, “Bisquik,” brings the second-best season of the series to a close.
The season finale opens with the now-blind Gator (Joe Keery) deserted by his dad and left to make it back to the ranch on his own. He whines as he repeatedly falls and then eventually makes it into the secret tunnel almost by accident.
Gator emerges from the tunnel in a field and is immediately spotted by the FBI. He throws up his hands, no longer the arrogant vape-addict we’ve come to know and loathe.
Meanwhile, “patriots” line the ranch’s fence on Roy Tillman’s orders, fully prepared to take on the FBI. North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr (Lamorne Morris...

Fargo’s fifth season wrapped up on Tuesday in classic Fargo fashion: with a hail of bullets and plenty of bloodshed — and then a nice home-cooked meal.
We open on the frozen North Dakota tundra, with a blinded Gator hobbling around and whimpering until he finds a hut and feels his way down a long underground tunnel. He emerges through an escape hatch located just off Roy’s property, where the feds and a Swat team are preparing, guns drawn, for a standoff with Roy and his goons. Roy gets mocked by his father-in-law for tolerating weak women and sons…...

At the end of Fargo the movie, justice is mostly done. The kidnapping orchestrated by Jerry Lundegaard, and carried out by Carl Showalter and Gaear Grimsrud, results in a lot of deaths and heartbreak. But Gaear kills Carl (and feeds his body into a wood chipper), Jerry gets arrested, and Marge Gunderson — as morally upright a person as you’ll find in a Coen brothers movie — catches Gaear. Juno Temple as Dorothy “Dot” Lyon in ‘Fargo’ season 5 (Photo Cr: Michelle Faye/FX)
FX’s Fargo season five episode eight, the season’s penultimate episode, is one of the series’ finest hours of storytelling. It opens with Ole Munch (Sam Spruell) punishing Gator (Joe Keery) for his innumerable acts of cruelty, topped off by the murder of Ole’s elderly mother.
Gator tries to bribe Ole into letting him go, but Ole doesn’t care one iota about promises of women, weapons, or cash. Tied to a chair, Gator can only whimper and beg as he realizes Ole’s about to take a red-hot knife to his eyes. An eye for an eye, correct? “This for that,” says Ole, adding, “What is taken must be given.”
Over at the Tillman Ranch, Dot (Juno Temple) is back in the game after a brief moment of despair at the end of episode seven.

Juno Temple as Dorothy “Dot” Lyon and Jon Hamm as Roy Tillman in ‘Fargo’ season 5 episode 8 (Photo Cr: Michelle Faye/FX)
FX’s Fargo season five episode eight begins with Danish Graves (Dave Foley) scanning his handwritten Debtors of North Dakota ledger and selecting three men – Marlin Everett, John Sasquatch, and Blew Noyes – all white and about 6’ tall. Graves takes the three men to the North Dakota Court Services and officially has their names changed. To what isn’t disclosed yet, but all three now have the same legal name.
You wouldn’t expect Dot (Juno Temple) to go quietly as Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) tries to check her out of the hospital, and she doesn’t disappoint. Instead of signing her name, she writes “Help Me” on the release form. She’s unsuccessful in stealing the pen but succeeds in snagging a paper clip without Roy noticing.

There’s something to be said about the kind of methodic lunacy Noah Hawley stuffs his show with. It’s not the usual, very obvious kind, of course, considering that’d so not sit well in the belly of the treacherous monster that is Fargo—wearing the skin of chaotic normalcy only to reveal its deranged realities later. Fargo is allergic to normalcy. So why should you expect this season’s tigress to not have to maul more than one skilled hunter?

How Does Dot Avoid Capture?
It would’ve been a bit too tacky if the Home Alone tactics worked against the weasels sent by the big Roy. Dot doesn’t need all that jazz to be who she is. Not that the makeshift weaponry doesn’t come in handy from time to time. But you have to admit that it’s Dot’s quick-as-a-cat reflexes that win her freedom.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Fargo Year 5, Episode 6, “The Tender Trap.”] In the latest episode of Fargo, “The Tender Trap,” the Debt Queen of the Midwest, Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh), threw her power around but was also rightly humbled by passionate Scandia cop Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani) regarding her daughter-in-law Dot (Juno Temple) who has been on the lam since the previous installment. Getting into a political dispute with self-righteous North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm), Lorraine is driven by her desire to win until Indira delivers her granddaughter Scotty (Sienna King) back home, along with a revealing file filled with photos depicting the abuse Dot was subjected to during her marriage to Roy. Asking Lorraine if she’s ever known Dot to claim herself as a victim, Indira pleads with the powerful woman to start caring. Seeing something special in Indira, Lorraine offers the young woman a job, throwing her a metaphorical...

Roy cuts to the chase and orders Vivian to stop all negotiations to sell his bank to Lorraine Lyon.

It’s not usual for a creative team to accrete members over time. Ok, sure, you can think of bands that got bigger as they got successful enough to add, for instance, a horn section, but those accretions tend to be semi-separate: The Fantastic Desperadoes with the Horns of Doom! People get replaced, of course. But it’s not common for new people to come in, set up, and just be added.
So I’m wondering what will be next for the team behind Pixels of You , a 2021 graphic novel from Amulet, Abrams’ teen-comics imprint. Co-writers Ananth Hirsh and Yuko Oda did the book Lucky Penny together before this – there, Hirsh was billed as the writer and Oda as the artist, but we all know artists in comics do at least half the storytelling (which means “writing”) anyway.

This isn’t the first time Noah Hawley’s show has trespassed into a realm that isn’t too keen on keeping a healthy, amicable relationship with beings of flesh and blood. But this may just be the first time that Fargo is truly terrifying. We’re done with the chucklesome flying saucers and antagonists who seem practically otherworldly. Frankly, none of that had the air of menace that surrounds the main villain of this season—Ole Munch—holding us hostage in the limbo where we’re unsure as to what it is we’re dealing with here. The bloodcurdling fear that Hawley associates with the otherwise much-played-out theme of debt is what keeps the air heavy in the third episode of Fargo season 5. God might’ve checked out already. Who saves Dot and the people after her?

Jon Hamm as Roy Tillman in ‘Fargo’ season 5 episode 2 (Photo Cr: Michelle Faye/FX)
FX’s Fargo season five episode two opens with the introduction of a new key player. Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) admires himself on a billboard as his voice-over drops a few pertinent facts. The Tillmans have a history in law enforcement. Roy believes Jesus was a bearded man and that women should be seen, not heard, kept pregnant and in the kitchen.
Plus, they should come to their wedding bed virgins.
It turns out he’s dropping these pearls of wisdom on a young couple. The husband is an abuser, but the wife tries to play it off that she’s just clumsy. Hubby learns a lesson the hard way when Roy has his deputy place him in a chokehold. Oh wait, the lesson didn’t sink in, and Roy tosses a cup of scalding...

This article contains spoilers for Fargo season 5 episodes 1 and 2.
Fargo season 5 opens in as immediate fashion as possible. As the curtains rise on episode 1 “The Tragedy of the Commons,” punches are already being thrown. It’s a chaotic, yet familiar scene in the U.S. in which a community meeting at a high school auditorium has devolved into desultory violence.
Our protagonist Dorothy “Dot” Lyon (Ted Lasso‘s Juno Temple) shields her daughter from the melee as adults act a fool at the Fall Festival Planning Committee. Dot is drawn into the fray when her daughter’s math teacher comes barreling down the aisle screaming “No one’s listening to me!” Dot tases him in self defense and is booked at the local police station, kickstarting the real events of the season.

Fargo’s Dot Lyon just wants to make pancakes for her daughter, but instead, she gets caught up in a whirlwind of guns-blazing action in Tuesday’s Season 5 premiere — and she more than holds her own.
When we meet Dot (played by Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple), she’s shielding her daughter Scotty from a school board meeting that turned into an all-out brawl. On her way out, she’s grabbed from behind and turns around to hit the guy with a stun gun — and it turns out he’s a cop. Dot is put in handcuffs and hauled away in a police cruiser,...

The typical season of “Fargo” starts at a simmer. Thanks to the famous opening disclaimer (“at the request of the survivors”; “out of respect for the dead”), borrowed wholesale from the Coen Brothers’ original masterpiece, the audience knows violence is in the offing. In translating “Fargo” into an anthology series, an interpretive exercise that now spans five different installments over nearly a decade, creator Noah Hawley has stuck to this structure. “Fargo” may hopscotch across time, points of view, and the Greater Midwest, but Hawley uses a loose and shifting set of signatures to identify the multiplying parts of the franchise as part of a greater whole — the pace heretofore among them.
The latest “Fargo” story, however, starts in media res. We’re in suburban Minnesota circa 2019, and a local school board meeting has descended into chaos. This isn’t a record-scratch-freeze-frame situation, either; in the six episodes provided to critics in advance,...

Fargo‘s fifth installment is just days away from arriving, and as with many of the entries before it, the new chapter of Noah Hawley‘s FX anthology shines a light on law enforcement through the lens of some very different characters. On one side of the spectrum, you have Jon Hamm‘s constitutional North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman and his sheriff’s deputy son, Gator (Joe Keery), and on the other side are Minnesota police deputy Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani) and North Dakota deputy Witt Farr (Lamorne Morris). While Roy and his men believe they are the law and therefore above it, Indira and Witt stand to prove that not all who wear a badge are going to abuse it… at least not with bad intentions. Described by series creator Hawley as the season’s White Knights, there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Witt and Indira.

While the first season finale of Amazon Studio’s Gen V might have a divisive impact on the fans—on the one hand, some consider it to be bonkers, a gratifying end in sync with the universe’s subversive take on caped crusaders, while others consider it predictable, edgy fan service—there’s no denying the fact that it serves the primary purpose of world-building pretty well. There being a two-year gap between the third and upcoming fourth seasons of The Boys, the showrunners needed a filler series to expand the universe, and Gen V successfully did that by venturing deep into the rabbit hole of supe and anti-supe conspiracies.
Throughout the first season, Gen V left a trail of proverbial breadcrumbs of clues to explore the connection with The Boys, which ranged from cameos to clever plot twists. Some of these additions, like Soldier Boy’s cameo or the...

Gen V's freshman season has been full of ups and downs, and sometimes, the story can be frustrating to follow along, let alone get invested in.
Some of the decisions that have been made regarding the characters and plot points have been genuinely disappointing and might amount to crimes against the show.
But one thing the show has not been is boring. It has been a nice ride with the numerous shocking scenes, wild action, and enticing ships. Gen V Season 1 Episode 8 completed this part of the ride by delivering a fantastic season finale.
With this show, one can never know what to expect. It can be a good thing, or it can sink the ship.
I stopped trying to figure out where the story was headed a long time ago, and maybe for the better, because Gen V Season 1 Episode 7 took a turn and had the narrative going in another direction.

No good deed ever goes unpunished; that’s what the major takeaway was from the first season finale of Amazon Studios’ Gen V. As the second offshoot venture of The Boys universe, Gen V delved into the filthy corruption involving supes, this time at the grassroot level, as Vought-sponsored superhero institute Godolkin University turned out to be the root of all evil. What began as the student group’s investigation into the death of the institute’s ace student, Golden Boy, gradually turned into the unraveling of multiple conspiracies. The existence of a supe asylum/prison known as the Woods inside the university premises was revealed, as was the even more disturbing fact that it was intended to study and experiment on supes to serve the God U Dean Indira Shetty’s motive of creating a universal deterrent against the supes.

As the saying goes, you reap what you sow. The truest estimation of the statement is assessed as the first season finale of the The Boys universe spin-off series, Gen V, comes to a bloody, disgusting end. The entire season built upon Vought’s premier superhero institute, Godolkin University’s conspiracies, which culminated in an all-out conflict in the final episode titled Guardians of Godolkin. While the treatment might please some of the fans, it mostly seemed like a cop-out, a predictable and edgy end to the series, which otherwise showed much promise in its penultimate episode.
In the previous episode, Indira’s nefarious plan to exterminate the supes from the face of the planet using a synthetic virus was exposed by Marie and her friends. Polarity collapsed during an interview, which prompted Andre to separate from the team and rush his father to the hospital. Cate confronted Indira for...

After going through a rather predictable narrative structure of Vought International cover-ups, Gen V finally enters the political intrigue between humans and supers in the seventh episode titled Sick, and the excitement of series fans is surely going to be sky high. No sooner had the cerebral trip inside Cate’s mind ended in the previous episode, than the viewers were introduced to the Supes crisis from a new perspective, one that can easily reshape The Boys universe itself.
As a spin-off series, Gen V is closely interconnected with The Boys, a connection which was explored over the course of six episodes. But the most significant link between the two series has been established with the penultimate episode, with Indira Shetty’s backstory and Congresswoman Victoria Neuman’s possible role, which not only puts Vought in a critical juncture but also has the potential to destabilize the political system of The Boys universe.

The world of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" returned last week — but it looks a lot different than the last time fans saw it. Or, rather, it sounds different: the show's revival comes not in the form of another TV season, but an Audible exclusive audio series called "Slayers." It's a clever way to get the monster-fighting band back together, all while side-stepping issues that might arise with revisiting this world — like supposedly immortal monsters aging with their actors.
"Slayers" also gives fan favorite "Buffy" castmates a chance to reinvent their characters, as it features a wild, universe-hopping plot that sees dead characters revived, scripts from Tara actress Amber Benson and novelist Christopher Golden (original series creator Joss Whedon is not involved with the project), and, most thrilling of all: Cordelia Chase, vampire slayer. Yep, Charisma Carpenter is returning to the Buffyverse after two decades away, and she's taking on an...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" might have left TV screens 20 years ago, but the exploits of the slayer and her compatriots didn't end in 2003. Take for instance how many of the events from the much-derided "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie were re-written back into Buffy lore, so to speak, in a 1999 comic book series by Dan Brereton and Christopher Golden entitled "The Origin." Co-signed by "Buffy" creator and showrunner Joss Whedon, "The Origin" basically retold the 1992 film in a way that fit Whedon's original vision and the show's tone. And that's just one of many Buffy tales that have been told outside of the show proper.
Now, Golden has teamed up with actress Amber Benson, who played Tara in "Buffy," for the new Audible original, "Slayers: A Buffyverse Story." This audio series further expands the Buffyverse by telling a story set 10 years after the events of the original series finale. "Slayers...

Since the series premiere, something felt off about Gen V, and it was the fact that there were some things that the writers were trying to hide actively.
It didn't make for a powerful story, and getting invested in it was not the easiest thing, but luckily for them, the characters were likable.
Gen V Season 1 Episode 5 was a turning point for the show where the major secret was revealed, and everything fell into place, suddenly making the story the focal point instead of the characters.
Luke's suicide didn't make much sense. The Woods was the stuff for legends that we got little sneak peeks into but weren't entirely invested in.
It continued being a complex affair when Marie would blackout and wake up in a new environment without knowing how she got there. It was interesting, but it got old quickly because there are only so many penises you can explode for shock value.

Contrary to conventional superheroism, The Boys universe promotes an adverse relationship between powers and responsibility, resulting in the so-called superheroes of the world turning out to be its worst offenders more often than not. As a result, the chief superhero management company, Vought International, remains busy covering up the scandals, bloody track records, and other nefarious deeds of the enlisted supes while contriving conspiracies of their own. The Boys highlighted some of the finest machinations orchestrated by the conglomerate, like threatening media and political personnel, experimenting on children, and creating super terrorists; likewise, Gen V gives viewers a peek into Vought’s vile schemes linked with the educational and administrative spheres.

Amber Benson wanted nothing more than to see Cordelia Chase become a vampire slayer, so when the opportunity presented itself, the Buffy actress-turned-writer didn’t hesitate to make her dream come true.
Slayers: A Buffyverse Story — an Audible Original that releases all nine episodes Thursday, Oct. 12 — follows Spike (voiced by James Marsters) as he goes deep undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. There, he meets 16-year-old newly appointed slayer Indira (The Equalizer’s Laya DeLeon Hayes) and a parallel universe’s Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), who is the one-and-only slayer back home.

The cast of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is ready to reclaim the narrative. Through the new Audible original, “Slayers: A Buffyverse Story,” several actors from the acclaimed drama series are back together to play their beloved characters once again — this time in an audio original podcast.
“Slayers” is co-written by Amber Benson, who portrayed Tara in “Buffy,” and Christopher Golden, who has penned multiple books in the “Buffyverse.” Before the Covid pandemic, Benson began calling her former costars to see who might want to be involved, focusing on the characters she felt weren’t serviced enough in the original show. She also wanted to find a way to highlight what it means to be a slayer who is also a woman of color.

Since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" staked its last monster 20 years ago, the franchise hasn't exactly rested peacefully. Continuation comics, novels, and planned reboots have kept the Buffyverse alive, but its legacy has also been complicated by allegations of workplace misconduct and bullying made against series creator Joss Whedon.
The latest installment of the world of Buffy, the Audible series "Slayers: A Buffyverse Story," aims to course-correct that, reuniting key cast members for the first time ever to tell a story Whedon plays no part in. To say the writer is nowhere to be found here would be inaccurate, though, as "Slayers" -- an intermittently charming, sometimes forced new chapter -- is all about overcoming the toxic influence of the past.
The story takes place roughly 12 years after Buffy Summers instilled all potential slayers with their full power, breaking a cycle of pain and isolation that afflicted centuries worth of chosen teen girls.

Twenty years after audiences watched Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) slay her last demon, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is set to return with a multiverse-style sequel. The new story won't be a TV show, but an audio series called "Slayers: A Buffyverse Story" -- a format switch that, while perhaps less common than a straightforward revival series, has been done successfully before by at least one other big fandom genre show, "Orphan Black."
There are a lot of reasons worth getting excited about "Slayers." Eight original series cast members are returning for the new project, including Emma Caulfield Ford (Anya), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Anthony Head (Giles), James Marsters (Spike), and more. Amber Benson is also returning despite her character Tara's controversial death in season 6 of the original show -- apparently the new series will play with alternate realities, allowing her character's reappearance. Netflix has hit the jackpot with Kohrra, the brand-new crime investigation drama set in rural Punjab. The arresting nature of the narrative, brought to life by some great performances, makes the show a must-watch. Some of the best writing, direction, and cinematography of this year can be seen in the six episodic series by Diggi Sisodia, Gunjit Chopra, and Sudip Sharma. The climax of Kohrra happens to be an emotional roller coaster that leaves the audience with a lump in their throat and a heavy heart.
