Jackson broke into show business in 1923 doing the shimmy for a bag of
groceries at a downtown Los Angeles theater.
He was just six when he was signed up by legendary producer/director Hal Roach, who took one look at his childish Afro hairdo and
dubbed him "Pineapple".
