XLrator Media released the official U.S. trailer for Housebound over the weekend. The film is getting a release date of October 17th - that's when you'll find it in select theaters, on VOD and on iTunes. This was one of my favorite films out of SXSW this year and if you're heading to the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, you can catch it there. Read my review here. Directed by George Johnstone, the film focuses on Kylie Bucknell, a young woman who is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention.

I re-watched this last week via Netflix, and just discovered that the entire film is on YouTube, thus I’m sharing.
It’s a 1932 film called The Most Dangerous Game, and stars Leslie Banks as a big game hunter with a taste for the world’s most exotic prey – human beings; specifically, his house-guests, played by Fay Wray and Joel McCrea. However, I’m sharing it specifically for you to check out Noble Johnson as Ivan, the mute brute, loyal to his master, the big game hunter.
He’s the sole African American actor in a sea of mostly white men; however, he doesn’t play a black man. He plays a Russian, and he’s essentially in “white face,” we could say, and covered in hair. Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter because, as I said, he’s mute. His job is to look and be mean, taking orders from the boss,...
