Firdaus Kharas (Fir-dose Kha-RASS), OC, FRSA, LLD (hc), DHum (hc) is a renowned social entrepreneur and media producer. He is a pioneer and global leader in producing animated shorts for social and behavior change. He founded Chocolate Moose Media in 1995 in Canada to produce for-profit and not-for-profit content in animation, documentaries and videos. He has received over 125 awards for his work, ranging from the Order of Canada to the Peabody Award to honorary doctorates. Best known for his animated behavior-change series, he has produced over 4,600 shorts on 80 topics in 500 language versions aimed at saving or improving lives. Most of his work is created under a Creative Commons license and available for free use.
