Yesterday evening, the news broke that Black Bird and Cruella star Paul Walter Hauser has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four.
It's another exciting and impressive addition to the reboot, though there was no word in the trades about who he's playing. The voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. is one possibility, though Mole Man is another suggestion which is being batted about online.
Hauser would be a great choice for a sinister new take on the baddie. Plus, with a story which takes place in the 1960s, using Mole Man as a supporting villain is a, well, fantastic way to pay homage to the team's first comic book appearance.
While he stops short of confirming Hauser has been cast in the role, Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider) is reporting that the current script for The Fantastic Four opens with Marvel's First Family defeating Mole Man.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Spider-Man 3 swung into theaters again yesterday, but it was way back in 2007 that we first saw Peter Parker encounter the alien costume.
The web-slinger soon embraced his darker side, though it was a relatively rushed subplot and one we've since learned was shoehorned into the threequel by producer Avi Arad (who expected to sell a lot of Venom toys).
In the movie, Tobey Maguire's web-slinger was decked out in a black version of his regular red and blue suit. Venom was a little more comic-accurate, though quite a bit smaller than the version on the page. In fact, the design continues to divide the opinions of fans.
However, something tells us what you'll see in the X post below would have really left fans fuming.

George R.R. Martin was not fond of the toxic fanbase of his work, Game of Thrones, which became a TV sensation. Martin revealed that they would send all kinds of threatening messages, especially after the poor reception of the eighth season. It made Martin remember the good old days when he was a superfan of Marvel. He revealed that he didn’t resort to hatemail when he didn’t like The Incredible Hulk show that ran on TV or the Captain America home movies.

Martin further shared that he was a big fan of Stan Lee who revolutionized the comic book industry. It was the comic book stalwart who prompted Martin to write stories that introduced grey characters and unexpectedly killed them off.

Who would have guessed the author of A Song of Ice and Fire novels George R.R. Martin, to be a Marvel fan? Usually, writers of his stature often claim to be neck deep into von-Goethe, Hemingway, and the obvious Shakespearean dramas. But Martin broke stereotypes after claiming to be an avid comic book fan, particularly inclined towards Marvel, more than DC.

Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.

Sam Raimi found great success with the ‘Spider-Man’ film trilogy, each installment grossing over $800 million worldwide. However, plans for further sequels were halted due to script issues. Disappointed with ‘Spider-Man 3,’ Raimi aimed to redeem the franchise with ‘Spider-Man 4,’ which unfortunately never came to fruition. In 2022, he expressed regret about not ending the series on a high note.
Despite this, Raimi’s involvement with Spider-Man continued as he and Marc Webb served as creative consultants for Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ directed by Jon Watts. Recently, rumors have circulated about Raimi directing ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ the highly anticipated installment in the ‘Avengers’ franchise.
Recently, Raimi stated his desire to direct the final Phase 6 movie, but unfortunately, the studio hasn’t approached him yet.

Although all three of the MCU Spider-Man movies have “home” in the title, Spidey didn’t feel like he really came home until the very end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. That’s when Peter Parker walked into a squalid New York City apartment, knit together a home-made suit, and remembered his late parent-figure’s words about power and responsibility. So why the heck is Marvel unsure about what to do next?

For decades, Hollywood has struggled with the concept of the reboot.
Not merely the "remake," which was a fairly common occurrence ever since Hollywood figured out how to upgrade the technology of The Wizard of Oz (1910) and re-film The Wizard of Oz (1939) -- now with sound and color! -- but specifically, the reboot.
As in upgrading not the technology but the culture of the original piece.
When The Brady Bunch Movie reboot came out in 1995, it was an audacious spectacle. It was reimagined as a tongue-in-cheek parody of 1960s/1970s culture and of the naivete of the original series.
By the early 2000s, reboots were no longer quirky experiments of avant-garde filmmakers but big money makers and even award-winning art films.
By the time Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, and Hasbro joined the reboot revolution, audiences had been lulled into a sense of tepid acceptance of all things rebooted. The visual effects were out of control.
Not merely the "remake," which was a fairly common occurrence ever since Hollywood figured out how to upgrade the technology of The Wizard of Oz (1910) and re-film The Wizard of Oz (1939) -- now with sound and color! -- but specifically, the reboot.

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
The fifth episode of X-Men ’97 presents a major change in the status quo for mutankind, climaxing with an attack on the nation of Genosha and the deaths of several major characters. But the most consequential event may be what happens just before the attack begins.
The first half of “Remember It” plays like a reprieve for the X-Men, as they visit a radically different Genosha from the one they previously saw on X-Men: The Animated Series. Once an apartheid nation built on mutant oppression, Genosha has become a haven for mutants, allowing them to celebrate their culture. The climax of the celebration occurs in the Hellfire Gala, a ball designed to inaugurate Magneto and Rogue as the new leaders.
The party ends on a horrible note when the Master Mold arrives to wreak havoc. But just before his arrival, obscured by the fireworks in the sky,...

The tales and myths of blood-sucking vampires have existed since time immemorial. They have made their way into pop culture, including comics that have their own versions of these legendary monsters. Marvel’s Morbius, the Living Vampire, was its own iteration that combined science and mythic arts, and debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October 1971. Since then, the character has made regular appearances in comics, shows, and even a standalone film.
Morbius in Spider-Man: The Animated Series
Similar to his on-page debut, Michael Morbius first appeared in the fan-favorite Fox Kids show Spider-Man: The Animated Series. The success of the animated show gave the showrunner John Semper the space to experiment and introduce obscure characters such as Morbius, and it worked out in favor of Marvel fans.

Stan Lee’s favorite DC character could find a place in James Gunn’s Dcu if one director were to helm the film. In the earlier Dceu, reports suggested that Michael Bay was attached to direct a movie featuring the character Lobo. The Transformers director has a knack for creating movies that gamble with absurd characters and produce amazing results. He might be the right fit to handle this character of an intergalactic bounty hunter.
The character of Lobo could still get a solo project in James Gunn’s Dcu
Interestingly, Jason Momoa pitched a solo Lobo film to Gunn during the promotion for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Momoa became a fan of the minor Superman villain of the ’80s who became popular in the ’90s as a parody of grim and gritty characters who defined comics in that decade.

Nearly six years ago, Black Panther was a game-changer for Marvel and superheroes in general. The feature presented an all-black cast within the genre and managed to climb past the billion-dollar mark. However, the reason for Black Panther’s success isn’t simply because of the race of its cast. That’s due to the film having a compelling set of characters at the forefront. Black Panther is one of the older characters in the comics that was first created back when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby first introduced him in Fantastic Four #52. Though he wasn’t particularly in the high ranks of Captain

Ever since 2008’s Iron Man release, MCU, with its box-office collection, became the most popular superhero franchise. But for them, 2023 was a disastrous year.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
The first was in February with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The $200 million-priced film earned only $464 million in the worldwide market. The Marvels, starring Brie Larson, also went through the same phase as it roughly touched the $200 million mark globally and became the lowest-grossing installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The only good news for the studio was the May release of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, starring Chris Pratt, which grossed $845 million at the global market.

Some years ago, Josh Gad received an out of the blue email from Frank Miller, someone whom he had never met.
The legendary comic creator behind The Dark Knight Returns and Sin City asked Gad, the stage and screen actor who is also the voice of Olaf in Disney’s Frozen movies, if he would be interested in writing a comic book. Miller believed Gad would be good at it.
“I was petrified,” Gad tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I didn’t think I was capable of it. Conceptually, I didn’t have a way into it and make personal and create something worthy of people’s time.” He politely replied to Miller and declined his invitation.
In the intervening years, however, Gad found his voice, so to speak. Though Miller is not involved, the actor now has co-written a comic that will be published by indie powerhouse Dark Horse Comics starting June.

“Somewhere, deep within the deep vastness of outer space, an incredible figure hurtles thru the cosmos, a being whom we shall call the Silver Surfer, for want of a better name!” That typically verbose bit of narration by Stan Lee comes from Fantastic Four #48, in which it accompanied the powerful imagery of Jack Kirby in his prime.
Since that moment, the Silver Surfer has become a major part of the Marvel Universe, appearing not only in countless comics but also in many film and television adaptations. Actress Julia Garner (“Ozark”) has been cast as the alien ‘Silver Surfer’ in Marvel Studios’ next big live-action feature “The Fantastic Four”:
The character was originally created as a man by illustrator/plotter Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, debuting in Marvel Comics’ “The Fantastic Four’ #48 (1966).
The ‘Silver Surfer’ is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space with the aid of a surfboard-like craft. As a young astronomer named ‘Norrin Radd’ on the planet ‘Zenn-La’, Radd saved the homeworld from the planet devourer, ‘Galactus’, by serving as a ‘herald’.
Imbued with some portion of ‘Galactus' Power Cosmic’, Radd acquired a new body and a surfboard-like craft to travel faster than light.
Now known as the ‘Silver Surfer’, Radd roamed the cosmos searching for planets for Galactus to consume.
When travels took Radd to Earth, the ‘Fantastic Four’ helped Radd rediscover a nobility of spirit.

Fantastic Four has found its Silver Surfer. Julia Garner will play a version the classic character, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman is directing the feature, which stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. The film has a release date of July 25, 2025, and is rumored to take place in the 1960s, the era in which writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby first introduced the Fantastic Four, the super team that launched the Marvel Universe in comics. Eric Pearson, known for Black Widow and Thor: Ragnarok, is the current writer on the film.
The Silver Surfer was introduced in in Fantastic Four No. 48 as the herald of Galactus, a planet-eating entity, though that version of the Surfer was an alien astronomer known as Norrin Radd.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series was one of the best animated shows around in the 1990s. In a sea of animated series such as Batman: The Animated Series, and X-Men, the John Semper Jr. show stood out.
Since Spider-Man was such an iconic comic character, the show became an instant classic. Semper himself tried to stay as true to the source material as much as possible. Unfortunately, the show was abruptly canceled, and the head writer finally revealed the reason behind it.

The first Avengers film was inarguably a true masterpiece. With its star-studded cast and even more brilliant storyline, casting, and actors’ performances, the Joss Whedon-helmed film was perfection at its peak. But before it was finalized to hold all the elements that it did, the film almost took a different turn; one that could have brought about Zooey Deschanel’s Marvel debut.
2012’s The Avengers.
As surprising as it may seem, filmmaker Whedon almost had Deschanel debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the same role that later went on to Michelle Pfeiffer. And had Scarlett Johansson’s scheduling conflicts for the same persisted, fans just might have seen a different plot in the saga — one that included Deschanel as a young Janet Van Dyne!

Sam Raimi, the legendary brains behind the original Spider-Man film series from the 2000s, is hoping yet again to return to work with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes after a statement from the mastermind himself addressing the rumors of him being the top choice to helm the upcoming highly anticipated MCU movie, Avengers: Secret Wars.

There are too many Marvel Comics out there to read them all — and I'm talking about both the current ongoing series, and the 85 years of accumulated material. The publisher is aware of this, so what's its solution to hook new readers?
In 2000, Marvel launched "Ultimate Marvel," a new series of comics set in a separate continuity from the original "Earth-616" comics. The Ultimate Marvel comics followed the classic heroes, from Spider-Man to the Avengers (renamed the Ultimates), getting their powers in a more contemporary-styled setting. These were comics written not to appeal to long-time, continuity-obsessed fans, but to hook the new generation of nerds obsessing over "Buffy" and "The X-Files." That reverberated back and Ultimate Marvel became the primary influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After highs and lows, Ultimate Marvel ended in 2015. In 2024, it returned ... sort of. Rather than a continuation of the old Ultimate Universe, Marvel has just...

Anthony Mackie is one of the longest tenured performers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having joined the sprawling superhero franchise as Sam Wilson in 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and continuing to play Chris Evans’ loyal sidekick through “Avengers: Endgame.” He remained a Marvel fixture as the series tried to reinvent itself after the climactic 2019 film, shoehorning himself into picking up the Captain America mantle by starring in the Disney+ series “Falcon and Winter Soldier” and the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World.” But the actor’s loyalty to the brand hasn’t stopped him from acknowledging the creative limitations that come with working in the MCU.
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Mackie explained that the vast amounts of comic book source material ensures that certain Marvel storylines are effectively predetermined.
“I would say the Marvel thing is completely different, just because it’s such a space of controlled entertainment.

The beloved soap opera, introduced in 1977, has captured the hearts of fans worldwide. With a stellar ensemble cast featuring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and James Earl Jones, the franchise has consistently delighted audiences with its rich content. Surprisingly, despite its global success, the two cast members didn’t cross paths until their joint appearance on the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
A still from Star Wars
While Princess Leia and Darth Vader share a few moments in the original film, it’s noteworthy that the late actor David Prowse portrayed Vader on-screen, with Jones providing his iconic voice during post-production. The two actors would finally meet during the filming of an unforgettable episode of The Big Bang Theory.

The WWE is riddled with so much going on with different superstars all with their different storylines intertwining or unraveling from one moment to the next, the championship holders like Rhea Ripley have to be ready for any match that comes her way, especially for her title.
But on the bright side, along with the support of The Judgment Day by her side in the company, she also has her fiancée Buddy Matthews to push her to be the best in her personal life.
Rhea Ripley
And while the WWE fandom knows about this, they still cannot help but inquire about how Matthews felt with the Ripley X Dominik storyline that did wonders for their careers. When posed this question, the Women’s World Champion revealed that she too was surprised that her fiancée wasn’t bothered by it all that much, which actually made her jealous instead.

Anthony Mackie isn’t complaining about his Marvel career, which has seen him take on the roles of The Falcon and Captain America.
But because the characters are so established, “There’s only so much you can do,” he said.
In an interview with RadioTimes, Mackie was asked about working on Marvel projects vs. Peacock’s Twisted Metal, the latter where he plays John Doe.
Within the MCU, “There’s only so much creativity you can bring to the table because Stan Lee gave us so much content,” Mackie said. “Whereas with [Twisted Metal], it was like, ‘There’s a guy and a girl go.’ So we were really able to build the world around it.”
Mackie’s said Twisted Metal had nothing tied to his character, so it allowed him to try more things. But everyone still managed to “stay true to the characters in the video games.”
