Director Louis Leterrier moves into the horror genre with the upcoming film 11817, Deadline reports today.
Rocket Science is presenting the project to buyers in Cannes.
“The film watches as inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their house indefinitely. As both modern luxuries and life or death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and outsmart who — or what — is keeping them trapped.”
Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) wrote the screenplay.
“Directing projects where the audience gets behind the characters has always been my focus. However complex, flawed, heroic, we identify with them as we live through their journey,” said Leterrier. “It’s what excites me about 11817‘s wholly original concept and the family at the heart of our story. This is an experience that movie audiences won’t forget.”

Series regular Tyrese Gibson says Fast & Furious 11 won’t start filming until early next year, calling its original April 2025 release date into question.
Following the shuddering, $340m ball of fire that was Fast X, it’s been said that the currently untitled sequel we’re calling Fast & Furious 11 will be the last in the franchise. Universal Pictures has previously had that sequel scheduled for release on the 4th April 2025 – a date that now has a huge question mark over it following comments by series regular Tyrese Gibson.
Talking to Cbr, Gibson indicated that Fast & Furious 11, listed on IMDb as Fast X: Part 2, won’t begin filming until January 2025 at the earliest – a knock-on effect, he said, of 2022’s strikes.
“Because of the strike, both strikes, there were some real delays in writing and kind of getting the film up on its feet,” Gibson said. “I’m hearing that we...

Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" was released in August of 2008, a year before Disney made their notorious $4 billion purchase of Marvel Entertainment. Once the Disney purchase was finalized, the company announced its plan to build out the then-new Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was novel at the time. Disney also retconned Paramount's "Iron Man," and Leterrier's movie (made for Universal) into the MCU, using a foundation that had already been built. The announcement of a whole string of interconnected superhero movies set the pop world on fire, and the ensuing decade would be crushed -- both positively and negatively -- by Marvel.

The feud between Rebel Wilson and her former co-star Sacha Baron Cohen has escalated, with both actors accusing the other of making false claims.
Wilson previously named the Borat star as the actor whom she accuses in her forthcoming memoir of behaving like “an a**hole” on a movie set. The pair appeared together in the 2016 movie The Brothers Grimsby.
An extract from the book reveals Wilson accusing Cohen of sexually harassing her, asking her to stick her finger up his behind for a scene, something she refused to do.
Friday saw a video published in the Daily Mail, showing the pair blocking out the scene, with Wilson apparently in agreement with Cohen’s request. The video, filmed on mobile phone at the closed set, also shows the pair kissing as part of the scene.

Rebel wrote that she was “scared” and refused the request. Instead she slapped him on the butt to get some content.
Sacha‘s team has denied the allegations against him.

Rebel Wilson has revealed that her Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen is the previously unnamed Hollywood “asshole” that is allegedly attempting to stop her writing about him in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising.
A spokesperson for Baron Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
Last week, in an Instagram post, Wilson revealed that she intended to dedicate a whole chapter in her book to “a massive asshole” she had previously worked with in Hollywood, although she didn’t reveal the person’s name, the project they worked on together or provide any further details.

Through a spokesman, Sacha Baron Cohen is disputing characterizations by actress Rebel Wilson that he behaved like a “massive a**hole” while shooting the Louis Leterrier-directed hard R-rated comedy The Brothers Grimsby. She played the wife of his character Nobby, a soccer hooligan who is enlisted by his secret agent brother (Mark Strong) to thwart a plan to set off two bombs during a football match. The film is full of outrageous comic scenes, and Wilson claimed Baron Cohen pressured her to appear nude and do other unsavory things.

Marvel’s The Hulk happens to be one of the most crucial and significant characters within the franchise and over the years, the character has played a major role in the narration of the story. The Strongest Avenger is always on the list for being the most powerful Avenger, as he has fought many compelling foes including his own Avenger team at one time or another.
Smart Hulk
The character has been smashing through the franchise and fans, but over the years the character has been portrayed by Mark Ruffalo but before him, Edward Norton played the role. However, the superhero franchise has made a mockery of the character. Naturally, the fans are divided as they debate over which actor played the role of Bruce Banner better, Norton or Ruffalo.

A representative for Cohen said in a statement to Deadline, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

Mythology offers some of the most enduring and rich stories when it comes to epic storytelling. And at the top of the pantheon of mythical figures sits Zeus, the king of the gods in Greek mythology. Throughout Hollywood history, many stars have tried their hands at playing this powerful deity, with varying degrees of success.
Having said that, it makes sense that we should honor the actors who gorgeously portrayed Zeus on screen. Since he is the undisputed leader of Mount Olympus, it is about time he had his own list. Those who have portrayed Zeus on screen have done so with a certain stoicism that is more in line with ancient Greek depictions.
Russell Crowe as Zeus in a still from Thor: Love and Thunder
Here are six actors who have truly nailed it as Zeus on the big screen.

Magician heist sequel Now You See Me 3 – in the works for years – is finally set to begin filming in the next six months according to star Jesse Eisenberg.
Proving that time itself is a dark illusion, it’s now over a decade since the original Now You See Me materialised in cinemas. Directed by Louis Leterrier, its magician-based twist on the knock-about heist format – a kind of Oceans 11 with wands – made it a decent hit, spawning a miniature franchise.
According to Jesse Eisenberg, who recently spoke to Collider, Now You See Me 3 – a sequel talked about as long ago as 2015 – is finally due to get underway this year.
Responding that he’s read the script, Eisenberg told the outlet that “Hopefully it will happen in the next six months,” and added that “it’s really great.”

With 10 entries in the core franchise (and one spin-off), Fast & Furious has worked hard to up the action throughout, often taking it to the extreme with its over-the-top sequences and stunts. Let’s see, there have been skyscraper jumps, bank vault heists (and chases), aircraft carriers pulled out of the sky, and even a trip to space! But with the upcoming Fast 11, the filmmakers are looking to ground the series a bit…and not with grappling hooks.
According to The InSneider (via ComingSoon), Fast 11 will take a “lean and mean” approach. One thing being trimmed is the budget, which is said to not exceed $200 million. That’s still one hell of a budget but considering Fast X’s was pegged at $340 million (10 times the amount as 2001’s original), that’s a lot of shredded cash. Another aspect that will change with Fast 11 is toning down the constant travel of the crew,...

Fast & Furious 11 is reportedly going back to basics with a measly budget of $200 million. More details here.
The 11th Fast & Furious film, which is currently slated for release in 2025, is reportedly Vin Diesel’s last as Dominic Toretto. Aside from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Diesel has appeared in every other Fast & Furious film, including a cameo in Tokyo Drift.
The news comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider (spotted by World Of Reel). Sneider’s report also mentions that the next film will be a considerably more scaled back effort, with a budget of only $200 million.
Of course, the words ‘only’ and ‘$200 million’ don’t usually go together, but considering the budget for Fast X was reportedly $340 million, it’s a pretty big cut. Then again, Fast X received middling to negative reviews and grossed $714 million worldwide, which wasn’t quite enough to make the film profitable. You can...

"Fast X" is one of the best over-the-top movies of the year (the first annual /Film Movie Awards even said so), but it just got even better. In an interview with Happy Sad Confused podcast's Josh Horowitz, director Louis Leterrier confessed that he snuck a familiar "Star Wars" sound effect into the action-packed driving movie. "In my last movie, in 'Fast X,' I put Tie fighter sounds in it," Leterrier told the host.
Though Leterrier doesn't say exactly where he snuck in the familiar sound of the Imperial fleet, Syfy Wire was able to trace the sound effect to the 1-hour 54-minute mark of the film, which features a climactic chase scene involving the film's unforgettably wild villain, Dante (Jason Momoa). 2023 was a surprisingly great year for several movie genres, but action fans in particular had a bounty of terrific options to choose from. When it came time for a few of the /Film writers and editors to get together and rank our favorites, our individual lists were overflowing with great titles. But in accordance with the unwritten laws/demands of the Internet, we were forced to make some tough decisions, whittle our choices down to a collective ten films, and rank them accordingly.
As is often the case, the movies that didn't make this list could easily comprise an impressive list of their own. When the inventive and propulsive "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," the energetic and comedic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem," the brutal and pulpy "Sisu," the touching and hilarious "Polite Society," and the moody and subversive "The Killer" get relegated to honorable mentions, it becomes clear how...

Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" and Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" (both 2008) in many important ways weren't yet part of the then-nascent Marvel Cinematic Universe when they were first made. Favreau put in a post-credits stinger with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury more as a wink to fans than as an announcement that larger film projects were afoot. Additionally, Downey's cameo in "Incredible" was treated equally casually, with the actors reportedly improvising their dialogue. It would only be until after Disney purchased the Marvel library in 2009 that plans for an MCU would be put into place in earnest. In many ways, then, it would be Favreau's "Iron Man 2" in 2010 that launched the MCU properly and put plans for an "Avengers" feature film into motion.

Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, but the film is said to follow “the evolution of the relationship between two career thieves [Daniel Craig & Charlize Theron] over the course of three big jobs.” Dan Mazeau, who worked with Justin Lin on Fast X, is writing the script for Two for the Money.

"The Incredible Hulk" was an early stumbling block for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Released in June 2008, a mere month after "Iron Man," lightning did not strike twice for Marvel Studios' burgeoning movie enterprise; "Incredible Hulk" got a shrug from critics and underperformed at the box office.
Even so, Marvel Studios steamrolled ahead. Star Edward Norton didn't return for any future MCU films and Bruce Banner was recast with Mark Ruffalo for "The Avengers." The behind-the-scenes book "MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios" by Dave Gonzales, Gavin Edwards, and Joanna Robinson features a chapter about "The Incredible Hulk" and its gamma radiation-flavored fallout. The book ultimately puts the production's unpleasant memories on the shoulders of Edward Norton, suggesting his actor-as-auteur approach solidified Marvel's top-down filmmaking tactics.
An unnamed "Marvel performer" tells the authors, "We have a no-a**hole policy on our movies," and the book traces this policy back to Norton's behavior.

Back in 2016, Lionsgate gave the green light to a third Now You See Me film — before the second one had even hit theaters. Now that the sequel is out (and seven years old), the production company is finally moving forward with Now You See Me 3.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake announced the news during an investors call this week. He also confirmed that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer was onboard to helm the project.
Drake described the forthcoming installment as a “reimagining” of the first two films, with production set to begin next spring.
The first Now You See Me, released in 2013, starred Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, and Morgan Freeman. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film centered on a group of justice seeking, bank robbing magicians being followed by the FBI. Jon M. Chu helmed the sequel, which arrived three years later.

David Harbour has suggested that Stranger Things is one of the many productions set to resume right away now that the actor’s strike is resolved.
“Harbour… enthusiastically conveyed his eagerness to return to Hawkins, Indiana. He emphasized a keen sense of urgency, suggesting that production might start up again in as little as a couple of days, when he was asked what was first on his post-strike schedule. After all, he also has the small matter of a massive Marvel blockbuster in the form of Thunderbolts on the horizon.”

Most of Marvel Studios’s films are the cinematic equivalent of breadcrumbs, which have been dropped into theaters strategically so as to keep one looking for the next sequel or crossover, when the endless televisual exposition will eventually, theoretically yield an event of actual consequence. Occasionally, however, a Marvel film transcends this impersonality and justifies one’s patience. Weird, stylish, and surprisingly lyrical, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, and Doctor Strange attest to the benefits of the old Hollywood-style studio system that Marvel has resurrected: Under the umbrella of structure and quota is security, which can bequeath qualified freedom. On the occasion of the release of Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels, here’s a ranking of every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date. Chuck Bowen
