Three key hires have come on board to run Warner Brothers Digital Network, a division that manages both distribution and content for the label in the digital space. Former Spotify acquisitions head Eric Besner was named senior vice president in business development. Native son Greg Salter will serve as senior vice president in business and strategic planning, moving over from the same department at WB corporate. Katie Soo, formerly of Fullscreen Media and Hulu, has been named senior vice president of marketing. All three will report to Warner Bros. Digital Networks Executive Vice President Jay Levine. Bell Media has confirmed "Fashion Television" (widely known as "Ft") -- a weekly half-hour show that profiles the greatest talents from the worlds of fashion, photography, architecture and design -- has been cancelled.
The show has been on air for over 27 years and has won multiple awards. The series is seen in Canada and around the world -- including Norway, Sweden, Finland and other European countries.
Hosted by Jeanne Beker, the show has become one of the most notable fashion television programs in the industry. And Beker, herself, has become one of Canada's most iconic and influential fashionistas.
In a statement released by Bell Media, officials say they look, "forward to an exciting future with [Beker], including the development of new projects. Bell Media remains committed to the fashion genre and will continue to grow FashionTelevisionChannel to deliver a broader appeal for viewers, advertisers, and distributors."
