Strike Back fans, Robson Green has revealed why the next series had to be the last.
Green - who plays Lt. Col. Philip Locke - told Digital Spy that the action thriller's next run gets "bigger and better" than before - and "couldn't really go anywhere else".
Michelle Yeoh, Max Beesley will appear in Strike Back's final series
"You can't write a story like this, and then continue the series," he hinted. "So yeah, we knew it was going to go out with a bang. The storylines were so gripping and thrilling.
"It just got better and better and it couldn't really go anywhere else. But you should always leave your audience wanting more, and I think the finale does that. It really is a very emotional ending."
However, Green did reveal that, early on, that had been talk of Strike Back continuing - perhaps on a new network.

Green said that he continues to enjoy filming action scenes, despite hitting the age milestone last year.
"The action scenes are fine - [with] any series you've got to look after yourself," he explained.

Strike Back is returning to Sky1 - and if you're looking for an action-packed, adrenalin-fuelled thrill ride, you could do a hell of a lot worse than Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton's high-octane drama series…
But, now in its fourth series, there's a few changes in store for Strike Back - not only is Robson Green joining the regular cast as Sas legend Philip Locke, but we're going to see a softer side to Scott (Stapleton) and Stonebridge (Winchester).
"You see more of a vulnerable side to Scott this series," Aussie star Stapleton confirms. "There's a definite change - it's almost like he's growing up…"
Both Stapleton - 'Sully' to his friends - and Winchester were keen that their characters be portrayed as "humans" and not "superheroes" in this latest run of Strike Back.
"They have to be vulnerable, they have to be broken, they have to have a...

Strike Back Season 3 Episode 4
We’ve got an exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Strike Back. If you thought Leatherby was vile before, you’re going to want to check out what he has in store for Kamali’s family this week.
Although Kamali tried to walk away from Section 20, Dalton’s orders have completely compromised his position. Now, he’s going to learn the true cost of betrayal – and it may cost him more than a bullet through the hand.
“Do you believe in God? Because if you do, you should pray…”
In this clip, we get to peer deeper into Leatherby’s dark side. He discusses the “cost of betrayal” with his hostage. Betrayal has been a prevalent theme throughout these past few episodes of Strike Back. Based on the parallel being drawn between Stonebridge and Leatherby, I have to wonder if we’re going to...

As James Bond prepares for his 23rd official outing in Skyfall and to mark the 50th Anniversary of one of the most successful movie franchises of all time I have been tasked to take a retrospective look at the films that turned author Ian Fleming’s creation into one of the most recognised and iconic characters in film history.
Ian Fleming died just one month before the release of the third James Bond film, Goldfinger in August 1964. Even though both Dr. No and From Russia With Love had been successful and well received it was not until Goldfinger that James Bond truly became a worldwide phenomenon and it is a tragedy that Fleming never lived to see the full impact his creation had on popular culture.
The story of the fourth James Bond film, Thunderball, is a complicated one that pre-dates the formation of Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman...
