Update: Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has signed a Las Vegas stadium funding bill into law, marking yet another step forward for the Oakland A’s to move to Las Vegas.
Lombardo approved $380 million in public money to build a $1.5 billion, retractable roof baseball stadium for the Athletics.
The 30,000-seat stadium will be built on land currently occupied by the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, one of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas. It will be demolished to make way for the ballpark.
“I’m excited to officially sign SB1 this afternoon,” Lombardo said. “This is an incredible opportunity to bring the A’s to Nevada, and this legislation reflects months of negotiations between the team, the state, the county and the league.”
Major League Baseball owners still have to approve the move from Oakland. The A’s lease in the Bay Area runs until the end of 2024. They will play their games...

Nine more women are accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault in a lawsuit that alleges he used his “enormous power, fame and prestige” to victimize them.
A lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Nevada alleges that the women were individually drugged and assaulted between approximately 1979 and 1992 in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe homes, dressing rooms and hotels.
One woman alleges that Cosby, claiming to be her acting mentor, lured her from New York to Nevada, where he drugged her in a hotel room with what he had claimed to be non-alcoholic sparkling cider and then raped her.
The 85-year-old former “Cosby Show” star has now been accused of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment by more than 60 women. He has denied all allegations involving sex crimes. He was the first celebrity tried and convicted in the #MeToo era — and spent nearly three years at a state prison near...

Bill Cosby faces a new sexual assault lawsuit, this one in the state of Nevada. A case in the name of nine women was filed in the U.S. District Court for Nevada, alleging that the disgraced actor and comedian exercised his “enormous power, fame and prestige” to isolate and sexually assault the individuals named in the case.
Per NBC News, a group of the women will speak in an interview on “NBC News Daily” on Thursday. Pam Joy Abeyta, Lili Bernard, Rebecca Cooper, Janice Dickinson, Linda Kirkpatrick, Janice Baker Kinney, Angela Leslie, Lise-Lotte Lublin and Heidi Thomas are named in the case.
Cosby was convicted of a criminal sexual assault charge in Pennsylvania in April 2018. However, in 2021, the actor was released from prison after spending nearly three years behind the bars; the conviction was overturned by the state Supreme Court. The actor, now 85 years old, has discussed plans for a comedy tour.

Having Jubal front and center in an episode is always a good decision.
That's even more true when 9/11 gets mixed in like the tragedy was on FBI Season 5 Episode 19.
Muslim terrorists have been a TV boogeyman staple in the 22 years since 9/11. At least this episode was pretty even-handed in its treatment of Muslims.
It was pretty clear that Jubal was going to be at the heart of the episode as soon as Isobel revealed that he would be receiving the Distinguished Service Award.
It was so in character for Jubal to downplay his getting the award as a measure of his longevity instead of the quality of his work.
It's not just his modesty. He also can replay every mistake he's ever made. He's a glass-half-empty kind of guy.
He didn't have time to savor his accomplishment (not that he would have) because the case of the murdered truck driver fell into the FBI's lap.

Donald Trump is on the campaign trail for several GOP candidates ahead of the midterm elections in a few weeks. But Seth Meyers can’t help but notice that most of the time, the twice impeached former president isn’t exactly campaigning for them.
“Even though Trump is theoretically supposed to be there to campaign for other candidates, he always, without exception, makes it about himself,” Meyers mocked on Monday night. “He’s like the best man at a wedding who gives a drunken toast about how awesome he is.”

But, using specific examples, the late night host called up footage from campaign stops Trump...
