Glennis Lorimer (birth name: Glennis Dorothy Browne) was born on April 27, 1913 in Wandsworth, England. Married twice (Thomas Henry Ennis 1939, John Cowles Evans 1948). She was an actress, known for Ask a Policeman (1939), Crown v. Stevens (1936) and Old Faithful (1935). She died of Esophagus cancer on November 17, 1968 in London, England.
Glennis was the woman featured in the Gainsborough Studios' opening logo.
Studied for two years at a dramatic school, two years of dancing and two years film extra work before she became one of the Gaumont-British "Baby Stars".

She impersonated Sarah Siddons of Thomas Gainsborough's portrait for the Gainsborough Pictures trademark. Her Step-father, Henry Ostrer, was a Director of the Company.
