Today it appears that the debt crisis has been sort of kind of averted though part of me wishes that we'd gotten a chance to see the legislation get a shark week crossover in the form of 'if y'all don't do your damn jobs instead of grand-standing to the media we're going to toss you in this tank with a bunch of sharks' kind of way. However since I'm not exactly qualified to discuss important political business (or sharks, really) that's the last you'll hear about that out of me. The bottom line is that we have another evening full of sharks and shark related programming on the Discovery channel that I hope all of you are able to enjoy. Because it's awesome. And watching a Great White take down a seal in mid-air is a thing of beauty. Here's your Tuesday night TV:

Not that I should have to tell most of you the big TV news tonight but just in case; tonight is the season two finale for "Justified" so all of you out there who love you some Raylan Givens (I consulted IMDb for the correct spelling of that name since I've seen like three different versions in the comments) are going to be very sad for a while. I missed the beginning so I've got season 1 in my Netflix queue now and only recently (like, today, when I consulted IMDb) became aware that Jacob Pitts of EuroTrip fame is on this series which makes it extra intriguing to me because I love that movie so much that "Scotty Doesn't Know" was my ringtone for almost a year. And will be again, once I get around to putting it on my new phone. Anyway, here's your Wednesday night TV:

Last night I used the lovely and talented Dana Scully as a header picture leading many of you to profess your own adoration for the woman I consider my first role model and the standard by which I judge all skeptically raised eyebrows. Good news! Well, sort of good news; for those of you who have Netflix instant all the seasons of "The X-Files" (including the fifth season featuring the episode that contributed yesterday's picture, "Bad Blood") are available on Instant Play. I'm sure most of you who have Netflix and are "X-Files" fans are already aware of this but I'm doing my best to spread a little joy. Here's your Wednesday night TV:

"America's Next Top Model" on The CW
"Minute to Win It" on NBC
"Survivor" on CBS
8:30pm: "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" on Food Network
9:00pm: "Are We There...

Some of you may have noticed that Pajiba After Dark is showing up earlier. Or not, whatever, Pajiba After Dark doesn't need your attention to feel good about itself because Pajiba After Dark is beautiful no matter what you say. If you haven't, I'm letting you know so you can have the opportunity to better plan your evening's television watching and/or Intern bashing for those of you who are into that sort of thing. Here's your Thursday night TV:
8:00pm: "American Idol" on Fox. Someone gave me a bit of shit last night for my comment that I never feel more disconnected from the average American as I do when this show is airing. To be clear, I didn't mean this as any kind of judgement on relative levels of intellect, but that I'm bewildered as to why people have been so consistently captivated by what is basically a glorified open mic night.
