Is former rapist Ej a better man than Eric Brady, who was once a sexual assault victim?
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 4-10-23 suggest that after ingesting tainted biscuits, an under-the-influence Nicole has sex with Eric.
Let's hope it's not exactly how it seems. As someone who was drugged and sexually assaulted, Eric should know better than to take advantage of Nicole this way.
When Stefan drugged Nicole, Ej held off on taking her to bed because he knew she was incapacitated. I applauded Days of Our Lives for Finally acknowledging the consent issues in these scenarios.
If Days of Our Lives backtracks by having Eric and Nicole sleep together while she is under the influence again, that'll be horrible on so many levels.

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
What’s fun about writing this series based on first time watches is that I only have a cursory awareness of the weird places the franchise goes. When Amityville is discussed in horror circles, you hear about “the one with the clock” or “the one with the dollhouse,” as well as insinuations that at some point the films go completely off the rail.
That means that pressing play on each successive entry is accompanied by an “is this it?” question: Is this one of the infamous entries? Is this where the franchise loses its way?
I’m happy to report that while The Evil Escapes isn’t a great film, it certainly isn’t a horrible entry in the series. If anything,...

Gabi prepares to get married again on Days. Pic credit: NBC
Days of our Lives spoilers tease that as the hit soap opera moves to Peacock, the show’s bringing its A-game to ensure fans stick with it.
On Friday, Days aired its final episode on NBC. The last show got off by two minutes just as Gabi (Camila Banus) was about to see an alive Stefan (Brandon Barash) due to King Charles’ speech.
The cliffhanger was intended to help persuade viewers to follow the daytime drama to Peacock.
Ahead of the show being cut off, Days of our Lives debuted a fall promo filled with jaw-dropping moments, including Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) finally giving into their feelings.
Unfortunately for them, Jada (Elia Cantu) spies the passionate kiss. Later Jada faints with Rafe (Galen Gering) there to catch her.

Eve covered up for Claire, Sami and Lucas rallied around Will, and the Brady family came together to remember Caroline this week on Days of Our Lives.
Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Tony and LumiForeverandAlways from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum, to discuss Caroline Brady’s wake, the love of Sami’s life, if Eve’s vendetta is justified, and more!
Did Days do justice to Caroline Brady’s legacy with her one episode wake?
Tony: What they did, they did well.
LumiForeverandAlways: Don't get me wrong, the wake was wonderful but I do wish they did something else as well. Maybe a plaque in the Brady Pub like they have in the square for Tom and Alice.
Jack: Yes and no. I thought it was well done and a loving tribute. But I also thought that it was way too small.

Emmys Schmemmys. Gold Derby’s forum posters have been naming their favorite daytime dramas and performances since 2003, and according to their 16th Annual Goldie Awards, “Days of Our Lives” was the best drama series of the year. But some of the best performances of 2018 aren’t in the running at the Daytime Emmys, whose nominations will be announced on March 20. Scroll down to see our posters’ complete list of winners.
“Days” has been our users’ choice for Best Drama Series more than any other soap. It has prevailed seven times. “The Young and the Restless” was our winner five times. The now defunct “One Life to Live” prevailed twice. “General Hospital” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” won once apiece. But while “Days” has a good chance of winning at the Emmys too — it’s the defending champion after all — some of the best performances from the show weren’t even pre-nominated.

For Sunday’s Oscars 2019 ceremony, producers had a difficult decision of which film industry people would make the cut and who would be left out of the “In Memoriam.” For the segment, Gustavo Dudamel and the L.A. Philharmonic performed music by Oscar winner John Williams.

While Academy Awards producers have strived for a much shorter ceremony this year, the annual “In Memoriam” segment will definitely remain. In fact this moment on Sunday’s 2019 event should be extra classy since Gustavo Dudamel and the L.A. Philharmonic will be performing as part of the tribute.
Over 100 Academy members or film industry veterans died in the past 12 months. But which ones will be featured in the short segment? There are generally outcries each year from family members upset about people being left out. Visit our own Gold Derby memoriam galleries for the year of 2018 and the newly-started gallery for 2019.
Virtually certain to be part of the montage are Oscar-winning directors Bernardo Bertolucci and Milos Forman, Oscar-nominated actors Carol Channing, Albert Finney and Burt Reynolds, director and actress Penny Marshall, executive producer and entertainment icon Stan Lee and many more.

NBC’s longest running series, the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” will continue on for a 55th season, the network said on Tuesday.
The show is currently in the middle of its 54th season and is coming off a 53rd season (Sept. 2017 – Sept. 2018) that saw a 4 percent lift in total viewers when it averaged 2.55 million viewers according to Nielsen’s live-plus-seven numbers. Earlier this year, it aired its 13,500th episode.
“With writing that manages to weave together Salem’s iconic characters with current realities, Ken Corday and his team have ushered the show’s legacy into a new era that resonates with both longtime and new viewers,” said Bruce Evans, executive vice president of current programming for NBC Entertainment. “The actors and crew have such a tremendous respect for ‘Days’ and what it means to fans. We believe that level of commitment shows through and touches our audience year after year.

Jack: I wasn't a big fan of this episode, so my favorite part was probably it ending so we could get back to normal.
But there were some funny lines and as an Svu fan I cracked up when Hattie called this Law & Order: Salem's Victim Unit because the idea of Olivia Benson [from Svu] attempting to deal with the lunacy in Salem was hilarious.

Days of Our Lives' Caroline Brady was a fixture in Salem for 35 years.
First debuting in 1983, Caroline was in some ways the antithesis of soft-spoken, genteel Alice Horton. She was a fiery redhead who wasn't afraid to speak her mind to her four children and was the head of a mainly blue-collar family that soon became best friends (and sometimes lovers!) with the founding family of Salem.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Soaps4ever from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to discuss Ej’s return, Hattie’s future and who is their favorite female character currently in Salem.
Brady appeared to confirm that it was Ej in the wheelchair. Are you happy to know he’s still alive and how do you hope this plays out?
Soaps4ever: That was an interesting scene. It's good to know Ej's alive but I'd like to know what happened to him and if he can recover. I'm undecided how it should play out.
Jack: I’m hoping this is someone else being groomed to believe they are Ej.

Days of Our Lives fans and the daytime world in general suffered a second serious loss, as veteran actress Peggy McCay, best known as fiesty Caroline Brady, died at age 90 on October 7, 2018, just weeks after the actor who played her on-screen husband passed away.
The actress passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.
McCay had played Caroline Brady, the role she was best known for, since February 7, 1983, when the Brady family was first introduced in Salem. Caroline was a loving, supportive mother who was also tough and strong and unafraid to stand up to the likes of Victor Kiriakis and Stefano Dimera.
In fact, Caroline had an affair with Victor that resulted in youngest son Bo. Bo learning about his true parentage as an adult was one of the biggest stories to hit Days in the late 1980s, and Caroline’s feelings for Victor never quite went away.
