- Voiced Victoria Bitter (VB) commercials until his death. After his death, his son took over the role briefly, before using computer enhanced voice of John Meillon to voice over the commercials. To this date (14 years after his death), he is still the voice of VB

- Suffered an unfortunate incident on location in Melbourne during the location shoot for Almost Down the Primrose Path (1968): a scene in which his character Wally Stiller, almost being hit by a car, ends up with his clothes all over the street, had to be abandoned when the actor was genuinely hit by the vehicle and momentarily knocked unconscious. After a short rest and medical inspection he resumed filming.
