- Gerry Mendoza was one of the founding members of the first camera union in Toronto.
- Wrapped principle photography on Kwan Ho Tse's 35mm ballet/classical project Double Concerto for Bravo! television. (1998)
- (1997-) For the last year, Gerry has also been writing a feature length screenplay with local actor/writer Jules Koostachin called The Passing of Souls. He has also written several short stories, poetry and a novel called Parkdale, Myth of the Concrete Jungle which interestingly enough is based on the life and travels of a cameraman.
- Other projects in development are a spoken word project with Artist, Adeena Karasick, and a dance video with dancer Donna Christo. Gerry is co-writing and co-producing these projects and is slated as director of photography.
- Gerry initiated, co-wrote and co-produced the Crazy II project and is slated as director of photography for the jazz video.
