Bobby Nash's story is one filled with sadness, and during 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 8, we got a much deeper look into his past and present.
Amir is someone from Bobby's past, though Bobby was only aware of that when Amir revealed at an AA meeting that the two had a deep history.
From that meeting forward, the hour unfolded in typical 9-1-1 fashion. It was emotionally charged and incredibly dense, as Bobby's plea for amends found the two men, once strangers, relying on one another for survival.
Esteemed and multi-talented actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner joined the cast for 9-1-1 Season 7 in the role of Amir, and he's already made quite an impact.
Bobby and Amir found themselves in a very precarious position, with threats in the form of people and the elements to contend with as they looked for help in the middle of the desert. Still, the...

Little has been known about Bobby Nash's upbringing, as the series has chosen to keep that information close to the vest.
But that all changed during 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 8, a captivating and engaging hour of television, which pushed Bobby to the forefront as he sought to make amends for the apartment fire in Minnesota and soon found himself in a battle for survival in the merciless desert.
The episode was interspersed with flashbacks from Bobby's childhood, small snippets of a life in Minnesota, which got increasingly volatile and dangerous as his firefighter captain and role model father, Tim Nash, descended into his addiction.
Fuller House alum John Brotherton joins the series in a guest-starring role as Tim, a troubled man who slowly lost everything he seemingly once held dear outside of Bobby, who stood steadfastly by his side.
But even their dynamic deteriorated as his addiction worsened, and...

When TV series 9-1-1 aired its 100th episode on April 4, the Los Angeles-set ABC firefighter drama, known for pitting its characters against tsunamis and hijacked cruise ships, did something so wild, so unexpected, that even day-one fans were left shocked: They had one of their main characters kiss another man.
The main character in question — self-avowed reformed sex addict Buck (Oliver Stark) — has been a fan favorite since the Ryan Murphy series premiered in 2018. The young firefighter quickly became known for his womanizing ways, which were often contrasted with his...

While procedurals like Blue Bloods or S.W.A.T. have been one of the top highlights of the week on CBS for years, and NBC has had all sorts of projects within the One Chicago and Law & Order franchises, the procedural drama 9-1-1 was one of the most-watched shows on Fox from 2018 to 2023.
The show then moved to ABC (which is also owned by Disney) starting in March 2024, and for nearly two months now, 9-1-1 has been posting very impressive ratings in its new home, which secured the show's renewal for a new eighth season in early April.
The fact that the show is generating so much traction is not just because its creators are television colossi Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear. It's a fascinating drama that has viewers rooting for Los Angeles first responders as they navigate their personal and professional lives no less than the other aforementioned shows.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “9-1-1” Season 7, Episode 6.
There was more than one happy couple celebrating a milestone at the end of the May 2 episode of “9-1-1”: After going missing on his wedding day to Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Chimney (Kenneth Choi) was found alive and he and Maddie’s wedding finally happened in his hospital room, as he recovered from viral encephalitis. But Buck (Oliver Stark) was also beaming as new boyfriend Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) joined the joyful celebration.
The reactions of the characters — who didn’t know Buck was bi, let alone dating a fellow firefighter — ranged from confusion from Buck and Maddie’s parents, to Hen (Aisha Hinds) saying, “It’s about damn time.”
Hewitt told TheWrap that the “Wait, what?” response from Dee Wallace, who plays Buck and Maddie’s mother, was genuine, as she missed the episodes where Buck and Tommy admitted their attraction to each other.

The Madney wedding day was far from the day Chimney and Maddie envisioned when they decided to say, "I do."
After the big tease at the end of 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 5, Buck and Eddie showed up to the Madney nuptials, looking like they'd had one wild night, and Chimney was nowhere to be found.
9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 6 picked up from that crazy reveal, and the hour subsequently filled in the missing pieces from that night before and answered the question so many had on their minds: where's Chimney?
Kenneth Choi has been with the series from the beginning, lending tremendous warmth to the ever-charismatic firefighter/paramedic, and Chimney has come a long way from the man we met in 9-1-1 Season 1, who was in a failing relationship and would almost lose his life.
Since then, he's met the love of his life, had a child, gotten engaged, and...

Tommy Kinard returned to 9-1-1 in a way many may not have expected.
The firefighter, last seen during 9-1-1 Season 2 Episode 16, was part of a much different 118 than we're used to. And he moved on from the firehouse right before it truly became the close-knit, found family that's captured the hearts of so many.
Tommy's return during 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 3 came during a nail-biting rescue, which saw Tommy flying over treacherous waters to help save the day alongside firefighters from his past and firefighters who would soon become a part of his immediate future.
Lou Ferrigno Jr., an actor with a series of credits to his name, including S.W.A.T. and Outer Banks, has played Tommy since his introduction during 9-1-1 Season 2.
Returning after a five-season gap between appearances, Ferrigno Jr. was ecstatic to return to a show he loved working on.

[This story contains spoilers from season seven, episode five of 9-1-1, “You Don’t Know Me.”]
A couple of months ago, 9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear reached out to actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. — who had guest-starred in three flashback episodes of the second season — about reprising his role as firefighter Tommy Kinard in the seventh season of the hit Fox-turned-abc first-responder drama.
Ferrigno Jr., who says he had nothing but fond memories of working with the writer and producer years ago, was instantly intrigued to learn that Minear was in the early stages of writing a multi-episode arc that would allow viewers to check back in with Tommy in the present. That storyline, as it turns out, would involve Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark), the ostensibly straight character who would navigate his newfound attraction to Tommy in the landmark 100th episode, which aired last Thursday.

Fans of the 9-1-1 TV series received the shock of the show in its 100th episode, 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 4, titled "Buck Bothered and Bewildered."
Some fans may have seen the hints written on the wall throughout the show, while others got caught completely by surprise.
A show of hands; who knew Buck was a closet gay guy -- or at least bisexual at the moment. My hand is definitely down! Shock factor.
Reviews of this new development are a mix of "it's about time" and "Wth" from astonished fans and Buck-lovers.
Is this a one-off thing that wasn't reciprocated by Buck? Or is this a new plot twist that will completely change Buck's character development for good?
There is a lot to unpack after an intense, sexually charged scene. Here are our thoughts on this recent development.

Considering Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney’s (Kenneth Choi) relationship has included a stabbing and kidnapping by her abusive ex-husband (Brian Hallisay), there’s no way their wedding can happen with something going wrong in 9-1-1 Season 7. “Maddie and Chimney had already stated that they wanted to do something simple at home. It just doesn’t work out that way,” showrunner Tim Minear tells TV Insider with a laugh. “I’m very excited about the Maddie-Chimney wedding episode because for me, it’s kind of a fractal of both of their journeys, but particularly Chimney’s journey from when he was trying to get rich quick with all his little schemes until he found his purpose in life and finally finding her.” He continues, “If you think about the stories that we’ve done with Chimney and Maddie over the seasons, there are always outside forces that...

Oliver Stark, who stars as Buck in ABC’s “9-1-1,” is “humbled and overwhelmed” by fans’ positive reaction to the end of the show’s 100th episode, which featured a kiss between Buck and Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.).

Stark also responded to the backlash surrounding the kiss, writing: “If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show. It’s featured queer relationships from the very beginning including a beautiful Black lesbian marriage played out by two of the best actresses [Aisha Hind and Tracie Thoms] I’ve ever watched.

While the world collectively processes Buck’s sexual awakening on Thursday’s 9-1-1, let us not overlook another major development from the ABC procedural’s 100th episode: they recast Harry!
Athena was understandably gobsmacked when she awoke to find her son cooking breakfast in her kitchen. Not only did she think he was still living with Michael in Miami, but she barely recognized her all-grown-up little boy, now played by Elijah M. Cooper.

When 9-1-1 co-creator Tim Minear signed up on Twitter (now known as X), he chose a telling handle to denote his legacy as a screenwriter and director: @Cancelledagain. “I was sort of infamous for all of my thundering failures over the years,” explains Minear. “Firefly lasted one season, Terriers one season, The Inside one season, Drive went for six episodes. Everything was canceled, so I just called myself ‘cancelled again,’ which actually worked out for me because these are all beloved little cult shows now.”
With the seventh season of 9-1-1, which he created with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, underway and a milestone 100th episode premiering April 4, Minear now has a big, long-running show on his hands, plus a successful spinoff in 9-1-1: Lone Star, which will debut its fifth season in the fall. So much so that he’s considering a name change if he returns to the social media platform.

9-1-1 has been renewed for an eighth season by ABC.
The season seven premiere of 9-1-1 in March delivered a cumulative audience of 11.76 million total viewers within the first seven days, and marked the series’ highest-rated multiplatform telecast in nearly two years in Adults 18-49. It paid homage to the disaster thriller The Poseidon Adventure.
The drama stands as ABC’s most-watched current series across all platforms this season.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, 9-1-1 is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision.
9-1-1 moved to ABC after six seasons on Fox, where it was consistently one of the highest-rated shows. It now fits nicely into ABC’s Thursday lineup with Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, both of which do well for for the Disney-owned broadcaster. This week’s new episode will mark the series’ 100th episode.

The first responders of 911 will keep putting their lives on the line at ABC.
The network has renewed 911 for the 2024-25 season, which will mark its second on ABC and eighth overall. The series, from Disney’s 20th Television, Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, moved to ABC from Fox this season. The renewal comes as 911 is set to air its 100th episode this week.
The show was Fox’s top-rated drama for several seasons, and it’s picked up that mantle at ABC. Through its first three episodes of a strike-shortened seventh season, 911 is averaging 5.29 million same-day viewers (versus 4.7 million last season), and the March 14 season premiere more than doubled its initial audience with a week of streaming and other delayed viewing, going from 4.93 million to 11.76 million viewers. ABC also says that 911 is the network’s most watched current series across all platforms this season.

Fans of The Bachelor and 9-1-1 were given surprising information earlier this month when it was revealed that the 118 would be responding to an emergency at Bachelor Mansion.
The most recent Bachelor, Joey Graziadei, will attend the special event, adding to the immersion.
Series host Jesse Palmer was also spotted in a recent promo as one of Joey’s contestants takes unwell after getting out of the iconic limousines on opening night.
But where did the decision to make this crossover a reality come from?
Jennifer Love Hewitt, one of 9-1-1’s series regulars, pitched the crossover when ABC picked up the show the same day Fox canceled it.
“The whole crossover episode came about because Jennifer Love Hewitt called me after she went to one of the finales of The Bachelor,” co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear told Entertainment Weekly.

In one of the wackier crossovers in TV history, a crisis on the set of The Bachelor will set the stage for 9-1-1’s forthcoming 100th episode, “Buck, Bothered and Bewildered,” airing on Thursday, April 4. Next week TV shows The Bachelor and 9-1-1 will crossover in a special episode. How did the collaboration happen? Keep reading for all the details on the television event of the year.
Joey Graziadei Makes Acting Debut
Joey Graziadei has experience as a leading man on The Bachelor. However, he’s about to jump from reality TV to scripted television with an appearance on 9-1-1. The fourth episode of Season 7 of the First Responder drama will feature a fictional incident at the famous Bachelor mansion.
It may be the last time viewers see the iconic estate. Jenn Tran’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette won’t film there, and it’s unclear if this fall’s Golden Bachelorette will either.

9-1-1 fans can breathe a massive sigh of relief after Thursday’s conclusion to the season’s three-part premiere, now that Bobby and Athena are finally back on land — and back in the saddle. (Bow-chicka-bow-wow!)
Of course, not everyone fared quite as well as the 118’s Mom and Dad this week. For starters, remember that guy who “just wanted to cash out” on the ship? Well, he cashed out all right… from life. He was the episode’s first official victim, leaving just a handful of survivors to make their way off the boat.

Exclusive: 9-1-1 is firing up the airwaves on its new home at ABC.
The Season 7 premiere, which paid homage to the disaster thriller The Poseidon Adventure, has now amassed 8.85M viewers after three days of viewing across ABC, Hulu and other digital platforms.
That’s nearly an 80% increase from the live+same-day audience of 4.93M. The three-day numbers cement the episode as the show’s most-watched multi-platform episode since November 8, 2022 — about halfway through Season 6, which was the final season to run on Fox.
According to Disney, the 9-1-1 premiere hit a new streaming high with 2.4M tuning in across those platforms. On Hulu, the series scored its most-streamed day ever on March 15, one day after Season 7 debuted, tallying 1.6M hours.
In terms of ratings, the ABC drama soared to a 1.84 among the 18-49 demo, which is the show’s highest-rated telecast in nearly two years, since May 16, 2022.

ABC is creating synergy between their primetime shows, with 9-1-1 and The Bachelor coming together for a crossover episode.
Oliver Stark, who plays Buck on 9-1-1, had recently teased that two shows on the network were about to cross paths.
“It’s not a direct crossover, but there’s a feel of it,” Stark told People in a recent interview.
He continued, “There’s a really fun emergency, and it’s not necessarily the biggest in terms of spectacle, but in the fifth episode of the season, there’s one that kind of touches base with another ABC show. I’m really excited for that just because I think it will be a good watch.”
The outlet then received a photo of the 118 ambulance parked outside the mansion seen on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and The Golden Bachelor.
It’s unclear what storyline will connect the scripted series and the dating competition.

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “9-1-1” Season 7 premiere.
The Season 7 premiere of “9-1-1” opened in a therapist’s office. In hushed tones, LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) explained that she’s scared to go on a cruise with her husband for a very “9-1-1” reason: She was traumatized as a child by the 1972 ABC disaster thriller “The Poseidon Adventure.” As the flashback unfolds, scenes from the Irwin Allen disaster movie flash on screen along with a vintage ABC logo.
It’s a silly, so-on-the-nose-it’s-brilliant moment that’s perfect for one of television’s wildest shows. “9-1-1” is back, and it’s found a new home on ABC.
“That was so important to me,” series creator, writer and executive producer Tim Minear told TheWrap about the film nod. Dubbed the “Master of Disaster,” Allen defined the disaster film genre through movies such as “The Towering Inferno” and “The Swarm.

When 9-1-1 was canceled, our hearts sank.
Luckily, the cancellation came with a caveat: Fox's former flagship series was being picked up by rival network ABC.
It was a stunning decision that came after a booming 9-1-1 Season 6, which saw the series re-embracing many qualities that made it such a success from the onset.
At the time, Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich said:
"Thanks to the creative drive of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, as well as the talented cast, 9-1-1 has been one of the most defining and original dramas on network television over the last six seasons, and we are honored to bring it to the esteemed group of series on ABC."
When the last season wrapped up, all the principal characters were in a solid place, with the 118 even doing some bonding on the roof, memories of their most recent triumphs playing fresh on their minds.

“American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy and frequent “AHS” star Sarah Paulson reunited back in 2020 for Netflix’s “Ratched,” an 8-episode series telling the origin story of iconic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest villain Nurse Mildred Ratched. The series invited us to “meet the woman before the monster,” and the original plan was for a two season storyline.
Those plans have changed, however. As reported by Deadline, Sarah Paulson has confirmed this week that there will not be a second season of Netflix’s “Ratched” after all.
Two seasons of “Ratched” had originally been ordered up back in 2017.
Here’s the plot synopsis for the first season, which is streaming on Netflix…
“In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image...

After four years, what has long been suspected, has been confirmed. Despite an initial two-season order, Ratched, Ryan Murphy’s asylum drama series starring Sarah Paulson in the title role, has been canceled after one season at Netflix. Paulson confirmed the news in a video posted to a fan account on X (fka Twitter). You can watch it below.
Inspired by the diabolical Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Ratched, from Murphy and Ian Brennan and executive produced by the film’s producer Michael Douglas, was set in mid-20th century Northern California. It centered around Mildred Ratched (Paulson), who lands a job at a psychiatric hospital as a nurse. The series followed the nurse’s first days navigating the mental healthcare system and her journey to head nurse in Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel.
The origin story, created by Evan Romansky, also starred Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon,...

The first teaser trailer for 9-1-1 season seven has a real Titanic vibe. The 30-second video shows a ship in distress but doesn’t confirm that Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby (Peter Krause) are on board. However, given their history, there’s a 99.9% likelihood the twosome’s honeymoon plans will come to an abrupt – and watery – end.
At the end of season six, the couple decided to spend their honeymoon on a cruise without telling any of their friends. And so, of course, the new season will begin with a dramatic rescue at sea.
Season seven marks the show’s move from Fox to ABC. The new season kicks off on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 8pm Et/Pt.
“Thanks to the creative drive of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, as well as the talented cast, 9-1-1 has been one of the most defining and original dramas on network...

“Feud” is gearing up to return with a bang in January, and FX has released the first teaser for its star-studded portrayal of one of the 20th century’s most sordid literary feuds. The second installment of Ryan Murphy‘s anthology series, titled “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” centers on Truman Capote’s inner circle of “swans,” a term he coined to describe his wealthy female socialite friends.
“The White Lotus” scene stealer Tom Hollander portrays Capote, with Naomi Watts, Chloë Sevigny, Molly Ringwald, Calista Flockhart, and Diane Lane as his close friends, whose exploits Capote infamously documented in the short story “La Côte Basque 1965” for Esquire. Capote was attempting to write the shelved novel “Answered Prayers” and used his friends’ gossip and secrets as fodder.

Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans is based on the bestselling book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer. The miniseries is set in the 1970s and ends with Truman Capote’s death in 1984. It chronicles the tale of the famous wunderkind author (Tom Hollander) as he stabs several of his female friends — whom he called his “swans” — in the back by publishing a roman à clef short story called “La Côte Basque 1965” in Esquire in 1975.

FX has released the first teaser for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans.” The second season of Murphy’s anthology series chronicles the literary scandal that sparked a fallout between writer Truman Capote and a high-society group of women, known as his “Swans.”
Tom Hollander portrays Truman Capote, the “In Cold Blood” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” author who betrayed his close circle of powerful women by publishing a story titled “La Côte Basque, 1965” in Esquire. The “Swans” include Babe Paley (Naomi Watts), C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) and Slim Keith (Diane Lane), wealthy and powerful women whose secrets are revealed after Capote’s story is published.
Joining the cast are Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Treat Williams and Molly Ringwald. Flockhart and Moore portray fellow “Swans” Lee Radziwill and Ann Woodward, respectively.
