Patrick J. Adams will return to USA’s “Suits” for its ninth and final season, USA Network told TheWrap.
He is set to reprise his role as Mike Ross, the on-screen husband of Rachel Zane, who was played by the now-Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. Per the cable channel, Adams will come back mid-season to get involved in a case that puts him toe to toe with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl).
Ross — and thus, Adams — left the series at the end of Season 7 to move to Seattle with Rachel. When TheWrap asked USA if Markle will return, the net referred us to series creator Aaron Korsch’s pretty consistent remarks about that popular question. Basically, she’s always welcome back — but don’t hold your breath.

USA Network’s legal drama Suits will be coming to an end after the upcoming ninth season, which will premiere in summer 2020.
Over the years, as in any long-running series, cast members come and go. We saw three of Suits’ original six series regulars exit in Seasons 6-7, Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. Following a reboot at the start of Season 8, three new series regulars, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull and Katherine Heigl joined original stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman.
Suits, which debuted in 2011, rose to become the network’s most popular series for several years. In an interview with Deadline, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that there is a possibility for original stars Adams and Markle and other fan favorites to come back in the final 10 episodes. Stay tuned for that.
From Universal Cable Productions, Suits was created and is executive produced by Korsh.

Manhattan, Season 2, Episode 4, “Overlord”
Written by Alexander Woo
Directed by Christopher Misiano
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on Wgn
“If it helps to pretend you’re me, pretend. It’s what I do.” Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer
The first three episodes of Manhattan‘s second season have largely focused on the disappearance of Frank Winter. While they have all been outstanding, the narrative has felt a little fragmented without all the characters on the Hill together. In “Overlord,” the story is still split between the goings on at Los Alamos and the fate of Frank, but it ultimately brings the implosion team—and the narrative—back together in a satisfying fashion.
“Overlord” refers to the code name for the Allies’ D-Day invasion at Normandy, which serves as the backdrop for this episode. But it’s also a reference to science chief J. Robert Oppenheimer, who experiences a dangerous case of cold feet,...

The Americans, Season 3, Episode 12: “I Am Abassin Zadran”
Written by Peter Ackerman & Stuart Zicherman
Directed by Christopher Misiano
Airs Wednesdays at 10pm (Et) on FX
In its third season, The Americans has made its scope wider, moving beyond the emotional focus of the Jennings to take a broader view of those affected by the Cold War. After the spotlight on Phillip and Elizabeth revealing their secret to Paige in “Stingers,” last week’s “One Day In The Life Of Anton Baklanov” examined a variety of elements in the drama’s universe, to less claustrophobic but still tense effect. “I Am Abassin Zadran” finds an effective compromise between the two, developing disparate aspects of The Americans while still giving the episode a moving center, which, if not quite on the level of the Paige reveal, certainly leaves viewers with their heart in their throat. That core, obviously, is Martha, and...

A review of tonight's "The Americans" coming up just as soon as I beg my coffee to wake me up... "I can't be here with you like this." -Martha As a rule, I tend to be biased against secrecy in the shows I watch. Too much conflict on television — both dramas and comedies — is driven by people keeping things to themselves for reasons that don't make sense outside the context of writers who need to prolong tension. Rare is the show that's more interesting when secrets are being kept than when they're out in the open. "The Americans" is a different story, of course. The premise makes layer upon layer of secrecy job requirement number one for Philip and Elizabeth. On your average show where someone is withholding the truth, the stakes tend to be embarrassment, or relationship trouble. If Mr. and Mrs. Jennings are found out, the consequences would...

Agent Carter, Season 1, Episode 8, “Valediction”
Written by Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters
Directed by Christopher Misiano
Aired at 9pm (Et) on Tuesdays on ABC
The entirety of the Agent Carter finale feels like the writers’ room looked at their board of index cards cataloguing ongoing storylines and realized they’d bitten off more than they could wrap up effectively in eight quick episodes. In these last hours, ignored relationships fly back in (literally and figuratively) as quickly as they were scrapped half a season ago, the climax is kept decidedly small-scale and simple, and multiple shortcuts leave everything a bit un-factchecked and everyone a bit out of character for the sake of squeezing in the most important beats. The worst part about these shortcuts is that if some superfluous scenes had been removed, those wasted minutes could have been spent filling in details elsewhere. For example, the only true reason that...

Revenge, Season 2, Episode 8: “Lineage”
Written by Nikki Toscano
Directed by Chris Misiano
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on ABC
Revenge steps back in time this week and though I’m generally against flashback episodes (they always ring a little soap opera to me), “Lineage” offers good insight into where our characters come from and what drives them.
Adrian Barbeau guest stars on this Revenge as Victoria’s con artist mother, Marion Harper. Marion seems to be the one woman that Victoria can’t steamroll. The most intriguing aspects of the night are the revelations about Victoria’s past, courtesy of Marion. We’ve always known about Victoria’s darkness. Heck, we’ve seen it more than once. But now we have a real source for that darkness and it makes some of her actions just a little bit more understandable.

When Harvey's beloved assistant Donna got the boot a few weeks back, we were left stunned. Not only is she the resident source of comic relief on Suits, but she's Harvey's righthand woman! She can't be gone forever, right? Luckily, the promo for tonight's episode is an epic one. Pearson Hardman goes to court and Harvey's taking the fall for Donna's mistake. Will that fracture their relationship forever?
I caught up with actress Sarah Rafferty to get the dirt on Donna's firing and what we can expect.
Ology: So Donna's firing episode was pretty emotional for me. What was it like shooting that episode?
Sarah: I’m so grateful for the writers for such an awesome episode and we had Christopher Misiano directing it and he just has such an amazing spirit that you just completely trust him. I’m just so lucky that we have somebody we all have faith with.

"Law & Order: Los Angeles" -- or "Lola" as producers would have you call it -- arrives at an interesting time in the history of the L&O franchise.
Earlier in 2010, the original series abruptly went off the air after a 20-season run. "Lola" came in as a swift replacement, bearing the unique distinction of being the only series picked up for broadcast before a single frame was filmed or actor cast.
Slowly, over the summer, a series started to come into focus, with heavyweight actors like Skeet Ulrich, Terrence Howard and Alfred Molina all coming on board. And just before the series Sept. 29 premiere (which you can check out the review of right here) producers finally opened up about how the series stays true the franchise, while becoming something of a different beast -- thanks in large part to its location.
"If we could have a house band to provide the vibe,...

Law & Order may be gone after 20 seasons and 456 episodes, but it certainly didn’t sound the death knell for the long-running franchise: It paved the way for Law & Order: Los Angeles, a veritable reboot of the courtroom series that will premiere this Wednesday on NBC. EW was invited to check out the set in downtown Los Angeles and learn about the show.
The move to Los Angeles was crucial, says Executive Producer Christopher Misiano, who wants to depict the entire city beyond Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Each episode will be named for and set in various neighborhoods of L.A.
