She joins previously announced cast members Olivia Thirlby and E.J. Bonilla
Based on the Israeli format, the project tells the story of how one couple’s decision to get married can affect everyone in their lives. Lower will play Naomi, Adrienne’s (Thirlby) roommate and best friend. Described as defiantly single, defiant in general, there’s nothing Naomi loves more than a good fight. Smash, Season 2, Episode 12: “The Producers”
Written by: Becky Mode
Directed by: Tricia Brock
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on NBC
As Smash heads into the final stretch, most likely for good, this Saturday’s episode gives the audience an overdue taste of what Hit List is all about. But it might be too little too late. Why are we just now getting to see the heart of Hit List? Before the second season even began the audience knew everything there is to know about Bombshell so why after nearly a whole season does Smash now get around to showing us the whole of Hit List (or at least the best part when Karen gets shot)? “The Producers” is mostly a series of performances from Bombshell’s competition Hit List split up with scenes of Tom and Julia bickering. Oh, and Kathie Lee Gifford is here for about two minutes,...

Smash, Season 2, Episode 7: “Musical Chairs”
Written by: Becky Mode
Directed by: Casey Nicholaw
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm (Et) on NBC
Yes Smash fans, unfortunately the end is near. NBC ‘s decision to move the show to the television graveyard that is Saturday night puts the final nail in the coffin for Smash. As disappointing as it is it better not discourage viewers from watching because there is still some good stuff left here, if only for the original songwriting. We’re finally getting to the inevitable face-off between Bombshell and Hit List. Even with the schedule changes hopefully those dedicated few will continue to watch and prove to NBC that they had something pretty terrific here and ruined it.
“Musical Chairs” features directors Tom and Derek taking on their new shows. Tom fails miserably at trying to teach new choreography to the Bombshell cast since Derek refuses to sign...

Updated: In features, it is the norm for big franchise movies to have multiple writers take a pass at a script before they get greenlighted. Now that Mo seems to have migrated to TV in the case of tentpole series based on famous properties. During the 2008-09 development season, CBS put in development a reboot of iconic TV series Hawaii Five-0 penned by former Criminal Minds showrunner Ed Bernero. The project didn't go to pilot, and the next season, CBS tried again with new writers: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Peter Lenkov. The script sailed through the pilot stage and the show landed on CBS' 2010 fall schedule. This season, the same happened to 4 shows with pre-sold titles: ABC's Charlie's Angels, based on the classic series, and Pan Am, inspired by the famous airline, as well as NBC's Prime Suspect, an adaptation of the acclaimed British series, and The Playboy Club,...

It's another busy development season for Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly's Sony-based TV production company, which has set up eight projects from such auspices as Elmore Leonard, Graham Yost, Michael Dinner, Barry Sonnenfeld and Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman.
What is different this year is that most of the projects are set up at cable networks.
Since its 2003 launch, Timberman/Beverly Prods. (formerly 25C) had been focused on developing for the broadcast nets, landing several pilots and a series order from NBC for "Kidnapped."
Timberman and Beverly tested the cable waters this year with the A&E pilot "Danny Fricke." Now they're hooked.
"It has opened the door to explore subject matter that we would've never thought of developing for broadcast," Timberman said.
It also helped that their company is based at Sony TV, a major cable player.
Timberman/Beverly's cable slate includes an untitled Elmore Leonard drama and "Hit Man" at FX,...
