Paramount has rebooted Criminal Minds, and starting in November 2022, we were once again immersed in the story of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (Bau) agents as they grappled with criminal minds and personal lives. Now, the story has taken an even darker turn, it has been released in a streaming format rather than the traditional TV broadcast one, and the show itself has been subtitled as Evolution. And before we knew it, a new season was already in production (the second season of Evolution and the seventeenth since Criminal Minds premiered on CBS in 2005).
While fans wait in anticipation, the upcoming Season 17 has already had its fair share of details and speculation. Josh Stewart, who has played Will Lamontagne Jr. since Season 2, will be leaving the show, while many are sure that everyone's favorite Spencer Reid will be back, as Matthew Gray Gubler's schedule has finally been cleared, and the...

Before primetime television fans fell in love with Shemar Moore on Criminal Minds, he was a soap opera star. The current star of S.W.A.T. played Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless. The big news for the daytime soap opera’s fans is that Moore said he would return to the show.
Here is what Moore had to say about The Young and the Restless.
Shemar Moore Willing To Return To The Young And The Restless
Shemar Moore starred as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless from 1994 until 2005. He also returned with guest appearances in 2014, 2019, and again in 2023. Malcolm is the half-brother of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and had several conflicts with his brother. This includes getting Neil’s wife pregnant. His return in 2019 was after St. John died and Malcolm returned after Neil’s death on the show.

Would Shemar Moore ever return to the soap opera The Young and the Restless or the Criminal Minds reboot?
If you don’t know, the 53-year-old actor starred on The Young and the Restless from 1994 to 2002 as Malcolm Winters. He also made appearances numerous times over the years. He also starred in the original Criminal Minds series as Derek Morgan.
Keep reading to find out more…
He told First for Women, “If The Young and the Restless called me today, I would go. Because you never forget where you came from. It sounds cliche and maybe cheesy, but it’s also true.” He added he’d return for Criminal Minds, too.
But don’t expect him back on The Young and the Restless permanently!

The Bau is getting an assist from a Desperate Housewives alum.
TVLine reports that Felicity Huffman has closed a deal to guest star during Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2, and her character has ties to the original series.
Huffman is playing Dr. Jill Gideon, described as “a brilliant biological psychiatrist who winds up helping the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate a murderous conspiracy theory.”
If that surname sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the wife of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), so she has plenty of ties to the team.
Jill isn’t too fond of getting involved with the Bau because of her past, which concludes a “complicated history” with David Rossi (Joe Mantegna).
However, her expertise is needed because the team is struggling to crack open the Gold Star mystery.

Shemar Moore has had an impressive career, starring in The Young and the Restless and, most recently, S.W.A.T.
With the latter ending its seven-season run this year, the talented actor is opening up about his next move.
Naturally, there are questions about whether he would return to Criminal Minds, where he played Special Agent Derek Morgan for 11 seasons as a series regular and two as a special guest.
Speaking with TV Insider about the final season of S.W.A.T., Moore revealed that an invitation is all he’s waiting for to sign up for an encore.
“I never forget where I came from,” he affirmed, citing his multiple past returns to The Young and the Restless and Criminal Minds.
Moore said his schedule is crazy, so he and the producers must “get creative” to make the magic happen.

Right now, Shemar Moore is leading the CBS procedural S.W.A.T., entering its final season, but before these seven years as team leader Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, the network fans knew him as Special Agent Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds. Though it initially ended in 2020, Criminal Minds is now back with a continuation, Evolution, on Paramount+. Most of the cast from the original run has returned, so what are the chances of Moore reprising his role as Morgan? TV Insider had to ask him just that when we caught up with him about S.W.A.T.‘s upcoming season. “All I need is an invitation,” Moore says. “I never forget where I came from. I’ve gone back to the soap opera which started my career three or four times. It started with The Young and the Restless, and then it was Criminal Minds. And that’s my evolution. Shemar Moore is revisiting one of his most iconic roles.
According to Deadline, Moore will return to Genoa City as Malcolm Winters for one episode as part of the soap's 50th birthday celebrations.
Shemar initially starred on the series from 1994-2005 and has returned to the role on multiple occasions.
He most recently returned in 2019 for special episodes that paid tribute to Kristoff St. John, who played his on-screen brother Neil.
As for what brings Malcolm back to town, Deadline notes that he's back to "connect with his daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and nephews Devon (Bryton James) and Nate (Sean Dominic)."
The beloved daytime soap celebrated its 50th anniversary this week, and it's nice to know that the show will continue to tip the hat to the past later in the year.
Moore has remained with the CBS family since leaving the show.

Denise Dowse, the busy character actress who portrayed Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley on Beverly Hills, 90210, Judge Rebecca Damsen on The Guardian and therapist Rhonda Pine on Insecure, has died. She was 64.
Dowse’s passing was announced Saturday on her Instagram account by older sister Tracey Dowse, who praised her sibling as “the most amazing sister, a consummate, illustrious actress, mentor and director. She was my very best friend and final family member.”
On Aug. 7, Tracey wrote on Instagram that her younger sister was hospitalized and in a coma brought on by a “virulent form of meningitis.”
On the big screen, Denise Dowse stood out as Ray Charles’ manager Marlene André in Ray (2004), starring Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, and she played another principal, this one based on a real-life educator at Richmond (California) High School, in Coach Carter (2005), starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Shemar Moore, the star of CBS crime drama S.W.A.T., has Covid-19, according to an Instagram post he made today.

In a perfect world, all of our favorite characters from Criminal Minds would be reunited for one last hurrah in its 15th and final season. After all, the show is ending - don't we deserve to say goodbye to everyone who made it so awesome? It does sound as though executive producer Erica Messer is doing everything in her power to make her dreams come true. In a January 2019 interview with Deadline, Messer spoke about the possibility of including old favorites in the final season, saying, "I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years." What she didn't say, and what we're still wondering, is which of those characters will we actually see.

We know that Criminal Minds is returning soon for its 15th and final season. We know that - based on the cast photos shot for the July/August issue of CBS's Watch! Criminal Minds is returning for its 15th season, which will be - as most Criminal Minds fans know - its last. Seeing as we were introduced to the many memorable members of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit nearly 14 years ago, it's not going to be easy to say goodbye. With that said, we do know that the series will be going out with a bang, featuring some exciting guest stars and a (hopefully) satisfying end for all. Here's everything we know so far about the last season.
Who Is Returning For Season 15 of Criminal Minds?
All of your favorite current cast members will be included in the 15th and final season, including series vets David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Jennifer "J.J." Jareau (A.J. Cook), and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness). The cast photos shot for the July/August issue of CBS' Watch!

It’s lights out for Madea, the battle-ax sass queen with a criminal background created three decades ago and portrayed by Tyler Perry. That’s right. Perry, 49, says he will no longer put on a gray wig and wiggle his 6-foot-5 frame into the floral print dresses of the geriatric black woman who righteously goes whupass on any fool who gets in her way. A Madea Family Funeral is the 11th and final film to star the character most associated with Perry in a series of films, plays and books.

“A Madea Family Funeral” is the eleventh Tyler Perry film to showcase Perry in the role of the fire-breathing battle-axe-in-flowered-print-dresses inner-city drag matriarch Madea. Since Perry has said that it will be the last, it seems reasonable to assume that the funeral the movie pivots around might be Madea’s own. Is there anyone left for her to terrorize? Have no fear, though: Madea is alive and well (even if it seems a borderline spoiler to reveal that she doesn’t die). And I’m not convinced that her retirement will be any more permanent than a typical rock star’s. Also still kicking, I’m pleased to report, is her posse — the loose-cannon trio of geriatric relatives who’ve become her backup chorus in cussed infamy, though having been through more than a few Perry films themselves, their voices now come through just as loudly and riotously as Madea’s.

With the announcement that CBS’ Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 15th and final season, one question that came to many viewers’ minds was: Might Thomas Gibson‘s Aaron Hotchner be even a tiny part of the crime drama’s swan song?
The question of Shemar Moore, also a former/original cast member, returning during Season 15 isn’t nearly as complicated. Since leaving the series in early 2017, and while now fronting CBS’ own S.W.A.T., Moore has thus far reprised his role as Derek Morgan twice. Another encore during the show’s final, 10-episode run can easily be presumed (though is not confirmed).

Let's just cut to the chase here, people: Shemar Moore is a damn treat that I'd happily snack on all day long. The 48-year-old heartthrob has a habit of looking dangerously sexy 24/7, whether he's in character as Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds or, ya know, simply existing as a human. On behalf of all the other Shemar diehards out there, I did my due diligence and uncovered a sh*t ton of shirtless pictures of the hunk, including plenty of Instagram selfies that put his cheese-grater-like abs fully on display. Trust us: you'll want to scroll all the way through to the end, but you might want to grab a cold towel first to wipe away your sweat. Don't say we didn't warn you.

The Bau can use all the help it can get right now, so what better time for Derek Morgan to return than in the Criminal Minds season 12 finale? Reid's mother is missing, Reid has to square off with Cat Adams again and sure, Mr. Scratch might not have been the one behind framing Reid, but he is still out there somewhere.
And in "Red Light," Morgan comes to the team with a lead that might help catch Peter Lewis.

It’s time to get up close and personal with some of Africa’s most iconic predators in this six-part series. In the Zambian wilderness, where lions, leopards and hyenas compete for their next meal, we can expect no mercy from these carnivores. With a revolutionary thermal camera and producers who camped in close proximity, Smithsonian Earth brings us into the secret world of these leaders, highlighting the family dramas as they build allegiances, fight for family, suffer the loss of offspring and search for mates. Although this isn’t a Lion King remake, you can still expect a powerful storyline.

If you're a fan of Moore, then you know he's not one to totally abandon any role.

So, Shemar Moore will return to Criminal Minds to guest star on the series' 12th season finale, Wednesday, May 10 at 9/8c, on the CBS Television Network.
An original cast member is coming home!
