Updated, 9:21 a.m.: Warner Bros on Thursday unveiled the first full-length trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the very long awaited sequel to the subaquatic James Wan superhero pic which remains one of DC’s biggest successes.
“Four years ago, I was basically unemployed, a wanderer with no home,” Jason Momoa’s title character proclaims in the segment. “But now, I’m a husband and a father. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He’s now got a job, as well, looking after a kingdom of half a billion as King of Atlantis. But not everything comes easily for him in the sequel, as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns in hopes of taking him out.

Outside of Justice League footage and the photos released of Jason Mamoa grimacing, we haven't seen a lot regarding Aquaman. Today just a little more on the film has been released as it starts shooting. Warner Bros. sent out a press release which included the title card for the DC superhero film, and it kinda looks like a warped Star Trek logo. Compared to past Aquaman logos, it's definitely a bit more rigid than past incarnations and looks a whole lot less like an A, which is the original intention behind the logo. Check the press release below and share your thoughts.

Austin - One of the things that impresses me most about the team that throws the SXSW Film Festival in Austin every year is how adaptable they are. I've seen them roll with all sorts of things, and they seem to me to be open to all sorts of ideas in terms of programming. There was nothing originally scheduled for the Sunday night midnight slot at the Paramount, but when I woke up on Sunday morning, the festival had announced a very special treat for anyone who had a badge for the festival, and anticipation was running high because of which title it was. This coming weekend, I'll be attending the junket for "Furious 7," so I was already scheduled to see the film. But seeing it tonight at the Paramount Theater, completely packed with lunatic movie fans who were all crazy excited to be there was better than any junket screening possibly could be.

A haunted family struggles to uncover a terrifying secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world in Insidious: Chapter 2, the latest nerve-twisting horror thriller from director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell.
Insidious centers on the troubles of the Lamberts, a suburban family who leave their haunted house for a new home, only to learn it’s not their house that is haunted – it’s their eldest son. Insidious: Chapter 2 rejoins the family as they try to put their recent troubles behind them, but discover that the spirits that have tormented them are far from finished.
Produced by Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) and Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity, Insidious), the sequel reteams the cast of the first film, including Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy, Watchmen, Little Children), Rose Byrne (X-Men: First Class, Bridesmaids, 28 Weeks Later), Barbara Hershey (Black Swan, The Portrait of a Lady), Lin Shaye (There’s Something About Mary,...

The powers-that-be over at New Line are expecting to scare up some decent box office cash this weekend as The Conjuring begins haunting theatres. In fact, they're so confident in the flick (which they should be since it's pretty awesome), they're already thinking franchise.
New Line president Toby Emmerich tells Variety that New Line is exploring a potential franchise based on the Warrens’ investigations, which also involved cases that wound up as the movies The Amityville Horror and The Haunting in Connecticut. “We have Lorraine’s permission and support, and we are working on developing another film,” Emmerich said.

As written previously, Lili Taylor’s character, Caroline, seems to endure some hands-on experiences with Bathsheba, the witch spirit. Taylor expands on the film’s story and her character’s place in it. “She’s really scared for a lot of it, and then she’s like ferocious for the last part of it.” We’d been tipped off there is a bit of possession in the mix as well. Taylor explains her process for these scenes: “You know, that’s other worldly, is what it is. A match ignites in the dark. A trembling woman’s frail features are barely lit by its glow. We see a staircase below her descending into that blackness. The anxiety of the moment can be heard in the heavy breaths taken by our heroine.
The match burns too low and burns her, causing her to drop it, and the light flickers out. As she eases slowly into darkness, trying in vain to light her way with wooden matches, we wonder if some creature that loves the empty shadows will reveal itself... and when.
When the answer jolts you from your comfortable spot in the real world, you remember this is Exactly the kind of movie James Wan has perfected. Ed and Lorraine Warren have spent the majority of their lives helping people and families who are suffering through paranormal occurrences. Their exploits are touched upon in The Conjuring, and this week's EW has taken us into one of the darkest places on the planet.
Over the years Ed and Lorraine have removed objects from the locations of some of their cases that were either causing or contributing to some part of the problem of said hauntings (most notable of which is Annabelle the Doll, featured in the upcoming film). These items are currently locked away and on display inside Lorraine's home in what has been dubbed their "Museum of the Occult."

Our friends across the pond have their very own trailer for James Wan's The Conjuring, and even though it's very similar to the trailer we have here in the States, it is just different enough to warrant another story. Check it out!

These past couple of weeks have been a wear on my body. Between moving, going to Cinema Wasteland (hopefully, i’ll write something up about that) and planning & organizing the Late Nite Grindhouse show this weekend, I need a few days off. Sadly, that will not happen so apologies if some of the stuff you see this week is not new to you but we really think we should post it.
I for one am getting pretty stoked to see James Wan’s The Conjuring. The first trailer, if you want to even call it that as it seemed more like a whole scene, definitely made me clap my hands. Warner Brothers seems to be very happy with the test screenings of the film that they have moved it to a summer date to bring a chill to the hot weather. The following trailer gives us a bit more information...

Andrea Perron. She and her family experienced a living hell in a tiny farmhouse for nearly ten years. Ten long years. The aforementioned hell is the basis for the new film from James Wan, The Conjuring, and it's bound to get people talking about their beliefs... and even the lack thereof.
That being said, given that the events portrayed in the movie, as well as in Perron's book, House of Darkness, House of Light, took place over a decade ago, the question beckons... what has become of the farmhouse since she and her family left? Are the current owners of the home experiencing anything? In the video below Perron travels back to the now infamous location to speak first-hand with the people who now live there. This is Definitely worth a look for you cats interested in the paranormal. Dig it!

That clinches it - officially terrified to sleep in the dark. (well maybe with the TV on).
From New Line Cinema comes a feature film drawn from the case files of married demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Conjuring stars Academy Award® nominee Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air,” “Orphan”) and Patrick Wilson (“Young Adult,” “Prometheus”) as the Warrens, and Ron Livingston (HBO’s “Band of Brothers”) and Lili Taylor...

Our guy Casey King is busy wandering the halls of WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, and he took some time from his drinking in the weirdness to call in with several news items that we're gonna break up into a couple of stories. The following one has us very excited.
During the panel for James Wan's The Conjuring, Wan revealed to the crowd in attendance that he shot the film to get a PG-13 rating; however, upon screening it for the MPAA, they slapped the movie with an R rating anyway because they deemed it too scary.
Two clips were also shown at the event, the first of which is basically what you guys saw in the trailer that's been around for a couple of weeks. The second, however, has to do with the sisters sleeping when one suddenly gets yanked awake in bed by her feet. After looking under...
