Kevin Connolly may be familiar as Ryan Malloy in the 1990s sitcom "Unhappily Ever After," but he's best known for his role as Eric Murphy on HBO's "Entourage." He garnered a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of "E," a guy who will go to great lengths to keep best friend Vince on the right track. It was unlikely that "E" would become as a director. Yet Connolly has made his second feature film "Dear Eleanor," starring Isabelle Fuhrman, Liana Liberato, Jessica Alba, Luke Wilson and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Read More: Review: Doug Ellin's 'Entourage' Starring Jeremy Piven, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon & More "Dear Eleanor Roosevelt, I'm writing to you because my friend Ellie has lost her mind." So goes the opening line for the newly released trailer for this coming-of-age story set in 1962 that sees Fuhrman and Liberato playing best friends who decide to go on a cross-country road.

For a project beleaguered with numerous setbacks, during which time Nick Cassavetes, Joe Johnston and Barry Levinson were all attached to helm the crime drama, it appears the long-gestating biopic Gotti has finally settled on its director in Kevin Connolly.
Deadline has the report, revealing that despite an unsteady path to development, John Travolta remains attached to star as Gotti Sr., the New York mob boss who went down in history as one of the deadliest the Big Apple has ever seen during the ’90s. From extortion to loan-sharking, racketeering to illegal gambling, Gotti was a high-profile member of the Gambini who shared many of the devil-may-care characteristics of Al Capone – he was even found guilty of tax evasion much like the infamous Chicago gangster.
For Connolly’s big-screen depiction of the devious crook, though, the story will unfold from the perspective of his son John Jr. – no word yet...

First it was Nick Cassavetes, then Joe Johnston and then Barry Levinson. Now it looks like the long-developing John Gotti biopic, still set to star John Travolta, finally has its ultimate director in Kevin Connolly. Travolta has been aboard throughout the entire tortuous journey as Gotti Sr., the Gambini Family mobster convicted in 1992 of murder, extortion, racketeering, loan-sharking, illegal gambling and, just like Al Capone, tax evasion. The all-round goodfella died in prison in 2002. His story will be viewed from the point-of-view of his son John Jr. (yet to be cast) who himself wasn't unknown to the law. He served a nine-year sentence for racketeering, but insists he's now on the straight-and-narrow. That ought to be a relief to the team behind the film, on which he's a producer, having sold his "life rights". Early version were going under the moniker Three Generations, although it's unclear if that's still the case.

Eric Murphy found love on set! Kevin Connolly is dating his Entourage costar Sabina Gadecki, sources confirm to Us Weekly. A source close to the actor, 41, tells Us that the two started dating "while making the movie." In the film, Gadecki portrays a new love interest of Murphy's. Gadecki, 31, opened up to Us Weekly about joining the star-studded cast, which includes Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Jeremy Piven, Jerry Ferrera, and Kevin Dillon. You either love Entourage or you hate Entourage. It doesn't seem like there's an inbetween, and Wendy Molyneux Drake hates Entourage. Aside from pediatric cancer, it's the thing she hates most in the world. (Her words, not ours!) But she's willing to set aside her intense disdain for the movie version of the HBO series for a good cause. Drake, who's a writer for the show Bob's Burgers, started a GoFundMe campaign that gives us all the power to force her to go see the Entourage movie. All you have to do is donate money. If Drake reaches her goal of $10,000, then she'll bite her tongue and purchase a movie ticket. As an added incentive, all the money donated will go to CureSearch, a nonprofit dedicated to children's cancer research. So support cancer research and force someone who really hates Vincent Chase, Ari Gold, Eric Murphy, Turtle and Johnny "Drama...

We have got to the bottom of Piers Morgan's, some may say, bizarre cameo in the Entourage movie.
The broadcaster will bring the audience up to speed on what has happened to the gang since we last saw them when the show wrapped in 2011.
The film will pick up seven or eight months on from the end of the TV series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Morgan will be seen reporting on a piece about Vinny Chase (Adrien Grenier) and his career - filling in the blanks for viewers who may not have seen the TV show.
Kevin Connolly, who plays Eric Murphy, said: "I'd met Piers Morgan a few times and he always told me that he was a big fan of the show. I asked him a few questions to see if he was bulls**tting me or not... He's seen every episode."

Jeremy Piven was on set of the highly anticipated Entourage film in West Hollywood on Tuesday, with Irish-born actor Liam Neeson.

Piven, who plays agent to the stars Ari Gold on the erstwhile HBO hit, was decked out as his character in a blue suit with a double-breasted vest. Rocking dark-tinted lenses, he sat behind the wheel of a red Ferrari convertible.
In what’s likely a cameo role, Neeson strolled around the set in a casual outfit of light khakis and a navy t-shirt under a blazer. In a fancy convertible of his own, he pulled up alongside Ari and flipped him the bird.
When production on the Entourage movie stalled last year, fans worried that the TV show, which ended in 2011, wouldn’t make it to the big screen. Mark Wahlberg, who produced the show that’s based on some of...

Despite reports to the contrary, the upcoming big-screen version of “Entourage” wasn’t held up by salary negotiations, Kevin Connolly — who plays Eric Murphy on the series and in the movie — told TheWrap on Wednesday. “The funny thing about that is, we were always shooting the movie in January,” Connolly, who begins shooting the film Jan. 16 in Miami, told TheWrap. “The movie was never held up by salary negotiations. See, that’s the thing; people feel like salary negotiations held up the movie … I was not available. Neither was Jeremy Piven. We were both doing our shows.” Also read:...

The Entourage movie will happen, according to actor Kevin Connolly.
The film version of the HBO series has been subject to apparently tough contract issues and producer Mark Wahlberg last week said the actors should "stop being so greedy".
However, Connolly, who played Vincent Chase's (Adrian Grenier) manager and best friend Eric Murphy, has now insisted that the movie is "gonna happen" and production will begin as early as January 2014.
"It's gonna happen. It's a complicated thing, but I'm in," he told TMZ.
Asked about the rumours certain cast members were looking to negotiate bigger deals to star in the project, Connolly revealed: "No, everybody's in line. It's gonna be good... January, we're gonna do it. It's not official, but it will be."
Entourage came to an end on HBO in 2011, before a movie follow-up was announced in January 2012.
Wahlberg said in January that he was hoping for an April or May 2014 release.

The one-off. The television landscape is littered with them. Joyce DeWitt in "Three's Company. Jerry Mathers from "Leave it to Beaver." Half the cast of "Law & Order." Fred Savage, Danica McKellar, Jason Hervy, and Josh Saviano in "The Wonder Years." Jason Alexander and Michael Richards in "Seinfeld." Mr. Cooper in "Hanging with Mr. Cooper." Screech, Theo Huxtable, and Marshall Flinkman from "Alias." Sometimes, you're so good at a character that you're stuck with the identity for the rest of your career because you're not quite good enough to play another character.

(Season 7, Episode 8) Look out Hollywood, Eric Murphy is raging like a pint-sized Hulk!
He's just learned that his best pal and client Vincent Chase has been doing cocaine -- thanks to the suddenly reformed Billy Walsh -- and he's out for blood. He tells off Scott Lavin, Vince's coke buddy, then he takes down Phil Yagoda over Drama's animated series -- more on that later. He finally confronts Vince, who is naked in the pool again with porn star Sasha Grey.
Is this getting to be a habit? Well, er, yes it is. Vince, who is relatively sober, pushes back, saying he's done coke before and he's a professional once the cameras are rolling. Also, he wants Eric to apologize to Scott and get Sasha a part in 'Air-Walker.'

Episode Title: "Sniff Sniff Gang Bang"
Written By: Doug Ellin & Ally Musika
Story: Plans for an animated series starring the voice of Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) catch a network's interest, but Drama himself isn't sold on the pitch. Following the public revelation of his infamously vulgar rants, Ari (Jeremy Piven) attempts an attitude makeover. Meanwhile, Vince (Adrien Grenier) has to convince his girlfriend Sasha Grey to turn down an alluring porn gig all while convincing studio executives — and Eric (Kevin Connolly) — that he's not on drugs.
No More Mister Nice Guy: When Vince first accepted Eric as his official manager, he warned his lifelong pal that the job could test the limits of their friendship — and in recent episodes of "Entourage," that conversation has come back around in a big way.
Eric is absolutely right in suggesting that Vince is on a free fall thanks to his recent self-destructive behavior.

Entourage is a series based on a whole lot of manufactured, pointless drama, but “Buzzed” might have topped all the insanity before it because Ari, E and all sorts of people are up in arms over…Vince cutting his hair. Yep, Vince cutting his hair.
Not only is the Hairgate a completely and totally stupid thing to build a plot around, but it the whole episode was built around a random notion that Vince may or may not have taken some pain meds. He didn’t, then did. He didn’t lie, then he didn’t. I mean Vince never has much going on mentally, so I always just assume he’s at least partially high. So to give him some sort of weird rush of energy because he took a few pain meds seems pretty dumb, even for Entourage.

Full disclosure: I hate Entourage. The series rose to heights right when I was perfectly in the demographic wheelhouse, so in seasons one, two and three, I thought it was great. And maybe it was.* I also tore through those seasons quickly on DVD so it didn’t seem anything but a fun few hours with some guys who liked to have a good time. Also: I was 17-years old.
*It wasn’t.
Ever since the first half of season three when Vince fired Ari, the series has been going downhill in my — and nearly everyone else with a critical voice — opinion. I somehow made it through everything up to season five and the first few episodes of last season and finally gave up. I could take Drama’s nonsense, Turtle’s pointlessness and Vince’s aimlessness, but I was no longer going to deal with Eric’s crap.

Kevin Connolly switched places for a day, becoming the director of an "Entourage" episode. The photos taken from the set have emerged, showing the actor who plays Eric Murphy, directing his co-star Jeremy Piven both inside and outside Domenico Vacca store on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills Tuesday, June 22.
A set report from PopEater said that Connolly is a tough director. He made the cast re-shoot several scenes "even though everyone thought the first few takes were great". Described as "an extreme perfectionist," Connolly reportedly made everyone "annoyed" because the shoot had never taken that long.
Sharing a scene with Piven was guest star Queen Latifah whose role is still a question mark. Tobey Maguire and cast Jerry Ferrara also stopped by on the set although they were not featured in any of the scenes.

Filmmakers Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist spoke with BuzzFocus at The Two Escobars premiere screening after party, hosted by American Apothecary. The Zimbalists had just learned that their film was selected to be in this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The Two Escobars contrasts the diverse lives of Pablo Escobar, the infamous head of the Medallin Cartel, and Andres Escobar, the soccer player who was gunned down after he scored a goal against his own team in the 1994 World Cup. Pop culture has long been infatuated with the life of Pablo Escobar. From music to television, Pablo’s exploits have become legend. TV shows like Entourage, where Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and Eric Murphy (Kevin Connolly) traveled to Columbia to make the film Medallin, hardly bring to life the truths of Pablo’s societal impact. By contrast, few still remember the tragic story of Andres. The Two Escobars is a...

When Kevin Connolly was a struggling actor, his female entourage numbered one: Nicky Hilton. "Here's what I always respected about Nicky: Before Entourage I was living in a one-bedroom apartment – a broke kid from Long Island – and we got together when I had nothing to offer her," Connolly tells the October issue of Playboy. That was then. As for now, says Connolly, 34, "We're still friends, and we still hang in the same circles. But the paparazzi aren't hanging out in front of my house anymore.
