- My dad really was a good man. He was a good guy and a smart guy who did stupid things. And he lived to regret them. But eventually he even gave up the regrets. It was like, well, it's water under the bridge. He had a definite belief in God and that's how he lived his later life.
- I'm old enough and mature enough to realize my dad had his faults. don't get me wrong, I loved my dad dearly, but he was human like everybody else. I went through a period in my own life, in my late 20s and early 30s, where I was kind of an 'angry young man' type; I tended to look for slights everywhere, and it wasn't difficult to piss me off. But I don't think that way any more and, like my dad, I've mellowed a lot over the years. That's what life's all about.
