He represented the third generation of a remarkable dynasty that has made its mark in the cinema and television world. He was been active for over forty years in cinema and television production before his retirement to Provence, France in 2004.
His father was the film director and cinematographer
Ronald Neame who co-produced and co-wrote
Brief Encounter (1945) and
Great Expectations (1946) for
David Lean. His grandparents were the photographer and silent film director
Elwin Neame and the film actress
Ivy Close. His children included the television producer
