Episode 4 of The Voice‘s Season 4 Blind Auditions reminded me of one of those John Denver Am radio hits that provided the soundtrack to my grade-school years: “Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.”
That lyric definitely applies to the tryout rounds for NBC’s smash-hit singing competition: Sometimes the potential talent is staggering, and sometimes the proceedings feel all too pedestrian.
Tonight’s installment, alas, fell into the latter category. With only one contestant proving she might be on par with last week’s buzz-worthy vocalists, the whole hour fell into a predictable pattern of Carson Daly voiceovers...

As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.
Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. Take Dawson's Creek, for example. Its theme song (and our favorite show song to date) put singer Paula Cole on the map. It also also continues to remind fans everywhere of Pacey, Joey and Dawson when the song comes on the radio. You know, the good ole' days when the kids just walked on the beach, not arguing just yet about a love triangle or who's going to...

It hurts me to even imply there's something that might not be perfect about this movie I love so much, but if I'm being honest, without Edwyn Collins, The Cranberries and Dire Straits (not to mention my beloved Toad the Wet Sprocket), this movie is just a lot of whiny teenagers and some quarters glued to the floor (though I'd love it dearly stll--i don't feel that I need to explain my art to you, Warren). I made special effort to disclude movies that would be absolutely nothing without their soundtracks (Singles, The Harder They Come) and this didn't fall in that realm for me, but even I, ardent lover I am, have to admit the soundtrack weighs more heavily on the scale than content.
6. Lost in Translation
I'm sorry. I know this to be one of the most divisive movies in 'jibaland. But dear Christ did it pretentch me into nothingness.

Police were called to the set of KT Tunstall's latest video shoot after the production descended into chaos and ended in a bar fight. The Scottish rocker headed to Nashville, Tennessee to film the promo for "Still a Weirdo", which is set for release in the U.K. in September.
But Tunstall's plans for the video were thrown into turmoil when she involved a local bar owner. She explains, "It was an amazing place. It was hard going because it was over 100 degrees. The bar owner called everyone who drank there to come down to be part of the video. There was a fight, an arrest and somebody crashed their car into a lamp post by 3 P.M."
In another news, KT Tunstall has admitted that she wants a baby. The rocker is eager to fall pregnant and complete her family - but insists she would carry on touring if she had a baby.
