Two “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” participants claim they did not know the docuseries was being made for Investigation Discovery, and said they would not have agreed to interviews if they did.
“I’m not too familiar with ID, but for the interview I sat down for, it was not an appropriate network for the show,” former “The Amanda Show” actress Raquel Lee Bolleau told IndieWire. “I had no clue it was on [ID] until one or two weeks before it aired.”
“I didn’t even know what ID was honestly,” ex-“Zoey 101” cast member Alexa Nikolas told IndieWire. “When I looked it up, my first thought was our stories and the conversation that deserves to be had around them are way bigger than ID and deserve a more credible platform. A more serious one.”

There were a few unanswered questions in the wake of the Quiet On Set docuseries release.
Viewers wanted to understand the dynamic between Drake Bell and Dan Schneider. Bell's description of Schneider differed from the picture painted by everyone else interviewed.
Folks also wondered if any of the celebrities who backed Bryan Peck had spoken out since the series shed light on their support.
The latest episode of Investigation Discovery's Quiet On Set is a departure from the original four. This time, it's a less dramatic setting.
The episode features noted reporter Soledad O'Brien as she chats first with Drake Bell virtually and then in-studio with Giovonnie Samuels, Bryan Hearne, Tracey Brown, and Shane Lyons.
While the new episode didn't reveal anything quite as shocking as previous installments, it provided some clarity on a few things that were already addressed.

Investigation Discovery has a history of producing sensationalized sequels to popular docuseries — just look at the 11th-hour reveal in The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks — but Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence defies that trend. Moderated by Soledad O'Brien, the fifth episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is less concerned with making new headlines than reflecting on the harrowing allegations raised in the four-part documentary, which has been watched by over 20 million people and become a cultural phenomenon since it premiered in mid-March.

“Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence” featured a new interview with “All That” cast members Giovannie Samuels and Bryan Hearne. The pair, who also participated in the first four episodes of the ID docuseries, returned to sit down with host Soledad O’Brien and talk about the series and Dan Schneider’s post-documentary interview.
“The thing about his interview as a whole, I thought it was funny. If I could be candid, Dan was an actor before all of this,” said Hearne, who appeared on Seasons 7 and 8 of “All That.” “I think that he brushed off some chops and gave us a nice performance. Where was all of this apologizing when Jennette McCurdy’s book came out?”
He continued, “I just feel that, what’s an apology without accountability? Realistically, if you take the inappropriate jokes away, do you have a show anymore? If you take all the foot jokes, take all the face shots,...

Drake Bell returned to share more of his harrowing truth in Sunday night’s new bonus episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, titled Breaking the Silence. In it, the former child star reacted to the success of the ID docuseries, which has reached an audience of millions and rocked the entertainment world with its shocking revelations of abuse, assault, and racism on the sets of some of Nickelodeon’s biggest hits. He also had an opportunity to discuss some of the resulting comments that have flowed in regarding his deeply upsetting account of being sexually assaulted by his former acting coach, Brian Peck — particularly by those who publicly supported the ultimately convicted child molester during his trial. In the new interview with journalist and host Soledad O’Brien, Bell was presented with audio comments made by Boy Meets World star Will Friedle, who was one of...

Drake Bell is continuing to tell his story in the latest episode of ID’s “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” documentary. Titled “Breaking the Silence,” the fifth episode, which aired on Sunday, April 7, began with Bell speaking to host Soledad O’Brien about what has happened since he came forward for the first time about being sexually assaulted by Brian Peck.
O’Brien specifically asked Bell, who spoke virtually from Mexico City, about Will Friedle and Rider Strong, two of the actors who wrote character letters for Peck in the 2003 case. The duo spoke about the decision to do so on their podcast, but hearing their comments didn’t change how Bell felt about that day in court, he said.

The bonus episode, hosted by Soledad O’Brien, delves deeper into the claims surrounding Dan Schneider and the Nickelodeon series he created and ran. The harrowing docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV has shed a light on the abuse and mistreatment suffered by many child stars working for Nickelodeon, specifically those on shows run by Dan Schneider, the producer of All That and The Amanda Show.

New ‘Quiet on Set’ Clip: ‘All That’ Stars Reunite for a Rare Moment of Joy Beyond the Trauma (Video)
Investigation Discovery has released a new sneak peek of Sunday’s bonus episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, and, perhaps surprisingly, it features a much lighter moment than what audiences may be used to with this gutting docuseries. In the clip from Quiet on the Set: Breaking the Silence, host Soledad O’Brien brings together All That alums Giovonnie Samuels and Bryan Hearne, who previously participated in the docuseries, to see their former costar Shane Lyons, who brings a new testimony to the story in the standalone episode. Their reunion, despite the circumstances, is a joyous occasion. “These are the people I grew up with. These are my brothers,” Samuels says with a smile in the clip. “We have this special connection with each other. And even if we don’t see each other every day, it’s like we pick up where we left off.

The horrifying new Investigation Discovery docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" will release an additional episode in early April, according to Variety. The series' first four episodes dropped on ID and Max less than two weeks ago, but have already been viewed by an audience of 16 million people, per the outlet. "Quiet on Set" includes interviews with former Nick stars and others who witnessed the reportedly toxic work environments on Nickelodeon shows dating back to the network's early days. Prolific producer Dan Schneider (who was an unnamed but sinister figure in Jennette McCurdy's 2022 memoir "I'm Glad My Mom Died") is at the center of the show's conversations about sexism and mistreatment. Depending on whom you ask, Don Lemon is planting his feet firmly in media’s next frontier. Or its last one.
The former CNN star anchor is the latest in a parade of onetime TV-news personnel to dip their toes into the entrepreneurial waters of digital and social media. He announced in early January that he would launch “The Don Lemon Show” on X, part of a bid to build a broader media outlet. “Don is extremely passionate about launching his own media company,” says Oren Rosenbaum, partner and head of audio at UTA, which represented Lemon in his deal with the social-media giant. “His first priority is the show, and as that becomes more and more successful, he will build a business around that and become a platform for other voices.”
Lemon isn’t alone. Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News opinion host, is using X for similar goals.

That he transitioned from his portrayal of Archie Bunker's liberal son-in-law, contemptuously dubbed "Meathead," on "All in the Family" to being a first-rate director shouldn't have come as a surprise. His father, Carl Reiner, was one of the greatest comedy writers of the 20th century. No one is a preordained success, but if you decide to pursue a career in entertainment coming out of that environment, you at least have a rock-solid notion of what works.
Reiner also, thanks to his father, developed a social conscience. As he knocked out his string of hit films, he established himself as one of Hollywood's most outspoken celebrities.
