Preacher’s second season, airing weekly on Amazon at the moment, has really taken the show to new heights with some great character beats, more frenetic fight sequences and some startling revelations to boot. As the show’s titular character Jesse Custer, Dominic Cooper has been at the heart of it all. Adapted from the wildly popular series of 90s comics, Preacher is gaining acclaim for adopting the wild, renegade humour of the comic books whilst being unafraid to depart significantly from many of the source material’s plotlines. Last night, Samantha Bee dedicated a portion of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee to explaining what's happening in the U.K. and to lay into the countries who voted to leave the E.U. ("Screwing over the rest of the world by voting stupidly? That's our job!") It's a good follow-up to John Oliver's Brexit segment, combining laughs with intelligence. Oh, and a little appearance from David Tennant. Bee also touched upon Trump's misinformed Brexit remarks (and warned the U.S. not to make the similar voting mistakes come November) about Scotland which prompted loads of responses from Scotland residents. To get the full effect of the creative insults, Doctor Who's David Tennant read them in his Scottish brogue. You can watch it below.

If you thought you had already seen the brunt of Donald Trump putdowns following his recent “Brexit”-related flub, just wait until you see David Tennant (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) read aloud a series of mean tweets with brogue-filled gusto.

Russell Tovey has joined the cast of the HBO drama Looking, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Tovey will have a recurring role in HBO’s upcoming drama about gay men living in San Francisco, as a man who works with Jonathan Groff‘s character.
Waking up naked in Golden Gate Park would be welcome, hunting like a predator, not so much.
TVLine reports that Fox is developing a drama based on Jonathan Kellerman‘s novels about a “crime-solving psychologist, who joins forces with a closeted gay Lapd detective”. Anyone familiar with Kellerman’s work? Should we be excited about this?
Is FX’s The Bridge a show that has succeeded by being the anti-Killing? By focusing beyond the murder mystery and bringing the characters and setting to life, Time argues that the FX drama has learned some important lessons from AMC’s critical-darling-turned-critical-pariah.
