Latino WGA members and their allies descended upon Universal Studios en masse Monday beginning at 5 a.m. to picket on the seventh day of the Hollywood writers strike.
The early arrival for some came as picketers wanted to be visible to trucks attempting to enter through the studio’s gates. Several picket lines in Los Angeles and New York have turned trucks away since contract talks broke off May 1 between the writers and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
The WGA West’s Latinx Writers Committee organized today’s action, which at its height grew to about 300 picketers in Universal City, marching across Lankershim Boulevard from the main gates of the studio to Telemundo and back.

Exclusive: Gore Abrams has been cast as a series regular opposite Christian Serratos and Ana Ortiz in the HBO Max drama pilot More, from Amy Chozick, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Written by journalist Chozick inspired by her reporting, More follows the Lorenz family, a tight-knit clan of seemingly flawless Latinas led by mom/mastermind Leona (Ortiz). The Lorenzes are the Vanderbilts or the Astors of the Instagram era. Drawing some parallels to the Kardashians and their “momager” Kris Jenner, the Lorenzes pulled their way up from debt and obscurity to reality TV stardom and forged a billion-dollar mega-conglomerate not from oil or steel but from something more elusive and modern: influence.
Abrams plays Steve Wilson, the sound tech with a heart of gold, who works on the camera crew that follows Londyn (Serratos) and her family everywhere for their hit reality TV show.
Chozick and Natalie Chaidez serve as executive producers and co-showrunners.

Eva Longoria's "Devious Maids" stirred up the Latinx community when it premiered nearly a decade ago. Here was this big, English-language cable show starring five Latinas but as the title reveals, they were all maids. So, did the Lifetime series replicate or challenge the stereotype that Latinas exist solely to serve better-off, Anglo families? The community hotly debated the show before it even came out, sounding off in the popular press and elsewhere.
"When you looked at the promotional materials that Lifetime put out for 'Devious Maids,' the actresses playing those roles were very sexualized in terms of their dress and in terms of their posture . . . And then also the maid again - why do we want to reify that?"
"It was largely dismissed for two reasons: the promotional materials and also the name of the show itself," says Dr. Jillain Báez, Associate Professor in the department of Africana,...

Ortiz, who will star alongside Christian Serratos, replaces Veronica Falcón who was originally tapped for the role. The recasting decision was made after the table read, I hear.

We never know which films to cover since there are so many channels so please note that we welcome comments and requests for more in-depth coverage of new-to-streaming titles.
Okay, time for this month's streaming roulette. You know the rules. We highlight new-to-streaming movies and an occasional TV series by freezing them on the scroll bar at entirely random places and just sharing what pops up. No cheating*!
Okay, we're going to have a nice Calm talk like we discussed, right?
Love, Victor (Season 3) on Hulu
Sad this show is ending but also relieved since so few high school shows wrap up at their natural ending point (senior year) before they've overstayed their welcome. Have you started watching the final season yet? Ana Ortiz (who is completely Emmy worthy for season 2) and James Martinez as Victor's parents are both so terrific and not at all the afterthoughts parents so often are in teen soaps.

“Love, Victor” will return in its Pride month tradition for a third and final season this June, described as “one last chance to feel the love.” The first season of the “Love, Simon” (2018) spinoff debuted in the summer of 2020, providing a bright spot amidst a lot of historical turmoil. Season 2 followed in the summer of 2021 with 10 packed episodes that introduced some new characters, relationships and obstacles for the Creekwood crew.
We left off with Victor choosing between Benji (George Sear) and Rahim (Anthony Keyvan) at the end of Season 2 after Mia’s dad’s wedding to Veronica (Sophia Bush). Other connections fizzled out for new ones to form, and several threads were left untied.
Fans of Becky Albertali’s original book “Simons vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda,” the 2018 movie adaptation “Love, Simon” or of the latest spinoff series may be wondering how to watch “Love, Victor,” and there are some updated options.

Victor (Michael Cimino) just wants to start over — just as the end is near.
The third and final season of “Love, Victor” premieres June 15 on Hulu and, this time, also on Disney+ as the streamer expands its older-skewing offerings. Season 2 left off with Victor’s love triangle heating up between his first love Benji (George Sear) and new student Rahim (Anthony Kevyan), who recently came out to his Muslim family after receiving advice from Victor.
As graduation looms and Victor tries to determine who he wants to (re)start a relationship with, the high school senior hopes to just “go back to that perfect moment” of falling in love for the first time.
“A lot of the time, the scariest things are also the most important, like admitting who you love or who you are,” Victor says in the trailer.

After three seasons, we've reached the end of Love, Victor.
Hulu on Friday unveiled the trailer for Love, Victor Season 3, and it teases some resolution.
The second season wrapped on a thrilling cliffhanger as Victor was forced to choose between Benji and Rahim.
“Are you sure nothing’s going on with you and Rahim?” Benji asks in the trailer.
"There was something between us. I thought we were friends, and things got confused," Victor responds.
However, Benji appears to want to sort out his problems on his own, and we see him packing a car.
Is the end in sight for the prominent couple on the hit dramedy?
"Did I ever tell you about the first time that I saw you?" Victor asks Benji in the same scene, seemingly confirming that something did happen.

The trailer for Season 3, which you can watch above, begins by finally giving some answers about who Victor (Michael Cimino) chose at the end of the previous season. If you remember, the previous season of Hulu’s young-adult drama ended with Victor standing outside the door of one of his two love interests.
The scene fades to black before we find out if he went to profess his love to Benji (George Sear) or Rahim (Anthony Keyvan), but now the new trailer reveals that it was, in fact, Benji.
“Are you sure nothing’s going on between you and Rahim?” Benji asks as the two sit outside after the school dance. Victor admits: “There was something between us. I thought we were friends, and things got confusing.”

The upcoming third season of the teen coming-of-age drama, will be available on Disney+ and Hulu beginning June 15, along with Seasons 1 and 2, a source with knowledge of the move confirmed to TheWrap.

With its second season out on April 29, Amazon's "Undone" is back following Rosa Salazar's Alma as she time travels, addresses her own inadequacies, and tries to heal her family. Ellin has recruited Charlie Sheen and several of his “Entourage” stars — including Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon — to play themselves in “Ramble On,” a scripted dramatic comedy about established stars looking for career reinvention, alongside aspiring performers looking to make their own name.

The upcoming third season will be the last for Love, Victor, Hulu has confirmed. All eight episodes of the YA teen comedy series’ final season will premiere June 15 on the streamer. The news was revealed by Hulu as part of its TCA presentation Tuesday.
Following the events of the film Love, Simon, Love, Victor tells the story of Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) – a new student at Creekwood High who has just moved with his family from rural Texas to Atlanta. On top of all the usual high school pressures of making friends and fitting in, Victor is still figuring out his sexuality – a tricky subject in his religious family. Reaching out to Simon for advice, Victor slowly but surely learns to be his authentic self and to trust the message from the film – that everyone deserves a great love story.

Hulu’s “Love, Victor” is coming to an end with its upcoming third season. The final season of the series will premiere on June 15.
“Love, Victor” is inspired by the world of “Love, Simon,” a 2018 book-to-screen adaptation of Becky Albertalli’s YA novel “Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.”
Season 1 originally premiered June 17, 2020, followed by Season 2 a year later. The series stars Michael Cimino as its titular character and also sees Nick Robinson reprise his role as Simon from the movie.

In Season 2, Victor dealt with the aftermath of coming out to his family and friends, while exploring his new love life with boyfriend Benji (played...
