548 Days: Abducted Online is a Spanish series directed by Olmo Figueredo González-Quevedo and José Ortuño.
Young Patricia Aguilar disappears, leaving her family devastated. Weeks of anguish ensue until they regain hope when Patricia shows signs of life, but she speaks and acts strangely, as if controlled by someone else. They soon discover that she has gone to Peru, seduced by the guru of a sect, and begin the struggle to get her back, even though Patricia resists. Taking the viewpoint of the protagonists, this story is a tale of a family overcoming tragedy.

Not since Madonna got on her knees in the “Like a Prayer” video in 1989 has anyone been as horny for a saint as the heroine of Mamacruz, a housewife in her 70s who undergoes a sexual reawakening partly inspired by the holy images she, as part of her work as a seamstress, undresses and caresses on a regular basis. No one has Cruz’s (Kiti Mánver) touch when it comes to working with antique lace and fabric, the likes of which she has never worn herself, but mends and polishes so that holy statues in her church continue to dazzle.

Barcelona-based sales agent Filmax has acquired international rights to Venezuelan director Patricia Ortega’s comedy “Mamacruz,” which competes in World Cinema Dramatic at the Sundance Festival, which kicks off Jan. 19.
The film is produced in Spain by Olmo Figueredo González-Quevedo at La Claqueta and José Alba at Pecado Films, in co-production with Venezuela’s Mandrágora Films. Sara Gómez and Odile Antonio-Baez executive produced.
Toplining Kiti Mánver (“Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown”), “Mamacruz” follows a grandma who accidentally stumbles across some pornographic images on her granddaughter’s tablet, leading her to rediscover her long-forgotten sexuality and desire.
The coming-of-old-age story, co-written by Ortega and José Ortuño, pays tribute to those women who decide to take the reins of their own destiny.

European Film Promotion’s networking program Producers on the Move will take place as a digital edition on its original dates – from May 11 to 15 – and independently of the Cannes Film Festival, which has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Twenty up-and-coming European producers will meet online and present their projects in speed meetings and roundtable sessions. A case study as well as talks with experts will round out the program.
