The title refers to the all girl punk rock band PussyCake, singer Elle, Sara (Aldana Ruberto), who is the drummer and Elle’s girlfriend, bassist Sofi and guitarist Juli (Sofía Rossi). There’s also their manager Pato (Flor Moreno; The Talking Guts) who is hoping to hook up with Simón at the band’s upcoming gig, a record company showcase no less.

The festival — China’s most prestigious — was due to kick off later this month. Organizers said: “Given the Covid-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee of Shanghai International Film Festival (Siff) has decided that the 25th Siff, originally scheduled to take place in June 2022, will be postponed to next year. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere apologies to people in all sectors of society who care about and support Siff. If possible, we will plan and hold film exhibitions and themed events in the second half of this year to share the joy brought by cinematic art and film activities.”

Raven Banner will present select clips to buyers at the market on the project, which is in post and is also being produced by Cameron Burns, Ashleigh Snead, Alex Euting and Shawn Talley for Paper Street. The showcase includes three screenings sponsored by three of the world’s leading genre festivals: the U.K.’s Fright Fest, Mexico’s Morbido Fest and the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.
Additionally, the Upcoming Fantastic Films section for Ibero-American works in progress facilitates representatives from eight nearly-finished films to screen clips and pitch to buyers, sales agents and representatives from other festivals from around the world. This year eight works in progress will present, up from seven last year.
