- James S. Pluta is known for Mick Fleetwood & Friends Celebrate the Music of Peter Green (2021), K.D. Lang Live from the Majestic Theatre (2018) and Bob's Video (2000).
- Began career working for Propaganda Films as a last minute hire intern on Alyssa Milano's "Teen Steam" in 1988. Before that, he attended three different film schools studying film theory, analysis & criticism, film as art, and camera and lighting before seeking work in the industry. Once he had a foot in the door of the industry, he worked his way through virtually all jobs in film production and now works as a Producer, and Technical Director.
Over the span of his career James has worked with directors such as David Fincher, Mark Romanek, Dominic Sena, Mark Pellington, Martyn Atkins, Frank Coraci, Kevin Donovan and Doug Pray on music videos, commercials and documentaries. In 1999 partnered up with director Martyn Atkins and together have worked with artists the likes of, Johnny Cash, Seal, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Cream, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, John Fogerty, The Eagles, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton,and Steve Winwood.
In 2008 James was awarded a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class for his role in producing the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival which aired on PBS, directed by Martyn Atkins.
James is finishing up work on the "Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden" concerts film shot in 2008.
