Enjoy this one folks, because it'll probably be the only time we'll ever get a taste of what 'Superman' would look like in the hands of Disney. Created by Rob Pratt, who was a Disney animator on films like 'Pocahontas,' 'Fantasia 2000,' 'Hercules' and 'Tarzan,' 'Superman Classic' is a fun little one-minute short that totally feels like a throwback to vintage Superman.
If you stick around till after the short, Rob comes on to talk a little bit about his inspiration for the project. "I've always loved the music from the Saturday matinee serial, and I figured a short that was animated to this music could be a really cool piece. I designed the character mixing all the traits from my favorite Superman actors from the past, and then looked at the work of Hugh Ferriss for inspiration on the background design.

Still got a passion for traditional animation? Fortunately you're not the only one. Disney animator Rob Pratt (Tarzan, Pocahontas) put together his own little piece as a love letter to the old Superman serials, adding his own flair to the Man of Steel. Pratt talks about his inspiration and shows a look behind the scenes (and a surprise voice actor) after the very cool short. Dig it.
