Betty Rea was born on July 18, 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was a casting director, known for Guiding Light (1952), Another World (1964) and As the World Turns (1956). She was married to Oliver Rea. She died on December 23, 1999 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
She was awarded the Silver Circle Award in 1995 for Excellence in New
York Television for her services to daytime dramas, Guiding Light and
As The World Turns.
She was the first casting director to be awarded the Soap Opera Digest
Editor's Award for her services to Guiding Light in 1995.
She graduated acting from New York City's Neighborhood Playhouse.
Played the third woman in the Dame Judith Anderson production of Medea
in 1948 New York City on Broadway.
