Disney is well-known for its sea of Christmas releases. Dive into the magic of the season with these wholesome ones ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Disney is known for taking Christmas time very seriously. They go all out with their Christmas special releases and their Holiday-themed movies, and all of them end up being very well-received by the public. This is understandable because Christmas is already a magical time, but add a little Disney fairy dust and a wish upon a star in there, and you have yourself the most magical holiday ever.
Here are five of the best Disney Christmas movies to enjoy with your family and add a touch of that magic to the holiday season.

"Lady and the Tramp" is by no means one of Disney's greatest films, but the time and effort it took to bring this story to the screen for nearly two decades make it a worthy addition to their original roster. Although it has aged rather poorly in terms of distasteful stereotypes concerning the Siamese cats, the one area that holds up spectacularly well is in its animation. The 1955 feature was the first film to be fully animated for Cinemascope, as the widescreen format was gaining plenty of momentum around that time, so of course, the breathtaking vistas of this early 20th-century midwestern town still look so beautiful.
If there were only one scene that solidifies the film's legacy, however, it has to be none other than the spaghetti dinner date where Tramp (Larry Roberts) and Lady (Barbara Luddy) share their first tender moment together. Even if you've never seen "Lady and the Tramp,...

It’s always fun to peruse the impressive career of writer-director Michael Crichton, whose brilliant, commercially savvy ideas so often hit the mark. He even invented a plausibly credible dinosaur movie. This 1981 thriller may be his least coherent show, with too many screwy ideas and a supporting cast that needed better direction. Yet it has the winning combination of Albert Finney and Susan Dey, and some very original thriller elements.

[Spoiler Alert] Alone season five was a brutal one set in the northern part of Mongolia. The season was comprised of former contestants from the first three seasons of the show who were placed in the Khonin Nuga valley in northern Mongolia. The History endurance series is a fan favorite and one of ours. We loved seeing the season five winner Sam Larson express his love for his wife and family on his Facebook page. Sam also gave shout-outs to runner-ups Britt Ahart and Larry Roberts for this chilly run of Alone. As fans know it was Sam who took […]

As Disney keeps digging into its fairytale archives, yet another age-old classic is being brought to life:1955’s Lady And The Tramp.
Following in the footsteps of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, the tale of Lady, a female Cocker Spaniel who falls in love with the Tramp, a stray, will be adapted into a live-action and CG hybrid, directed by The Lego Ninjago Movie’s Charlie Bean, with quite the exciting cast and some tweaked character developments.

On Thursday night’s second episode of Alone, nine survivalists remain in Mongolia as they quickly find out they are not the only predators on the prowl for food. In our exclusive teaser clip, Larry Roberts’ camp is surrounded by wolves, while Dave Nessia is shown pumped and ready to kill something to eat. Which is good, because if you remember in the Patagonia season, Dave wasted away to a skeleton and the lack of food and calories was the reason that the decision was made off camera to remove him from his camp. The Season 5 premiere last week introduced us […]

The 1950s was an interesting era for Walt Disney as they moved further away from movies with humans as the protagonist to ones featuring anthropomorphic animals. Although work had begun a decade earlier, 1955’s Lady and the Tramp is one example and one of the more charming stories, if lacking in the wonder of earlier efforts.
We’re given the chance to revisit this now that Disney has made it their latest Signature Collection release, offering it in a Multi-Screen Edition (we used to call them Combo Packs so you get the Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD code).
You mention Lady and the Tramp and the iconic image of the two dogs sharing a romantic spaghetti dinner springs to mind, usually accompanied with snatches of the memorable soundtrack. The story is an old one, opposites attract as you can tell by the character names of Lady (Barbara Luddy) and Tramp...

Since its release 60 years ago this week (on June 22, 1955), "Lady and the Tramp" has been not just one of the most beloved Disney animated features ever made, but also one of the great romances in screen history.
Still, as often as you've seen it, there's still plenty you may not know about how the canine classic came to be, So grab a plate of spaghetti and meatballs and chow down on 19 of "Lady"'s behind-the-scenes dish.
1. It took nearly 20 years to get the film made. The main character originated in sketches made by Disney animator Joe Grant in 1937, based on his own spaniel, whose name was Lady. Grant envisioned a short cartoon about a dog who's puzzled by the arrival of his masters' newborn baby.
2. By 1940, Walt Disney had imagined expanding the short into a feature and adding a dog-hating housesitter, two mischievous Siamese cats (then named Nip and Tuck), and a suitor for Lady,...

Lady and the Tramp
Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson, Hamilton Luske
Written by Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Ralph Wright, Don DaGradi
Starring Barbara Luddy, Larry Roberts, Verna Felton
Whether you’re a Disney nut like me, a film buff, an animation buff, or just interested in 20th-century Americana, you’d do well to read Neal Gabler’s biography of the late Walt Disney, called Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination. Though it’s an unauthorized work, Gabler had a high amount of access to the official Disney archives, so the book is well-sourced, detailed, and a compelling read. Gabler digs deep into Disney’s childhood, the tough times he had as an animator and businessman before creating Mickey Mouse, one of the truly seminal icons of American history, as well as the difficulties he faced and sometimes created once he became a household name. And yet, despite...
