Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features just seven matches (thankfully). Anyway, on with the review…
Match #1: Skye Blue def. Mylo
My Thoughts: We haven’t seen Mylo on Aew programming since September last year and unlike that appearance, where she was thoroughly squashed in a tag match against the Renegade Twins, here she manages to play a brilliant heel to Skye Blue’s babyface. And it’s something I’d be happy to see more of, maybe have the duo run this match back in the future?
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Brian Cage def. Bad Dude Tito
My Thoughts: It’s not often Brian Cage gets an opponent of his size and stature or an opponent who can hold his own against him, but that’s exactly what Bad Dude Tito did – even managing to get a 2-count on Cage at one point.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features 11 matches on this week’s show – urghhhh, I’m not a fan of these longer cards, especially given most matches are usually squashes! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Brian Cage def. Schaff
My Thoughts: As this started I thought “here we go, another Brian Cage squash” but that is Not what we got! The crowd in attendance were clearly behind Schaff and so we actually got something of a competitive match, with Cage letting Schaff showcase his stuff for those unfamiliar with his work. In the end that made for a great match!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) def. Bollywood Boyz (Harv and Gurv)
My Thoughts: I’m not going to lie, when it comes to The...

It’s time for this week’s review of Aew: Dark, which emanates from Aew Universal once again and features a mere 6 matches this week… Is that the least we’ve had on an episode of Dark? We’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary so let’s get right to it.
Match #1: Ryan Nemeth def. Chandler Hopkins
My Thoughts: You know what, I’m going to say it now. Nemeth needs a new gimmick, he really does. Everything is not just so off-putting with the “Hollywood Hunk” gimmick that I really hoped he lost to Chandler Hopkins and at one point he nearly did. Which I would’ve been happy to see! Hopkins made this match Imho
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Sonny Kiss def. Jp Harlow
My Thoughts: Too short to be anything effective for either wrestler. I’m worried Sonny Kiss is starting to flounder in the Aew roster,...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dark, which once again comes from Aew Universal in Orlando, Florida. This week’s show is another short one so let’s get right to it.
Match #1: Varsity Blonds def. Marcus Kross & Guillermo Rosas
My Thoughts: Julia Hart and Taz & Excalibur on commentary are Still selling the Malakai Black black mist incident. How long is this going to be stretched out for? It was an interesting change-up for the bright and cheery Hart but now it’s getting stale. Anyway, as for the match, it was solid if nothing remarkable. Kross looked good here – well in terms of wrestling but he had lost the Dbz hair again this week!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: The Wingmen def. Rohit Raju, Karam, Sotheara Chhun, & Caleb Tennity
My Thoughts: This broke down early, as multi-man matches tend to do. However, once the bell...

The issue of the Vietnamese boat people, refugees who fled Vietnam by boat and ship following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, and the subsequent humanitarian crisis their massive exodus resulted, is one of the most shocking and significant events of the previous century, with Ann Hui having already presented their plights masterfully in the homonymous movie. Han Tram presents his take through an approach that follows his protagonists until their arrival to America, where they have to face a whole other set of issues. Han Tram wrote, directed and edited “Journey from the Fall” in an effort that was entirely financed by the Vietnamese American community and was released to sold-out screenings in the country before winning a number of awards in festivals all over the world, including the Grand Jury Prize at the San Diego Asian Film Festival.

[Updating this post with today's news that Phase 4 films have pre-bought all Us rights to the film. It aint made yet but we know who'll be releasing it when it is.]
I declare my bias on this one right up front: Xyz Films - the La company that I'm a partner in - are serving as executive producers on this one and the lead producer - Hawaii International Film Festival programmer Anderson Le - is a long time friend. Do with that what you will. What I do with it is toss it all aside as irrelevant because with the talent attached to this script - which I've read and is fantastic - this is going to be a fantastic film by any measure.
Mma star Cung Le - recently seen on screen fighting Donnie Yen in Hong Kong action drama Bodyguards and Assassins - will take the lead in Journey From The Fall director Ham Tran's English language martial arts film Breaking Point. Producing are Xyz Films, Media 8 Entertainment and Vietnam-based Chanh Phuong Films. For those unfamiliar with the name,...
