The actor Max Ruhbeck was already a busy stage actor from the 80s of the 19th century and his engagements led him to Nuremberg and Hanover among others. In later years he also directed some stage plays time and again.
After 1923 Max Ruhbeck retired from the film business and concentrated to the stage again. There he remained active till to the 30s.
His last cinematical works came in the silent movie era of the 20s.
He appeared in more than ninety films from 1915 to 1923.
Max Ruhbeck already appeared in front of the camera in 1909 for "Dicks Schwester" (1909) but his real film career began 1915. In the next years he impersonated numerous roles.
