- When she was bombed out several times in 1945 she returned to Prague where she died in 1968.
- The actress Lyda Salmonova grew up in Prague where she attended a dancing school.
- When she went to Berlin she went about an acting education and she made her stage debut in 1910 in Berlin. She soon became established on stage in the next years and it also followed performances abroad like in Sweden and Norway.
- As a member of the "Deutsches Theater" of Max Reinhardt she remained active till 1918.
- After 1923 Lyda Salmonova retired from the film business and worked as an acting teacher for the UFA. Later she founded her own acting school called "Schauspielstudio Lyda Wegener".
- From time to time she played at the theater again, the last time at the beginning of the 30s.
- The film business as well spotted her screen presence soon and Lyda Salmonova made her film debut in 1913 with the productions "Die ideale Gattin" (1913) and "Der Student von Prag" (1913) at her husband's side, the legendary Paul Wegener. They got married in the same year, their marriage lasted till 1924.
