Shannen Doherty has signed for a holiday-themed Hallmark Channel original movie.
The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star has been cast in "Growing the Big One," which centers on a woman who inherits her debt-ridden family farm and enters a pumpkin-growing contest in hope of avoiding foreclosure. Along the way, she falls in love with her partner in the contest.
The movie has begun production in Vancouver and will premiere in October 2010.
"Growing" is produced by Gbo Films, with Howard Meltzer ("The Brooke Ellison Story"), Jane Goldenring ("Pizza My Heart") and Ted Bauman ("Pictures of Hollis Woods") executive producing. Mark Griffiths ("Our House") is directing from a script by Diane Mettler and Anna Sandor.

Chandra Wilson has signed on to star in the Hallmark Channel original movie Accidental Friendship.
In the movie, the Grey's Anatomy actress will play a woman who finds herself homeless. Her life looks to be tumbling into an abyss until she unexpectedly crosses paths with a female police officer who helps put her life back on track.
The movie, written by Anna Sandor ("Felicity: An American Girl Adventure"), is set to go into production early next month to premiere sometime in late November or December.
Michael Prupas of Muse Entertainment executive produces.
Wilson has received two Emmy noms for her role as Dr. Bailey on ABC's medical drama. She also has won individual and ensemble SAG Awards for the role.
Wilson is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Station3 Entertainment.

Following the success of Samantha: An American Girl Holiday, the WB Network has reteamed with Revolution Studios and executive producer Julia Roberts for Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, an original movie to star Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden and John Schneider. Set in the days leading up to the American Revolution, Felicity is based on Felicity Merriman, the fourth in the popular line of dolls and books. Samantha director Nadia Tass is back at the helm, directing from a script by Anna Sandor (Showtime's My Louisiana Sky). Like Samantha, Felicity will be produced by Revolution Studios, Roberts' Red Om Films and American Girl in association with Warner Bros. Television. Production is set to begin soon for a fall premiere.
