- He is a relative of Frank Engelhardt and Bernie Clairmont.
- During his heyday at the theater he also appeared in few movies as well like "Friesennot" (1935), "Das Veilchen vom Potsdamer Platz" (19636) and "Nachtwache im Paradies" (1937). After these movies he concentrated again to the theater.
- Only after World War II he appeared again in movies besides his stage engagements.
- Besides his activity as an actor he was also busy as a radio play narrator and writer.
- His dream to become an actor came true when he joined the "Hochschule für Bühnenkunst" in Düsseldorf which he finished in 1927. Afterwards he gained a foothold at the theater in Düsseldorf, later followed engagements in other cities like Vienna, Dortmund and Frankfurt.
