- He was Orson Welles's personal make-up artist on many films, usually uncredited. Welles personally took out full-page advertisements in trade papers to praise Seiderman's brilliant and innovative work on "Citizen Kane", and often called him "the greatest make-up man in the world".
- No-one held my hand on "Citizen Kane" and told me what to do. Orson realized that I understood the overall view of the picture, what he was attempting to do, and that I could handle it. This is why I loved Orson Welles and still do. This is also why I quit pictures, even after becoming head of RKO's make-up department: there were no other people like Welles to work with.
- [on Orson Welles's relationship with Hollywood]: For too many years, the film industry has been ruled by fear, to protect one's lower position or one's security. So they go where the "superior" winds from above blow them. This is the environment that Orson experienced when he came to town. In this rotten game of chess, Orson was only a pawn but he played like a knight. No-one knew which direction he would jump.
