New York, July 26 (Ians) In a significant experiment, a US medical school used Open AI’s Chat-gpt 4 to see if it can make accurate diagnoses in challenging medical cases.
Physician-researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Bidmc) in Boston found that Chat-gpt 4 selected the correct diagnosis nearly 40 per cent of the time.
Chat-gpt 4 also provided the correct diagnosis in its list of potential diagnoses in two-thirds of challenging cases, revealed the findings, published in Jama.
“Recent advances in artificial intelligence have led to generative AI models that are capable of detailed text-based responses that score highly in standardised medical examinations,” said Adam Rodman, co-director of the Innovations in Media and Education Delivery (iMED) Initiative at Bidmc.
“We wanted to know if such a generative model could ‘think’ like a doctor, so we asked one to solve standardised complex diagnostic cases used for educational purposes. It did really, really well,” said Rodman,...

“Don’t let them bury me, I’m not dead!”
When we think of zombies, it’s only natural to first go right into everyone’s favorite flesh-eating ghouls that were popularized by George Romero in his genre classic Night of the Living Dead. But the idea of zombies has been around much longer and is actually steeped in fact. Haitian voodoo has claimed to create zombies for hundreds of years and in film, these were represented in some of our earliest horror movies. White Zombie and I Walked with a Zombie are two of the more famous ones, but the entire sub-genre has some fascinating watches. Horror legend Wes Craven brought a return to Voodoo...

Netflix has set April 10 for the premiere of Brews Brothers, its new comedy series from brothers Greg Schaffer and The League creator Jeff Schaffer.
Alan Aisenberg (Orange Is the New Black) and Mike Castle star as estranged brothers Wilhelm (Aisenberg) and Adam Rodman (Castle), who find themselves running a brewery together. Each one is a beer genius… a braumeister, but they couldn’t be more different in their beer-making techniques and personalities. A lot of times in a show you see two people who complete each other. These two don’t even make a full person.
Carmen Flood and Marques Ray also star. Greg Schaffer serves as showrunner, executive producer and writer. Jeff Schaffer, Jonathan Stern and Keith Quinn serve as executive producers.
Check out a few first-look photos below.

Conversations about diversity and inclusion have become a necessity in Hollywood considering the demand and need for authentic representation in TV and film. Earlier this week, UTA hosted their second Diversity Showrunner Panel with Tanya Saracho (Vida), Aida Croal, Marco Ramirez, Marja-Lewis Ryan (the forthcoming The L-Word sequel) and Aaron Thomas — and they did not hold back.
Moderated by Samie Falvey, who will serve as executive producer of Jessica Gao’s forthcoming comedy pilot at ABC, the panelists shared their stories — some of them horrific, some of them not — about working on shows and how it was like to be “the other” in a writers’ room. As the word “diversity” becomes more of a buzz word and less of an action-oriented initiative in Hollywood, their stories seemed like something out of an Hr training video on...

I didn’t even know he was ill. When Wes Craven’s passing was announced I was numb. The gravity of the loss felt in the film world was palpable, especially in horror. Mr. Craven was one of us, a great champion of the genre. And for those that called him a hack – and there were a few – if they didn’t know it then, know it now, and remember it forever - he revived the genre not once but twice.
Slashers had choked like weeds all the freshness from horror until Mr. Craven came along with the startlingly original A Nightmare on Elm Street. And then, in the 90’s as we wept for anything fun in the genre, he came roaring back with the astounding Scream and revitalized the genre, again.
As I was asked to write this piece on Serpent and the Rainbow, I thought back on what...
