Paul King is to direct an adaptation of R J Palacio's Wonder, and then Meet The Beatles. No sign of Paddington 2, yet.
Director Paul King’s film of Paddington is still shifting lots of discs, and making sizeable chunks of change for its distributors around the world. And whilst King himself had been linked with making Paddington 2, which will surely happen at some point, it looks as if before that he has two films, one of which may be an animated musical about The Beatles.
Set to include many songs from the band, Meet The Beatles will apparently be based around the idea of the ‘one that got away’, reports The Tracking Board. There’s no further detail on that or the plot at this stage.
Jay Stern, who penned Mr Popper’s Penguins and The Watch, has been working on the script for this one, with Paddington...

Yes, the sequel to 2011’s surprise hit about dudes who hate their jobs is a go and original cast members Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day are all on board, as is Jamie Foxx. Since (Spoiler Alert) the trio effectively defeated their work overlords in the original Horrible Bosses, directors Sean Anders and John Morris — who wrote this summer’s We’re the Millers — had to seek new corporate villains for the sequel. First up, there’s the ever-dashing Chris Pine, whom Variety says will play “half of a father-son duo that steals the main characters’ idea for a new invention.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers Brett Ratner and Jay Stern were hoping that Christoph Waltz would play the dad, but sadly it appears they had no such luck.

Seth Gordon’s Horrible Bosses is by far one of the funniest films I’ve seen in years, and one of the most memorable. So needless to say, Horrible Bosses 2 is something I’m really looking forward to.
Talks of a sequel have been circling pretty much since the film was released back in the summer of 2011. And it was early last year that we got confirmation that the first film’s co-writers, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, were going to be penning the sequel.
And now THR report that Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis have officially closed their deals, and will all be returning for Horrible Bosses 2. And not only that, but Jamie Foxx is in negotiations as well, and is likely to be reprising his role as Motherf**ker Jones.

His newest film, 11-11-11, is coming out this weekend so naturally we've been wondering when, if ever, we'd be seeing Darren Bousman's previous effort, a loose remake of Mother's Day, released here in the States (the UK got it last month on DVD and Blu-ray). Finally the news has come that Anchor Bay Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Mother’s Day. Hallelujah!
Per Deadline the film has been in the can for a while, but a deal with distributor Gigapix that would have put the film into theaters fell through. Now Anchor Bay is looking at a potential release for next Mother’s Day, which falls on May 13, 2012.
“With Saw’s Darren Lynn Bousman at the helm and a cast featuring [Rebecca] De Mornay, [Shwan] Ashmore and [Deborah Ann] Woll, Mother’s Day has an unbeatable horror pedigree,” said Kevin Kasha, Anchor Bay executive vp of acquisitions and co-productions.

Last night, London saw the European premiere of Warner Bros. new movie, Horrible Bosses. The cast is rather impressive and includes Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Jamie Foxx, Julie Bowen, Donal Sutherland and John Francis Daley. It’s directed by Seth Gordon.
Synopsis: For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. Produced by Jay Stern.

I saw Horrible Bosses this weekend and loved it. Seth Gordon directed Jason Bateman, Jason Sudiekis and Charlie Day in the leads. The movie took six years to make and was once set to star a variety of actors, including Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Reynolds, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Johnny Knoxville.
Brett Ratner, who produced the film New Line/Warner Bros., spoke to THR. He revealed that Kutcher was attached to star at two different points. Kutcher was to have played the role of Dale Arbus in the film. Ratner and his partners at Rat Entertainment, John Cheng and Jay Stern, were persistant and kept believing in the film that also stars Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Horrible Bosses made $28.1 million over the weekend, so the persistance paid off.
Here is what Ratner had to say:
“In this day and age, you need a lot of patience...
