The opening show of S Club‘s long-awaited 25th-anniversary reunion tour was as much a celebration of their time together as it was a celebration of Paul Cattermole, the longtime member of the British pop group who died earlier this year from an underlying heart condition at the age of 46.
Kicking off the tour in Manchester at Ao Arena, the group — now a five-piece following the death of Cattermole in April and the departure of singer Hannah Spearrit — reunited for the first time in eight years. On stage, they took...

S Club has released their first single in 20 years in tribute to their bandmate Paul Cattermole, who died in April at the age of 46. The single, titled "These Are the Days," honors Cattermole, and the song's music video sees the band look through a photo album full of memories of their career.
The group, formerly called S Club 7 but later rebranded S Club, felt Cattermole's presence when shooting the video. "There was a butterfly. We were all sat down and a butterfly came from nowhere. It was a really bright, beautiful butterfly which flew down and went off," Tina Barrett told The Sun. "I don't know why, but I just thought, 'That's Paul.' It came from nowhere." Rachel Stevens added: "There's little signs of Paul everywhere. On the video shoot, there was a vinyl coaster and it said 'Good Times' on it.

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit platforms. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.
Anomalisa (Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson)
Charlie Kaufman, the writer behind Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, teams up with animator Duke Johnson to create a complex emotional drama starring lifelike puppets. The premise is riddled with existential dread of modern-day life, presented uniquely through Kaufman’s idiosyncratic point-of-view. For protagonist and self-help author Michael Stone (voiced soulfully by David Thewlis), everyone around him has the same voice (thanks to...

We’ve seen our fair share of films about teacher-student relationships, but they tend to fall into either the titillating or inspirational categories. Miss Stevens is neither. It’s a quiet drama which is powerful in its subtlety. The plot itself is understated, but the execution is surprisingly compelling. The set-up involves Rachel Stevens (Lily Rabe), a lonely high school teacher who reluctantly chaperones three teens – including the troubled and charismatic Billy (Timothee Chalamet) – to a drama competition. In her directorial debut, Julia Hart, who co-wrote the film with her husband Jordan Horowitz, exhibits an aptitude for working with actors. Rabe won the Best Actress […]...

Going in, it is tempting to make a great deal of assumptions about Miss Stevens, because its outer-most layer feels like familiar territory. An unhappy female High School teacher takes three students to a weekend drama competition, and a transformative experience ensues. This is a dramatic plot device that we have seen play out many times on the big screen but – as the film begins its powerful opening sequence, set to the haunting musical saw stylings of Natalia Paruz – it quickly becomes clear that Miss Stevens is actually something else entirely.
This is the directorial debut of Julia Hart (The Keeping Room), who co-wrote the screenplay with producer, Jordan Horowitz (La La Land). What has been created is a stunning work of misdirection, though it is neither contrived nor manipulative. Rather, it works in concert with the habitual expectations of the audience to weave a tale run-through with absolute truth.

It's often written off as the runt of the soap litter, but we're rather affectionate towards Hollyoaks. Surprisingly, it's not only survived but is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary this autumn. It now boasts 50 regulars and a faster pace than any other soap, but can you believe that Hollyoaks once focused on the adventures of only seven main characters?
Launching on Channel 4 in October 1995 with just one episode per week, Hollyoaks gradually earned a place in viewers' hearts as it followed the tangled lives and torrid loves of Kurt, Jambo, Louise, Maddie, Natasha, Dawn and Tony. So where are Chester's magnificent seven now?

After all the excitement about the Strictly Come Dancing launch last weekend, we've now got to wait a couple of weeks to discover who can dance and who can... waddle around a floor, badly (We're looking at you, Gregg Wallace).
In the meantime, we've had the ultimate Strictly pub debate - yes, we talk about Strictly in the pub - who is the greatest champion of all time. Here is the Definitive* ranking of the 11 Glitterball Champions from Worst to the Best.
*Actually just our opinion.
11. Chris Hollins
You can't win Strictly Come Dancing and be a bad dancer. However, Chris Hollins would have struggled to reach the final in any other series and it was only really his partnership with Ola 'Chops' Jordan and the dull competition that allowed him to stroll (or should that be Charleston?) to victory.
10. Tom Chambers
Were Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup the best dancers in 2008? Probably not.

S Club 7 are reportedly being courted for a new reunion TV special.
The late 1990's and early 2000's pop group are said to be wanted by their former management company for a show to rival ITV2's The Big Reunion, The Sun reports.
19 Entertainment are allegedly putting together their own reality show with all seven members of the band, in a similar fashion to Steps' reunion for Sky Living.
It would be the first time S Club 7 have all been together since Paul Cattermole's departure in 2002.
"The Big Reunion was such an incredible success the first time round that ITV are currently signing up bands for the second series," a source said.

London, May 1: A decade after a bitter public spat with her father, British pop star Rachel Stevens says she is open to a reunion with him.
The former S Club 7 singer went away from her father Michael in 2003 after he branded her "selfish" following a family bust-up. I'm not shutting the door to seeing him again. I'm older now and feel more compassion towards.
